Yep. The board crashed (due to a failed RAID controller) and Christian's had to rebuild his database. At first I thought I got kicked out for saying something wrong considering I only just registered the day before! After reading the sticky about the outage, I figured I had to re-register and we're back to normal now, more or less.

rianto has it. and yes they are NOT cheap. not to mention theres still a lot of custom electronics to maintain teh extra options.

Given the composite video input that one can tap into with the V35's, for those who are only concerned with the GPS, I'm thinking one could use the Garmin GVN53 interface as a cheaper alternative. Of course, that would only be an ideal solution for those who don't care much for the stereo and translations. A bit hard for me to tell without a V36 (which won't be until March/April for me) but that's my guess for now. What's your take on this?

up to you. the video in on a 35 has limitations. picture looks a LOT better with RGB applied to it.

I use the GVN53 when I do the 35s. though I use a slightly different version.

if you buy a CKV36 then the full swap is the BEST way to tackle it.

if you read the description they are only installing TV tuner to allow viewing of UK TV Channels. Nothing in the navigation or menus are converted/translated.

its exactly the same to what Chris has been doing, adding an Australian compatible TV tuner.

I think he's still pretty busy... he just finished mine today... I got reverse camera now, although it doesn't tell me 100% whether I'm gonna hit something or not but at least it's helpful to see what's behind me with 150 degree wide angle view....

hm, chris the way you mounted the camera so low, it's very strategic when reversing against a bunch of chics in mini skirts... LOL

    • I was just driving into work and while on my drive, I went to accelerate and noticed the car would sputter/hesitate and I’d hear a few pops from the exhaust before it started going faster. Then I also noticed that when I push my clutch in, the car would die. This all started happening today. Any ideas?
    • That is a lovely Volvo, just saying. Yes I should have got an 260RS when they were cheap. I do regret now.
    • ^ lots of good points made above. The thing is, "aggressive" or "flush" fitment is relative depending on how much you have been influenced by social media. My starting point is always "look at the Nismo RWD specs". That is where you should start, then start measuring as GTSBoy as sort of mentioned, because every car will be slightly different. My 8.5"+35/9.5+38 will not be "flush" enough for you because you want more "pumped" look, which is why you measure. Tyre sizes and brand/models also make a difference. Some tyres are more chunky/square, some are more rounded. That means you could get away with more aggressive offsets without rubbing. But then it also depends on your ride height. Also depends on how much your car copped damage before being shipped from Japan. So it goes back to measuring your car yourself and determining what can work. Those Nismo specs are used bacause it's a safe spec for standard car (suspension. body) with chunky tyres. But then I put 265/35 wide tyres on R34 GT-R wheels, and currently run 285/30 tyres on 18x10 wheels.
    • Sounds pretty awesome. I recommend creating a new build thread and posting all your goodness in there.
