tacker
I used a 35mm scraper and a lot of elbow grease 10 hours worth in fact. Ohh and not to for get that i lighten the car by half a piston today as well GRRRRRR lunched # 5 or 6. But with the 90 odd kgs i have removed in the last few weeks you really feel the difference in weight into and out of corners. Angus Smart
Who does carbon shafts out here? I was going to send away for one that was on the Uk forums, from an American company i beleive. it was around 600us i think. but since i have a 34 box in my car, i couldnt get involved with the group buy as they were made for standard lengths. the saurus car is around 1220 kg's wouldnt mind getting somewhere around that weight. giant
yeah one piece tailshaft is the go! duncan is right even if you put a new centre bearing in it, there not new for very long when driven hard! and the syptoms of a flogged center bearing will be axle tramp in most cases. Yup, the company is "ACPT".... Greenline sells them rebranded as "Trust" products: http://www.greenline.jp/catalogue/bblist.p...RUST#drivetrain About $4000 landed. Not sure if we can get them cheaper direct from the US manufacturer? Group buy? :) Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/206293-gtr-r32-weight/page/4/#findComment-3673745 Share on other sites
Risking
ive seen them considerbaly cheaper than 4 grand. A genuine Z33 shaft is only $2700 straight from nissan. I have a new shaft in my car now but was considering making up an alloy 1 peice as the box will be back out this week. The japs also claim they have sprinters below 700kg'snow with all the body work weight etc my friend has taken out of his hes still around 250kg's off that mark.. and the jap cars are still full body. yeah- but i suppose it depends how crazy ur prepared to go. the whole process obviously gets fairly expensive (with the usual diminishing returns) after you've hole-sawed every internal panel as far as you dare, replaced every piece of non-structural metal and glass with plastic or FRP, swapped parts for billet this/forged and CNC-machined that, replaced every nut and washer with titanium and alu equivalents where possible....
