Full length clothing, enclosed shoes, and an approved helmet. Full tank of fuel is a good idea too

Personally I am a strong advocate of people wearing pants in public.

As for shoes find something with thin soles so you can feel the pedals. For anyone who may be interested Go Gear sell OMP shoes for <$100 that are the business.

Go Gear are out of most sizes of those shoes, but should have some in stock soon. I know, I've been waiting for a couple months. Everyone at the track thinks that race shoes are one of the best bang for your buck upgrades
