Not really a Stagea thing but I just wanted say how annoying it is.. not to be able to wash my car with the hose under current water restrictions here in Melbourne ...but if i want to pay I can use the local servo car wash...I asked the guy at the servo. as I know him pretty well... and was told their car wash does NOT use recycled water..typical modern day political correctness..punish every one for the sins of a few..speed bumps are other similar annoying situation.

Ps. I Never water my lawn and have been taking a leak in the garden for many years..

gee i would be just happy to wash my car but im to lazy to push it out of the shed heavy boat anker it is .sucks you guys have water restrictions as i hate having a dirty stagea i feel sorry for yous .

Not sure what the deal here is at the moment but i've used Carlover car wash places both here in Newcastle and down in Sydney - because they recycle their water i've found it leaves a dirty film on glass and polished parts of the car.

Ahwell, I wash my car at mum and dads since we don't have a hose here and there's no rush to wash the car like at Carlovers. :P

the last time i used newcastle car lovers was the last time i washed the wagon i take my own stuff and go at night so iam not rushed took me a full hour just to was and chamoi my wagon and it looked aworsome, then BANG hour later it was being trailerd home :D .......

enough about me. if you want to wash your wagon at home, why don't you just save your shower water, by catching the excess in a bucket or somthing similar and then wash your ride with that. or you could fit a water tank just for washing your car. you can't go around with a dirty car thats just not proper i mean it's just unheard of it's not right

I think its interesting how they said you can wash ur car with buckets of water, but not a hose...

How do they figure that throwing buckets of water over ur car uses less water than a quick spray from a hose....????

Definately get a tank. There are guys that can sell you a tank, and pump, and fit it all, and after the rebate you pay about $300.... not a hard choice.

Never tried it cos i had this hunch, right, that it was the most ridiculous idea ever. plus how long would it take to fill 20 buckets of water? haha

politics.

if it was me i rather not wash the car with a bucket at all. Cos it will scratch the paint big time. Im using a high pressure washer to wash my car. No water restictions cos im on tank water!! And i have put in a 3 micron pre filter on the supply line and my car is clean ass when its got a shower!!

Water Saving Options

It's essential to protect and preserve the general condition of your car.

Damaging elements such as industrial fallout, harsh road grime, bird and insect droppings, tree sap and pollen, acid rain and brake dust etc continually attack your car's paintwork, trim and wheels. Regular washing, combined with periodic polishing and waxing, isn't just for appearance sake - it's essential to protect and preserve the general condition of your car.

So you shouldn't feel guilty about cleaning your car, Meguiar’s offers 2 ways to wash your car.

You can either use little, or no water - click below to see how:- http://www.meguiars.com.au/water_saver.htm

I looked at a few waterless car wash sites...they claim it will not scratch the car as it "encapsulates the dirt" without scratching..none of these dry washes tell you how it does this and I for one dont see how it could work without scratching... (their lack of any real technical evidence is suss)...I stopped using a sponge to wash my car when I found out they can make fine sratches ..all the info I have read says its most important to hose off the initial dirt as mush as poss and then wash with a soft cloth or shammy (bugger of word to spell) .

well it actually starts in the ocean before it becomes rain...

but i assumed you meant rainwater from a tank or whatnot, so unless its been filtered, it will contain the dirt it catches in the air.

    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
    • Legend. I ended up finding the facebook account of the owner of the first car i sent but sadly he deactivated the account. I think you’re right in saying it’s some sort of well done custom job. Really appreciate your help anyways.
    • Totally equivalent. Stock often goes from the comp cover because that's where the actuator is also installed and the factory needs 2" of hose to make the connection - and it comes as a pre-assembled unit. They totally have a boost reference from somewhere between the turbo and the throttle(s). Oh, jeez. Just do it in M12 then. We don't actually care that much. I would expect any such AN converter fitting to rely on an o-ring or some other seal onto a flat surface under the flange of the hex**, because bolt threads are no intended to provide a pressure seal. unlike..... pipe threads. **which also requires a suitably flat and smooth surface on the turbo's boss to provide the seal.
