joeyjoejoejuniorshabadoo
33's can look great, but i think they're the hardest to do cosmetic mods to... But when the're good they're great there are many out there that look like they have teh super aids. i know how hard it was to make mine look tough and not cheap. 33_skyline
That is what I'm talking about, that what i was going to do to my gts-t, already have the skirts, different rear bar so someone by my front bar so I can get a new one. The 33 GTR has to be seen in the flesh to appriciate how good they do actually look Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/197310-r33-gt-r/page/2/#findComment-3530072 Share on other sites

ferni
is that standered having the two vents on the side of the front bars? like in the white ones pic u can see it just No. They are usually 400R front bars that have side vents, but the car you posted a pic of is scotsmans, that's not a 400R bar either, dunno what it is, but it's not standard. WRRR
Hey guys,My favourite Skyline is the R33, i've always loved it's shape, voluptuous hips, and tail light scheme over the R32 & 34 GT-Rs. But isn't it the most unpopular GT-R available? Well the 32 GT-R will always be 'Godzilla' and have the astonishing track record of winning EVERYTHING and it's the lightest, most trim and focused looking GT-R to date. The 34 GT-R was, until recently, the newest you could get, most technologically advanced, most muscular looking and the outright pinnacle of what GT-R stands for. And that dash-mounted monitor was a bloody fantastic addition! But the 33 GT-R, well it's a 'boat' compared to the 32, and is outdone on the track by the 34. Basically it gets lost in between its great brothers and is being forgotten. There is merit in the 33, right? What do you guys think? I'll admit dream GT-R is a 34 V-Spec and the 34 just looks better than the others, but it's too damn expensive without being THAT mechanically different to a 33. And the 32 is getting on now, it's an old dog and needs a walking frame. I'd go a 33 GT-R, yes. Do you guys have an opinion on this? It is all in the eye of the beholder. I like the shape and presence of the R33 GTR and I don't think the shape will date badly. I was in the lucky position where I could have bought any of the GTR's and drove a lot of them to be sure but went with the R33 despite what most people say about them being boats, heavy ........ etc. If you really have a look at the specs they are a few kg heavier than the 32 - me being a big fella kills that one as I carry more kg extra than the difference between any of them. They have a faster attessa than the 32 (reportedly not as fast as the R34 but I can't tell). They have improved oil pump drives over the 32. They have better brakes than most of the 32s. Later model ones have improved syncros. They were the first production car to do the "Ring" sub 8 and do have a good racing record ..... etc. They don't have flash display of the 34 or the 6 speeder but don't have the inflated price tag either. On the road (maybe not so much the track) the longer wheelbase makes them a little less prone to pitching and makes them a little more comfortable. I think they have the longest doors of the lot and that makes them a pita in close parking spaces as the doors need to open a long way to be able to get out. As for all the GTRs they look and go better lowered a bit but the 33's really scream out for some wider offset wheels to fill the guards. I was running the std rims with 20mm bolt on spacers with 255 and that made a heap of difference. With 18x9.5 +21 (no spacers) with 245 (on car now) it looks even better. As you can probably guess I am happy - maybe only until I can work out how to get a new R35 without the boss kicking up too much of a stink (but I'd probably keep the 33 as well). As for any car that is likely to have been driven as it was intended, or even worse, find a good one and be willing to pay extra for it. In hindsite, if you are thinking of modding one I'd even suggest buying one that has most or all of the work done by someone reputable as modding a stock unit is time consuming and expensive. You get to say you did it yourself and how you wanted but at a hell of a price (am there, doing that -ouch). R33 GTR it is (for me anyway) Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/197310-r33-gt-r/page/2/#findComment-3530395 Share on other sites
ali-turko
iv had an r33 and a r32 gtr, atessa is quicker in the the 33 but an r32 gtr is more nibble and i thought alot more fun to drive, plus the look tough as f**k, it will alway be an r32 to for me Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/197310-r33-gt-r/page/2/#findComment-3530814 Share on other sites

R338OY
