everytime i look at that orange gtr i think about how absolutely edible it is...

The orange one looks amazing in the flesh. The quality of the paint is superb. Car was stripped and done right.

Sat in it today and man those recaros are comfy.

vanilla closed down before last year, BB//

thats a definite no go. Unless they got it reopened somehow..??

really? d'oh. I was there in 2007 though so it can't have been closed before that. unless I dreamed it? bummer. I liked that place.

I don't like the orange...

I'm with you. I don't like the orange either (actually, I don't like orange cars in general). Its just a bit too "flat" for my liking (compared to it being a "hyper lemon" yellow instead, to use JUN terminology). If I wanted a really vibrant, stand out colour for a stand-out car (like, for example, a Lamborghini) then I'd want it bright yellow.

That said, I don't think the GT-R should look that. Its not a "tough" colour. If I afford one the only colours I'd consider would be a bright red (not the flat almost-maroon the car comes in but more like Ferrari's), Nismo silver (the Z-Tune hue), pearl white or jet black.

350 Zeds look better

*runs....

350 what? what is that?

i'm usually not a fan of orange either but having the black wheel makes it sooooo much better, but to look tough they need the big Amuse rear wing.

Dunno how you can say it looks flat. It's one of the least flat colours i could imagine. I dunno maybe you just need a better pic of it.

maybe he means milky flat...

mmmmmmmmmm.....milkyyyy flat bright orrranggge jaffffa GTRRRRRRRR grrahhh gglluurghh

So it seems the body kits have started, but what about mechanical upgrades - is anyone doing thm yet?

Not a lot really - Most of the big tuners are still in the prototype phase with their own parts and several cars like the Mines and HKS R35's were said to be running test or prototype versions of the F-Con or VX Tuned Rom.

I overheard Trust talking about their GTR, and they actually say that the car is very difficult to modify and it will be some time before any real performance parts or upgrades are ready.

From what I saw yesterday, the HKS car had the most in the way of obvious visual engine bay changes, but these were only a pair of HKS Sequential BOV's to replace the stockers, a polished hard piping kit and HKS pod filters.

Top Secret GTR looks hotter, with bigger, darker rims it'll be awesome.

The orange R35 is equivalent to a big, oiled up pole-dancer. Too much sex, not enough foreplay.

Smokey is good at foreplay methinks :whistling:

R35 bodykits will be interesting, but i'm DHYING to see what mechanical mods the big tuners will come up with.

Can't wait to hear a 1000hp VR38 blaze through Tsukuba :D

And some Tsuchiya R35 touge videos, maybe even against R32/3/4 GTRs!

Yeah so nothing meaningful yet

Why did Trust say its hard to modify?

lol engrish <3

Ya. DCD from the UK forums tried to tell Top Secret about the spelling error but there's not much they can do in the midst of Auto Salon so it went on show exactly like that. Except with more hotties standing on it posing. Pics in a sec.

    • Nope.    Grab a varex and turn it down as you get close to home, win win?
    • So, I've had my V36 for about a month now and have already copped an "excessive exhaust noise" notification from QLD TMR, reported by someone in my local area. It's a twin as per the original, and can have a bit of a throaty note to it when idling cold 😄 and if I do get up it a bit, it can be noisy, but it did pass a roadworthy inspection before sale, so.... ... but in the interest of being a good neighbour, I do want to quieten it down a bit. Is anyone here running a quiet aftermarket cat-back on their V36 or 370Z? And the big, bold question: does an aftermarket cat-back really make much of a performance difference on these cars?
    • The wiring diagram for the R33 RB25 is freely available, and is essentially the same same as most other RBs (just with differences as to which pin # does which job). To get the ECU to power up, you just need to provide power to the ECCS relay, and have the other power feeds that come in from the top left of the wiring diagram (wrt the ECU) that give perma power to the fuel pump relay, the ECU itself, etc etc, all connected. When you put power on all these it will just come to life. It's pretty clear from the diagram what needs to happen. Just follow the lines from the 12V + supply stuff in the top left over towards the ECU. I've even posted snips of such diagrams (not for vanilla 25, I think for Neo and 26) to various threads here in the last few months, talking about what it takes to get the fuel pump and FPCM up and going. Search these up and they will help get you started on doing the same with the vanilla 25 diagram. Hell, for all I know, I've done the same with that one in years past and have forgotten.
    • Yep...so unless someone posts up the answer you will need to probe from the ECU connector to the dash plug with a multi meter in continuity mode to trace the wires.  Note the ECU has multiple - and + (and across different key settings - Battery, IGN and Start) and most likely the power is fed from the connector(s) that is normally near the left hand headlight.
    • Thanks Duncan, I am actually just trying to get the Rb turning and running with the RB25DET S2 original loom itself  I am just trying to get it going outside the body and not thinking about the S15 or trying to match anything to the S15 loom at all I am only trying to see if anyone has done this and what pin they found to be the ignition trigger and ECU+/- on the dash connector, that's about it. Thanks
