what oil restrictor you running? we run a 1mm and a tomei baffle (and twin oil coolers) with no issues in our drift car which see's 8000rpm for long periods of time.. that high octane sump was on the cards but requires to many mods to clear the sway bar setup in our car :D tis a real nice piece of gear

Ok will take some snaps in the next day or so.

And running a 1mm restrictor on the new engine which was startred for the first time wednesday so will be a few weeks before we get on the track in anger. Still have not found the reason for engine failure yet so it a slowly slowly approach.

Its a time consuming job to work out the mounting and cutting out the sump to fit it but good news its quite good quality cast alloy so it welded up a treat. Recomend that you bolt the sump to and engine block while its welded and let it cool before removing it so it dont warp. Mine came out perfectly no twisting or leaks yet

Hey Andrew, that's the same Sump Extension I have in my GTR should do the job for you know drama, your using it primarily as a track toy right?

How's the build coming along? And the M? Latest news is Motorsport have got the parts to make the gears and are manufacturing them, availability is scheduled for end of May/ June.

edit:

fk it, since we are all gathered here today, I may as well whore a few pics of my sump. not as nice as merlins fancy one but still pretty decent.

Hey Ben,

Yep, the only road use this car will see is on its way to and from the various racetracks ;)

Build is getting there! The entire car is stripped at the moment, and waiting for its date with Bond Roll Bars :P Then comes paint, and then I can start driving it! Brakes and suspension will be coming shortly after... They are both jaw droppingly expensive ;) It seems that any parts for cars with GTR or M automatically have a 100% markup :laughing-smiley-014:

Hehe yeah I hear you, gets expensive!

What route are you going brake wise?

    • Hard to say, just pop the rocker covers off and have a look if you think it's cammed. You probably need to replace the valve cover gasket/half moons anyways.

    • Driveline vibration is resolved. I ended up loosening all my engine mount and trans mount bolts, giving it a good shake then retightening everything and it's gone... Let's just say I was surprised that fixed it.  I've been happily driving it around again but unfortunately put zero time into my direct port/constant pressure WMI setup. I'm on vacation next week, so I'll try and finalize it then.  On a different note, I spent all week fuel/ignition mapping 2x 216L V16 engines. Turbo's were burning glycol and we swapped them out for larger units. We also had planned emissions testing on site, so I figured I'd be there the same week to use their instrumentation and massage any emissions issues out if needed. This was a first for me. Fuel management is similar in certain ways to automotive (i.e air density as load variable) but very different in others. It's all PLC based and AFR's are controlled by air and not fuel. They use a control valve between the turbo and air manifold to control pressure which in turn controls AFR's. Due to this, target AFR tables supplied by the OEM are in pressures and not mass which really through me off. They use air pressure vs fuel pressure tables. I also relied on an O2 concentration sensor the emissions team had in the exhaust. Ignition timing was also all over the place and we were losing a fair bit of power. They're now happily sitting at 16-40BTDC depending on load. We were making about 1600kw at 900rpm at 90% load. Engines were running a lot smoother as well.
    • heh, aint no R32 ever meeting modern targa cage rules unless the driver is veeeery short OP, good luck with the sale, since its already in the land of freedom I'm sure you will find a good buyer.
