yes, you need 2. some people do the dodge and just bridge two vac lines and then also split the signal from one map sensor to fee the twin inputs but it's not the way to go. just order another apexi map sensor and you'll be sweet.

^^ the MAP senders on the collection tube, so single vs twin is irreverent.

Still though, I wonder if two are needed. Most Autronic / Motec / Haltech setups i see, use only one MAP sender (none, have the difficulty of multi throttles though admittedly)

Seeing as some people don't get good results with the sender tap'd and bolted to the Apexi recommended collection tube, but need to make an aftermarket zone (that reflects the average vac/boost of each inlet runner)... surely one sender, bridged at the ECU (like ppl do with AFM's) could work just as well...

....but the std map sensors are 3 bar absolute pressure

what most peoeple miss is the "absolute pressure" bit which means 1 bar vacuum and 2 bar positive

most people assume that because its a 3 bar map sensor, it can read upto 3 bar pressure

so if you want to run more than 2 bar boost then youll need to upgrade the map sensors

with datalogit you can plug in the GM 5 bar map sensor off the bat and it works fine (the rx7/evo guys do this)

The number of turbos is irrelevant as the MAP sensors are mounted between the inlet manifold (plenum) and the head.

It is also important to fit both as the PFC D-Jetro internal programming appears to be quite complex and expects 2 outputs. I suspect that there is allowance for reverberation through the manifold. As an example, if you reverse the connections between the #3 and #4 map sensor the idle is crap (didn't want to risk putting it under load).

Thats pretty interesting, swapping them around, messes up the idle.

Yep - it's the position of the map sensors. One is adjacent to #3 cylinder and the other to #4.

i got another question guys... how much does it cost to install a power fc d jetro into an r32 gtr? my mechanic said he cant find something on the intake plenum and has to take the plenum out.. will take about 6-7 hours labour... this definitely does not seem right to me... anyone else know?i think he is looking for drill points or something?

to do it properly requires throttle bodys to be removed, DONT SKIMP and do it any other way the tuning results are very AVERAGE.... if your lazy get AFM PFC as it will tune up better than a incorrectley setup d-jetro... i learnt this years ago when i offered to fit one up for free..... 50 or so djetro (all models) tunes and installs later ive learnt what works and what doesnt... lol

Bumping an old thread but just got a djetro. Where is the best place to tap the feed for the map senders? Install instructions say #3 and #4 but does anyone have any pictures of where specifically to drill?

Also looking at paulr33's faq it say to splice the map sensors into the afm wiring, but then it says to splice into the boost control kit wiring. Which one is it? I also have the boost control kit which i'll be using.

    • I used to have Walbro 255's when they were a pretty common update. (or were they 044? 040?) In any case I had a dirty tank. I thought the tank was good, but I would find the filter would clog in maybe ~50km of driving. If the issue persists, well, your fuel system or tank has crap in it that the pump is sucking up.
    • Hi. Ok thanks for the info. I/we do not know what tune is on that Nistune ECU so it is why there is stock ECU and that Nistune is for later when the car is done. I have guy who tunes Nistune and other ECU so i will then take it to him to see and properly tune for the car   And for the update. On 99,9% it is bad fuel pump. Which is wierd cuz it is like 2 years old(brand new walbro 255) and that filter (also brand new) was dirty.  I was alwaya pumped premium(100) on very good petrol station so i dont know how is that possible...

    • Stock ECU (or more accurately stock tune) absolutely refuses to go over 10psi and behaves like you have seen. The Nistune is the same if it is the stock tune. If the Nistune chip has been tuned, the resulting tune could be literally anything for any combination of parts. The Nistune just makes the stock ECU Tunable.
    • So stock ECU does not like anything above 10 psi?  That Nistune one is just for "try" if it will be any different, I know it need to be tune for that. I know but YOU may know about these problem but i/we dont. They few little Skylines here let alone people who know anything about tham so that is why iam asking here
