Can you tell us more about this feature? Can it do something more than simply sms the gps co-ordinates? This hints at a feature like: can establish a gprs connection to an IP address you specify (running who knows what protocol/software) and upload *live* data. If that's the case, I'm in...

Im interested, if this question can be answered re GPRS connection to a static IP.

You might need to ask the distributor for the installation and user manuals, or get someone to scan them in and post them up.

Yes still on....

With regard to the GPRS connection to an IP address, this advanced function is probably more relevant for companies with a fleet of vehicles to track at the same time. So instead of using the low-cost SMS commands via GSM, the unit will constantly send data to your computer (with tracking software & modem) via GPRS which is pretty costly. This is the sort of function used by transport & logistics companies to track their fleet and they have a dedicated monitoring centre for it. That's why I think the unit's main sms command function is good enough for private uses since it won't cost you much at all (only sms's).

In google earth, easiest way seems to be to add a "placemark", ctrl-shift-P or click "Add" menu, and select "Placemark"

Among many others, Google Maps are also mostly free and easy to use.

Use this link:

http://maps.google.com.au/maps?hl=en&tab=wl

Enter the coordinates that you've received in the sms, and that's it. For EXAMPLE: 33.877935 s 151.218958 e

Look like an awesome unit, by reading i assume its only a tracking device, and won't alert you if your alarm gets triggered?

This has been discussed before:

"You may also be able to use the main power cut alert function as an alert trigger, so if you have an aftermarket alarm system just connect a relay between the unit's power cable and the siren, that way when the siren is set off it will temporarily cut its main power and triggers its automatic alert. The unit will call your mobile phone if the main power is cut off for longer than +/- 3 seconds, so you will not get false alerts from locking/unlocking your car. This relay trick should work if the siren on the car blares continuously, not intermittently. Therefore, it should be okay with most aftermarket car alarm systems."

    • Since winter isn't that harsh anymore in Poland, i will definetely drive it 365 days a year 😉. But if the snow hits i will try it for sure and let U know. Only swap i am planning to do is of course R34 GTR front 😍.
    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