Hey mate im in the same boat... i have $30000 roughly to spend and im looking at a gtr... love the 34, to exspensive.... 32 is cool but getting to old... then theres the 33... its nice but i dunno alittle plain and boring... but in my price range... its reali hard, love skylines but i dunno the 33 doesnt shout at me u kno... thats why im even looking at a evo 7... dont reali know what ill do yet...Wish i could see pics of a not so boring and plain 33 gtr! Yeh when you weigh up the factors you'll either love the 33 because it's a good time to buy one (price wise and not too old yet) Or you'll hate it because the 34 kicks arse, or the 32 will always be the classic GT-R, and is in most ppl's price range. Dude, just get the 33 i hear u man. i like the r33 best then the r32 and the r34 isnt even on my list.evaluations 32=knife/sword 33= pinnacle of style....except for new gtr of course 34= way too large and ugly. =brick Haha Yeh the 32 looks like a door stop and 34 is a turbocharged LG fridge. But if it wasn't for the flared guards and sexxxy ass the 33 would look like a dildo. Too bad for us gts-t owners but guess that explains all the looks i get from 30+ ladies when i'm cruising R33 GTRs are a car that look much nicer in real life compared to photos too, you see the lines and "fatness" a lot better. Amen to that brother. I sold my 34 GTR and bought a 33 GTR.They're better. You're my hero. You get to say you did it yourself and how you wanted but at a hell of a price (am there, doing that -ouch). R33 GTR it is (for me anyway) Well your experience speaks for itself mate. I agree it's up to each person's taste, but weighing up pro's and cons of the specs says a lot for the 33. To get a 34 you're paying for two 33's, and they aren't that much faster in a line or through corners. What could you do to a 33 with the extra cash from selling a 34? You'd make a 10 second killer. iv had an r33 and a r32 gtr, atessa is quicker in the the 33 but an r32 gtr is more nibble and i thought alot more fun to drive, plus the look tough as f**k, it will alway be an r32 to for me I love all GT-R's, and i'd buy a 32 cause they're great. My point is about aesthetics mainly, the 33 is like a beautiful Italian lady, with a tall build and curves to make you cream. I've studied all the GT-R shapes and you'l notice Nissan have used the 32 and expanded on it in the 34. The 33 shape has been sidelined and will probably never be revived. The R35 even continues the 32 + 34 genes if you look closely. The 32, 34 & 35 nose all have three sides where the 33 is rounded. On the 32 & 34 the bonnet has a lip in the front which points down. The 33 doesn't. All the wings used on the non 33's, including the 35, are resting on 'stilts' or 'pillars' (sorry don't know the word) where the 33's are either rounded (s1) or rectangular (s2) but are all one piece. Where the boot meets the rear quarter-panel on the 33 Nissan have rounded it together. On the 32 and 34 this meets at more of a 90 degree angle, giving the sharper 'knifey' lines from the back. Basically the 33 is a one of a kind Skyline. I prefer the shape and wish Nissan/Nismo would continue the 33 bloodline before it's only remebered as a fat Japanese dildo. gts-4 dreamer
dont go over the top, he sold his 34 becuase it had to much money in it for him to enjoy it, so he did the sensible thing and bought something he wouldnt mind smashing so much. ps I bought a line becuase I fell in love with the 400r ... a 33 .. shape... I wanted it and still want it... if there was a choice between a REAL 400r and a 34 i would take the 400r .... but im a little away from my next upgrade yet and I love to rally my 33t so meh.... R338OY
I love my fat japanese dildo... Hmmm...bet its 33-inches. Wide ps I bought a line becuase I fell in love with the 400r ... a 33 .. shape... Yah the 400R is up there with the best Nismo tuned cars, the closet i get to it is a 700hp version i tuned in GT4 lol. I'm not a fan of the 400R bodykit on gtst-t's though, which i've seen a fair bit. They're not beefy enough to wear that sh!t, with all those ducts n stuff. Only looks good on a dildo GTR shape. You'll never get a 400R, let's just face it. There's what, only 99 ever made? And there's how many millions of Skyline fans out there? R31 Gagz
For me the order of preference goes R35,R32,R34,R31,R33.....sorry but the R33 just doesn't have the aggressive look/feel for me, not saying they aren't a nice car though. There are plenty of VERY nice R33 GTRs out there and I fully agree they look better in real life than in photos...I've got a mate with a R33 GTST and I don't begrudge his tastes, he loves it and wouldn't have anything else....for me the R32 GTR does it and wouldn't have anything else. Regardless of tastes and opinions, they are all legendary cars. Cheers! stolen_s15
I think R33's (t's or R's) are the easiest to do aesthetic mods on. They only need very minor simple things to look great, and IMO they look poxy when they are done too much. R33GTR in midnight Purple with factory xenons and some gold 18/19 x 10 Volk GT-C's make for an amazingly horny looking car. funkymonkey
that's wierd... I have an utter loathe and hatred for the R33 GTSt's but I think the R33 GTR's are brilliant. They actually look better than an R32 GTR in stock form, have better features, are faster given their added bulk disadvantage, and are newer... and the biggest reason is that they don't look like a VL commonwhore on the inside. That said I wouldn't buy a series 1 R33 GTR, I'd probably buy a S2 or preferably an S3. S1 R33 GTR's are seriously the best bang for buck though, cos you can get em as low as $24,000 these days. R34 GTR's > R33 GTR's but that's to be expected. newer tech, better composite materials etc. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/197310-r33-gt-r/page/2/#findComment-3541625 Share on other sites
