damn, are v35 really gonna be as common sooner than I thought...

time for V36 anyone? :-)

i know what you mean. spotted a carribean blue coupe last tuesday at a caltex station in belconnen then a silver coupe with chrome wheels in dunlop (ACT) last saturday. used to be that i would go months before seeing 1, now it's 2 in a week.

I know im waiting to spot a V36, my dad is thinking about buying a V36 if he does i will be so jelous !

Spot another silver v35 coupe in millpark its the same man i see in it, i dont think he goes on the forums but.

Silly me forgot to post. I have seen a Silver V36 on the M4 few weeks ago. and another coupe (light Champagne colour) two weeks ago inside Japlink Motors with its front bumber being removed, had nice chrome rims with blue centre, running Toyo tyres I think. Thing had more plugs than a lego set -and that was just the front Bumper. !! Seem to be mostly silver, ones around. I have seen the graphite one months back. I think that was a dealer car. Obviously a more sophisticated engine /electronics/trim in the 36 -Personally prefer the proportion of the v35 specially the rear.

Rianto- all I seen is coupes even in the dealers. Havent seen a single sedan yet

Spotted a nice red Coupe on Rocky Point Road (Sandringham???) in Sydney.

Infinity badged with US G35 tail lights and stock wheels. Very, very dark windows. Anyone here?

That would be me :nyaanyaa:

Believe it or not, the tail lights are stock JDM... gotta love Series 3's :)

What were you driving, i've spotted the odd 35 around down south, but dont know who's who.

Are they really?? S3, they look very nice man.

I'm from Melbourne, just here in Sydney for work for a few days. I was in a taxi heading to Cronulla, next to you stuck in traffic because of the overturned truck that spilled sand all over d road, did u see it??

Ahhh so it was today?? In that case it would ave been the Mrs heading home from the lab.

Yeah i had no idea bout the accident, but i just rang her and asked her... sounds pretty full on. She said ot seemed like the truck almost managed to flip the trailer.

Well welcome to sydney, you've been pretty lucky spotting a 35 down south, theres only about 4 or so that i know of who pop up from time to time, and i'm not sure if any of them are members here.

yeah the car used to belong to an importer down this way. He bought it in with bugger all Km's and i picked it up of him about 6 months ago with about 17k km on it. 2006 model too.

Only down side is its auto.

Yeah I know what you mean.

I've had mine for about 7 months now and it has been a fantastic car, but it's an auto!!!

Yeah I think the truck must have taken that tight corner there a bit too quick, it is one of those trucks that have the extra trainer on it, double semi's so it's a big vehicle. The trailer flipped over but the truck did not, luckily.

I've done well then to spot one down here because it is a nice example of a V35, like mine with the Inifiti grille badge :(

gee you guys just won't learn do you?

stop saying auto = 'down side'

it's actually an up-side as it's a breeze to cruise in traffic jam, and it's fun to drive in tiptronic mode...

most exotics euro supercars these days have ditched the conventional manual.

the V36 auto now have paddle shift.

auto is an up side

for cruising through traffic yes its a perk, for fine car control, not so good.

even in triptronic mode the car shifts when it wants to, it just waits for you to tell it when to start thinking about it.

no shift lock, no heel toe or rev on change to effect weight shift.... its not all good news.

that said... its comfy, it has grunt, and people keep trying to figure out what the hell it is cos i've got no badges... so its kinda cool

    • On BMWs what I do because I'm more confident that I can't instantly crush the pinch welds and do thousands of USD in chassis damage is use a set of rubber jacking pads designed to protect the chassis/plastic adapter and raise a corner of the car, place the aforementioned 2x12 inch wooden planks under a tire, drop the car, then this normally gives me enough clearance to get to the front central jack point. If you don't need it to be a ramp it only needs to be 1-1.5 feet long. On my R33 I do not trust the pinch welds to tolerate any of this so I drive up on the ramps. Before then when I had to get a new floor jack that no longer cleared the front lip I removed it to get enough clearance to put the jack under it. Once you're on the ramps once you simply never let the car down to the ground. It lives on the ramps or on jack stands.
    • Nah. You need 2x taps for anything that you cannot pass the tap all the way through. And even then, there's a point in response to the above which I will come back to. The 2x taps are 1x tapered for starting, and 1x plug tap for working to the bottom of blind holes. That block's port is effectively a blind hole from the perspective of the tap. The tapered tap/tapered thread response. You don't ever leave a female hole tapered. They are supposed to be parallel, hence the wide section of a tapered tap being parallel, the existince of plug taps, etc. The male is tapered so that it will eventually get too fat for the female thread, and yes, there is some risk if the tapped length of the female hole doesn't offer enough threads, that it will not lock up very nicely. But you can always buzz off the extra length on the male thread, and the tape is very good at adding bulk to the joint.
    • Nice....looking forward to that update
    • Neg, the top one is actually for the front. The sizes are 18x10.5 +18 and 18x11 +32.   I measured many times but I'm sure I'll have problems as this is the thread for problems.
