how does everyone keep track of their workouts?

I use the Jefit app on my phone, keeps track of all my logs and lifts, can add notes if I feel the need and has made it easy to keep track of my workout volume.

Simple notepad file on tablet.

I run endomondo also to keep track of time spent and rest periods and check email, facebook during breaks and sometimes youtube clips on form.

I'm at home though so using a tablet to play my music and record notes doesn't seem as nerdy when you are flying solo.

Deadlift 220kg Birds. In your next deadlift session.. Do it once at least & receive a virtual high five.

You will do it ha ha...

No seriously lift 220.... I am confident you can do it.

Hahaha. Right now I'm confident I could get 200 up; I don't want to try it though, cause my form will be terrible. I'm currently fixing my form with more volume at lower weights for now, as my lower back was getting a bit sore with my "yanking" as Markos calls it.

Also want my squats to catch up, because they are far behind my deads at the moment. But soon I'll return to the deadlift 1RMs and I'll definitely give 220 a crack! Tough ask for a tall skinny 80kg not going to PTC :P

I used to have just a generic diary and would scribble shit down in there, but now I just use a very basic notepad app on my phone. Only really need like 2 weeks of notes at any time to skim back through anyway.

Lunges are the worst torture known to man. I'm properly struggling to stand...squats never did this to me!

They just have this ability to extend the set beyond physical pain and it becomes all about how much you can put up with mentally.

Yea walking lunges say.....for a about 20-30 meters with lots of weight on a barbell on your back is the worst kind of pain especially after the half way mark where you just want to give up because of the intense burn. Not to mention the nice cardio workout that comes with it. I do them twice a week and have developed excellent shape as a result. Squats had sliced my lower back in two so utter fail for me :(

Eating peanut butter

This. lol. And incline leg press (plate loaded). Got up to 360kg for my working sets, so at least I wasn't being a bitch on the thing.

Looks like my ROM issue through my shoulders wasn't quite as bad as I thought, since it was pointed out I had the bar way too low anyway haha...so now that I'm resting it in a more appropriate position as well as stretching my chest/shoulders/etc beforehand, I can do barbell squats again.....my traps are f**king obliterated though, not used to having weight resting on them >.< will get used to that though.

Best part is 100kg feels like nothing! (inb4 that asshat Markos pointing out 100kg IS nothing :P). Should be back up to a more appropriate weight in no time. Will increase 5-10kg for the next couple of sessions, then 2.5kg every session without fail from then on.

Markos, I remember you saying not long ago that nothing you see amazes you anymore. I'm curious: what's the most impressive or amazing thing you've ever seen with regard to lifting?

    • Here's the chart for fuel pressure vs. current draw, assuming your base fuel pressure is 3 bar and you run like 0.5bar boost on WOT, you should only momentarily hit 9amps here and there. (Ignore my prev post, I cannot read a chart these days it seems)
    • Those comp test results are not hideous. Whether they are accurate or not (ie, when that comp tester says 140 psi, is the real pressure120, 140 or 160?) is unknown to us. The state of the battery used to crank it over is unknown, etc etc. Many people around here would say that the absolute values and the spread are perfectly fine to just add boost and keep going. I personally would be happier with a narrower spread than that, but even the diff between 125 and 145 is not terrible. That one cylinder at 125 though, has probably copped some damage relative to the others. You should inspect the valves seeing as you've got it open. Do you know how to measure installed ring gaps? That, and an inspection of the rings themselves, is how you will determine whether they need to be replaced. If you're not good to do these things, take the block and the pistons and rings to a shop that is, and ask them for the go/no-go on them. Do the bores need a hone at all? If so, you might well be justified in getting some different pistons in order to get away from the ring supply problem. Whether you're happy to spend a lot more money right now, on more gear, rather than less money, but an amount that looks stupid given that you will only get a handful of rings in exchange for that money, is for you to decide.
    • also possibly backed up to my filler and shat down it! 🤣
    • Ok so i would love some advice here please, i purchased an R33 a few months back and its had a few mods done to the engine, its an RB25det running a Master ECU, 1200cc injectors, bigger turbo, oil cooler, oil filter relocation kit, Spool H-beam rods, acl/ross pistons. When i removed the motor from the vehicle (as its getting a respray) i thought i would compression test it and these are the following results. Cylinder 1-145psi, Cylinder 2-143psi, Cylinder 3-125psi, Cylinder 4-145psi, Cylinder 5-140psi, Cylinder 6-135psi this test was done with the motor on the ground and powering up the starter motor. I dropped the sump and found broken oil squirters on cylinder 3,5 and 6. I was told my rings are probably worn so i stripped the motor completely to get a new set of rings for it. The trouble is no one has these rings anywhere and they have to be custom made by Ross over in the states and will cost about $600+$200 delivery. My question is how can i tell if my rings are at fault and if they are still ok and is this price ok for a set of rings?
    • What sold me on Trailer Park Boys is this scene: Great stuff, just stay clear from the new Netflix production.
