As part of forming the General Committee for '08 the SAU-Vic Exec Committee needs to decide on a few positions.

We have some great ideas currently, but we also seek the input from the Members on a few positions!

What we are looking for is people to EOI for the following spots we will have on the General Committee.

Only requirements are your a current financial member, and your willing to work in a great team.

Position(s) 1 - Events/Cruises/Mini Meets

We are looking for people in the following areas

S.E

West

North

Mainly to organise cruises/meets for the club in your rough area (doesn’t exactly have to be the next suburb etc).

Can be to cruise, get togethers for some few photo's, basically any other social style aspect.

If your interested post up, or PM me!

If you could include where you are located, and a brief few words about yourself and any ideas, that would be greatly helpful

Position 2 - Merchandise Manager

Are you interested in running SAU-Vic's Merchandise perhaps?

Be responsible for ordering existing stock, be involved with designing and ordering of new stock and sale items?

If you think this is your calling - again, post here or drop me a PM

This is your club - so if you think you have something else you could offer, then let us

Thanks

Ash

SAU-Vic President

i dont understand why a single person needs to be assigned to a meet position?

Cant the regular's just create a meet without passing the idea through a mini-meet executive?

edit: i wouldnt mind helping out anyways for the SE side. As im a uni-bum i have plenty of free time :D

Its just a general "area" location for a member to be in so as to aid in what we want to achieve this coming year.

Exec Committee aims so far are to branch out to all areas of Melb within the General Committee itself for Events/Social as much as possible.

eg.

We don't see much point someone in the West organising mini-meets (1-2hrs) etc for people that are S.E. is one of the few reasons behind it this choice.

The person from the West is far more suited to organising stuff out their own end of town :D

One of the other key reasons is if Committee organise/attend events etc. We are covered by the insurance also, its looking out for members in a way too!!! :)

Nothing to stop people making their own meets, we are all for it Pat.

This sounds like an awesome idea..

Coming from running events this is going to be a fantastic initiative once kicked off..

Having the ability to have multiple people planning various events across the city will enable for a grater number of members to attend events. Its always hard to accommodate everyone when you run and plan an event.

This opportunity will enable all members to attend events both in there are and also in other areas if they are up for a bigger cruise.

Also having the opportunity to have a team of social/cruise members will also enable some new and exciting events for members to attend for more than just one person with different ideas.

I think this is an awesome directive for the club and commend the initiative and its direction.

Good luck to the Committee of 2008....

ah so you are referring to sau-vic member mini-meet/events

Thought you were referring to mini-meets such as the one on tonight ;)

No worries then :D

    • Then, shorten them by 1cm, drop the car back down and have a visual look (or even better, use a spirit level across the wheel to see if you have less camber than before. You still want something like 1.5 for road use. Alternatively, if you have adjustable rear ride height (I assume you do if you have extreme camber wear), raise the suspension back to standard height until you can get it all aligned properly. Finally, keep in mind that wear on the inside of the tyre can be for incorrect toe, not just camber
    • I know I have to get a wheel alignment but until then I just need to bring the rear tyres in a bit they're wearing to the belt on the inside and brand new on the outside edge. I did shorten the arms a bit but got it wrong now after a few klms the Slip and VDC lights come on. I'd just like to get it to a point where I can drive for another week or two before getting an alignment. I've had to pay a lot of other stuff recently so doing it myself is my only option
    • You just need a wheel alignment after, so just set them to the same as current and drive to the shop. As there are 2 upper links it may also be worth adding adjustable upper front links at the same time; these reduce bump steer when you move the camber (note that setting those correctly takes a lot longer as you have to recheck the camber at each length of the toe arm, through a range of movement, so you could just ignore that unless the handling becomes unpredictable)
    • I got adjustable after market rear camber arm to replace the stock one's because got sick of having to buy new rear tyres every few months. Can anyone please let me know what the best adjustment length would be. I don't have the old ones anymore to get measurements. I'm guessing the stock measurement minus a few mm would do it. Please any help on replacing them would be fantastic I've watched the YouTube clips but no-one talks about how long to set the camber arm to.
    • Heh. I copied the link to the video direct, instead of the thread I mentioned. But the video is the main value content anyway. Otherwise, yes, in Europe, surely you'd be expected to buy local. Being whichever flavour of Michelin, Continental or Pirelli suits your usage model.
