Miso you really need to try and cut out the alcohol. That's one thing I noticed with myself, when I stopped drinking completely, shit started happening. Also it will save you like what, $60-$100/week? ;)

yeah, I am trying to cut it out, but it has nearly become habit. Watch a movie, have a six pack, etc. But yeah, would help cash wise as well.

Need to suck it up and stop. That's why I started doing basketball, netball and boxing 4 nights a week. Those nights I can't drink cause I have shit to do.

Did a PB of 120kg x 6 squats tonight.

Also spoke to a PT about a body fat% test. Couldn't do it tonight as the room was closed but will do it later this week. All this talk has got me curious!!!

What do you weigh? How tall are you?

Your troll efforts have always been shithouse la bomba; didn't think it was possible for you to get worse, but now you're not even trying.

If I were dead, I would be rolling in my grave at the possibility someone would even consider this trolling. There used to be a sense of class and dignity to the art. You are to trolling, what dubstep is to music...a de-evolution into shitness and absolutely everything wrong with this world. You are Bangarang, I am Moonlight Sonata. Now please, go neck yourself.

I actually wasn't trolling, though I was slightly misguiding people with my claims. I should have said "I am the most shredded guy on SAU" as opposed to the biggest.

It's hard work being an extreme ectomorph and maintaining 88kg of mass at 8% bodyfat.

And no...I would more so compare myself to Coppercab, except for the fact I'm not a ginger lol.

Try giving something like 1MR a shot (or really anything with loads of caffeine and DMAA).

I'm currently using something called Napalm, and I'm finding it more effective than 1MR was even though it's ultimately the same thing. Doesn't taste like nasty shit (though let's be honest, doesn't taste great either). It was $47 from Oxygen out at Majura Park (old Brand Depot) near the airport.

How are you finding the Napalm? I am using it at the moment as well, having used jack3d previously - It seems to work ok, without the pins and needles effect jack3d used to have.

I reckon it's pretty good, and I certainly appreciate the lack of tingling effect hahaha

I've never understood the want or need for these pro-workout supps, can you explain why you guys take them?

Depends from person to person I suppose. Personally it gives me a bit of a mental wakeup (possibly placebo effect, but either way whatever) along with the faux energy and life a stupid amount of caffeine gives. After a long unbelievably mentally draining day, I lack the drive to push onto the gym. Believe me, my current job actually makes me depressed - in a worthless want to sit around doing nothing and let the world pass you by kind of way. I very often need it, both for the physical sensation when it hits you and for the mental buzz (placebo). Makes me feel alive again....unfortunately after a week off caffeine, it made me feel alive for 8 or so hours afterwards, keeping me up until after midnight.

Helps me to push past fatigue point, particularly when im training hard after an exhausting day in the office so they do work, although im sure not for everyone.

Most of them recommend doing a month on month off

Incase anyone missed it, I thought this play on words by trozzle was a brilliant post, hahaha

I'd hate to shoot myself in the foot here, but in a twist of irony I actually stole those calls from Benji himself hahahaha

I posted this before - 5'7 and 84kgs.

Re preworkout powders, I have used quite a few - Jack3D, Mesomorph, Bulk Nutrients, 1MR, C4 and Assault!! I take them for the following reasons; increase in energy, increase in strength, increase in pump and more focus. Some powders do some of these things better than others but unfortunately one does not do them all. Of them, I like Assault and Mesomorph followed by Bulk Nutrients.

Pre-workout supps are being banned soon, a lot of the stuff in them is just stimulants and has no nutritional value. Sooo, basically what happens is kids take the preworkout which breaks down their muscle fibre more than if they trained without pre workout sup, however they will keep their diet the same which means only some strength gains will be made but muscle mass will remain the same if not decrease. Point is, if you have pre workout supps you need to adjust your diet accordingly to suit the increased intensity and repair more muscle fibre breakdown. It will also take a bigger toll on ur CNS.

I honestly think they are unnecessary but thats just my opinion, I've gotten to where I am without using them.

