.. Spotted me about 12:45pm being stopped on Regency Rd from traffic roadworks, and rear-ended and my car probably written off. Still real shaken up :( ..

Holy fark, at least youre ok!! Pics when the shaking stops?

There's currently road works on the corner of Regency Rd & South Rd.

I was travelling East on Regency Rd in the middle lane - I could see as I passed Days Road that the speed limit had dropped to 25kph and I was slowing down - and then the traffic in front of me was stopped - so I stopped too.

I look back in my rear view mirror, and see a mid 90's silver Mitsubishi Lancer travelling at what must have been at least 60kph, he wasn't slowing down and didn't seem to see me. I hit my horn, and I saw him lock his brakes up - but there was no chance for him to stop. Thankfully I'd left a decent big gap between me and the ute in front of me, and I was pushed forward pretty hard, but yeah, didn't hit him.

I'm still pretty shaken up. I didn't think I was injured at the time, but by 2pm, I'd realised my side was hurting, my back was aching, my neck didn't turn right and my wrist is sore - so I've made an appointment with my GP at 4:50pm. I also have an appointment at a solicitor who deals with car accident personal injury tomorrow morning at 10am.

This wasn't the way my day was supposed to go... Thankfully I have an agreed value with Shannons, I just hope it's going to cover enough to get me another car. I honestly can't see it's repairable - the roof line is bent, the rear doors don't shut properly.

yeah +1, consolation prize is another lancer off the roads.

I take it the wanker in the lancer wasn't insured? Hope your injuries aren't too severe and you can get some coin together...

Really sucks knowing how much work you've put into that car. At least the rims are OK :P - Time to strip your mods out and get a GTR!!

-D

Damn hope that you are alright and nothing too major. On the other side of things I hope that the insurance company plays nice and just gives you what you deserve and not the fooling around they do half the times. Time to start selling some parts off and hopefully get into something better sooner. GTR on the cards maybe :P

    • Sorry to hear your HFM BM57 was faulty,  did you contact HFM I would hope they would be at least grateful for the information if there was some sort of manufacturing fault, you would hope they would be sympathetic even if your item was 2 years old if it had never been fitted. May I ask where it leaked from ?
    • Cats are called Bella, and Donna...  Like that poisonous plant And I remember your 2 monsters, I remember making a little bit of wee when you let them out... LOL I have already installed cat doors into the laundry where their kitty litter is, and the sun room, apart from the cat doors there's not going to be any permanent mounted stuff on the interior walls (interior doors are cheap and easy to replace) I will get a outdoor cat cage thingie once I finish the landscaping out back... https://catnip.com.au/ The only off limit areas are the main bedroom and the gym room....but, currently the cats are curled up in bed, in the main bedroom with the Mrs.....LOL, the off limits for the kittens to the main bedroom lasted about 5 minutes with Jackie I currently only have 1 free standing huge cat tree multiple level scratching post thingie in the lounge room, but, I will be getting another one soon now that I'm happy with the furniture layout in the back room and have a perfect spot for it
    • All of this is making it seem clear that running the Coppermix twin was definitely the way to go, especially in hindsight with how insane tariffs have gotten and the strength of the USD vs yen at the time.
    • That sounds like no chance of even importing one for road registering then Now I see why Duncan wants to check LHD rules for Targa...   I wonder how "bolt in" the AWD would be if you got one imported from the US and swapped it to an AUD one
    • Not to mention they drive like a bucket of bolts! yuck!
