Spotted all of ya and Lauz_90 and her dad at VCM suite on Saturday. :P

yea i was at a bar, having a few drinks then i got a sms '' spotted on bay st ''

what were you doing in port melbourne?

Just went to see my brothers friend, he owns a charcoal chicken shop like 200m up from where you were

Then I saw LEANBAC drunk on Bay St stumbling to his car so thought I'd send you an SMS lol :P

Anyone spot the cops pulling me over on King St last night?

Was pretty funny, I turned from Latrobe st onto King st to pick my girlfriend up from work at NAB. Cops followed me and put on the lights after turning the corner and pulled me over right outside my gf's work. She and all her workmates came out front and saw a cop car sitting there with light blazing and started laughing that someone got done... then she saw my car there. Think I embarrased her good and proper.

It was only a routine inspection, checking my DL and random breath test. Then on my way, not doing anythign wrong

do you live around springy south area..........there's a lot of skylines around the area, surprised they dont get spotted

i have a bad memory so by the time i get home ive totally forgot about posting up

Don't you remember spotting me that night? :D I was at the traffic lights waiting to turn onto springvale road, but then my legs started cramping and it was so bad that I couldn't keep driving, so I had to get out of the car and put my hazard lights on :D thats when I saw your car :(

But yea my girlfriend lives on in springvale south, so I go there quite often ;) and yea, I've seen plenty of skylines around that area aswell but it seems like none of them has SAU stickers on them :)

Black R33 Elsternwick nearly everyday parked in my street.. and sometimes in my spot!! :D jks lol

as i am typing this u just started car and now leaving...lol

Must work around the corner or somthing

    • Hard to say, just pop the rocker covers off and have a look if you think it's cammed. You probably need to replace the valve cover gasket/half moons anyways.
    • From my youth: GTi-R clutch change is a massive pain. The gearboxes are fragile? But the car is super cool and I want one 😢
    • Remember this is 1988 tech.
    • Driveline vibration is resolved. I ended up loosening all my engine mount and trans mount bolts, giving it a good shake then retightening everything and it's gone... Let's just say I was surprised that fixed it.  I've been happily driving it around again but unfortunately put zero time into my direct port/constant pressure WMI setup. I'm on vacation next week, so I'll try and finalize it then.  On a different note, I spent all week fuel/ignition mapping 2x 216L V16 engines. Turbo's were burning glycol and we swapped them out for larger units. We also had planned emissions testing on site, so I figured I'd be there the same week to use their instrumentation and massage any emissions issues out if needed. This was a first for me. Fuel management is similar in certain ways to automotive (i.e air density as load variable) but very different in others. It's all PLC based and AFR's are controlled by air and not fuel. They use a control valve between the turbo and air manifold to control pressure which in turn controls AFR's. Due to this, target AFR tables supplied by the OEM are in pressures and not mass which really through me off. They use air pressure vs fuel pressure tables. I also relied on an O2 concentration sensor the emissions team had in the exhaust. Ignition timing was also all over the place and we were losing a fair bit of power. They're now happily sitting at 16-40BTDC depending on load. We were making about 1600kw at 900rpm at 90% load. Engines were running a lot smoother as well.