Pre-workout I'll eat breast chicken (fast asorbing protein) which will provide amino acids during the workout and brown rice (carbs slow releasing) and that usually gives me enough nutrient stores for the workout, then ill have the whey protein with 30g pure carbs post workout (spikes insulin which means the protein is absorbed faster to repair the muscle during the 60 minute anabolic window) etc etc

Preworkout supss are not being banned, certain ingredients are. There are still plenty available without those ingredients, and seeing as though the FDA is banning those ingredients too, the US companies will just adjust their ingredients where necessary.

Ofcourse pw's have no nutrional value, never meant too. The main active ingredient in pw's since they were made has been caffeine.

Caffeine works, and is one of the most effective legal supplements out there, which is why every athlete uses it, and the IOC has a limit imposed.

However, I do agree, the avergae Joe doesn't need it. But it can help.

    • No. Turbo shuffle and surge/flutter are not the same thing. Specifically, on a GTR, turbo shuffle has a definite meaning. On a GTR, the twin turbos are assumed to be the same thing and to operate the same way, exactly. In reality, they do not. Their exhaust sides are fed and exhaust a little differently, to each other. Their inlet sides are fed and exhausted a little differently, to each other. Consequently, when they are "working" they are often at slightly different points on the compressor map compared to each other. What this means, particularly when coming on boost, is that one of them will spool up and start producing extra flow compared to the other, which will put back pressure on that other compressor, which will push the operating point on that other compressor up (vertically). This will generally result in it bumping up against the surge line on the map, but even if it doesn't, it upsets the compressor and you get this surging shuffle back and forth between them That is "turbo shuffle" on a GTR. It is related to other flutter effects heard on other turbo systems, but it is a particular feature of the somewhat crappy outlet piping arrangement on RB26s. There are plenty of mods that have been attempted with varying levels of success. People have ground out and/or welded more material into the twin turbo pipe to try to prevent it. Extending the divider inside it works, removing material doesn't. There are aftermarket replacement twin turbo pipes available, and these exist pretty mush purely because of this shuffle problem.
    • You can temporarily* use lock collars to keep it in place until you can do the bushes, back the nuts off, slide them in, snug back up. *temporarily is often for ever
    • Thanks for the quick reply. To be clear, when you say turbo shuffle do you mean turbo flutter "stustustu" or referring to something else? I had thought they were the same thing. When I wrote the post my intention was to say it wasn't a flutter/compression surge sound. My understanding was that a flutter sound would be occurring when throttle is released, whereas I can keep the throttle in the same position for this noise
    • Hi everyone, I've been wrestling with this for a while now and have been trying to find out the cause. For context, the turbos used are Garrett 2860 -5s, the BOV is a BNR32 HKS SSQV IV kit, the car is currently tuned to ~470 whp on 17.5 psi. The car drives normally, pulls well when it doesn't happen, and I can replicate it fairly easily. It does not sound like turbo shuffle or flutter. The engine has only a thousand or so miles and has had this behavior since it was completed. After my engine was built for my R32 GTR, I noticed that the car now sometimes makes an air discharge sound on what appears to be positive boost pressure that sounds really similar to a BOV. I had thought that it was a BOV issue but even when replacing it with a brand new unit, the sound persisted. It seems like it's coming from the passenger side but I may be mistaken. The closest scenario I could find was this post here https://www.gtr.co.uk/threads/maybe-a-boost-leak-opinions.147955/https://www.gtr.co.uk/threads/maybe-a-boost-leak-opinions.147955/ started by @yakshii and it sounds very similar. As in, at partial throttle once I reach positive boost I begin to hear the same psh psh psh psh psh sound like air is leaking somewhere when I keep the throttle in the same position. It most commonly happens in 4th gear at around 3-3.5k RPM and 5th gear around 2.5-3k RPM, which seems to coincide with normal positive boost thresholds. It might be similar to what @Austrian GTR mentioned about his own HKS SSQV. Notable difference would be that when he applies more throttle when it happens, it stops. In my scenario if I apply more throttle during this repeated psh psh psh sound, the cadence of the sound gets faster and louder rather than stopping. If I lift off slightly and apply throttle again, it will normally stop and pull without issue. I've checked all rubber couplers to ensure that they are tight, but have not gotten the opportunity to properly do a pressurized boost leak test. If anyone has had similar experiences or thoughts on what might be the cause, I'd be very keen to hear them. I also have a video of it happening from inside the cabin, if that would make it easier to understand: https://youtu.be/2zqZXcx8jbA
