How r ya guys,

Im looking at putting a short/quick shifter into my car and was just wondering what people have used and what they think of it.

the 2 inparticular im looking at are the C's shifter and the Nismo Quick shifter(there are 2, this is the 25% less throw one, not the 10%).

Does anyone know how much the C's lessen the throw? The only thing nismo one is worth about twince the c's. But thats not really a concern over quality

cheers

James

Nismo make 2 for the R32 GTR Quick shifter(25%) and the slit shifter(10%, i think thats the name) i believe

looks like the C's maybe the way to go, cheers guys

where are you getting C's anyway?

they were out of business when i had mine put in (more than 2 yrs ago???)

go C's - love it

yeah, im getting a nismo replacement for my r33 GTST, but yeah... in the nismo catalouge it does say throw is reduce from standard from about 20 or 30%...

cant rember wat though.

lol

and its says a bunch for other crap..like how its reinforced etc...

i found one on ebay performance store for $250...

anybody no a cheaper place to get one??

but thats a pretty good price i reckon :)

c's shifter are fairly easy to get if u know where, got mine for $150 delivered, brand new from japan.

A lot of people I've spoken to over there say that the nismo one is a little nicer on the gearbox as it doesn't shorten the through all that much.

The C's one is a lot firmer and as 'yawn' said, it does take more energy to shift.

My mate has a nismo one in his S14 (diff gearbox i know) but it does fall into gear a bit easy than my C's. That said, mine is lot shorter throw.

I love C's shifters though, had them in all my cars and never a complaint.

i THINK i'm running a nismo... (came with car) its a short thorw but no where near as short as bombtracks c's kit!

works nice... might go a c's tho... maybe drive bt's car a bit more to decide

  • 3 months later...

Any more feed back about the C's shifters in RB25 GTST box? Just trying to decide whether to go nismo (smoother ???) or the C's (shorter but bit rougher????) don’t know I have never used either, both are about the same price.

how do you find out what brand of shifters you got in the car you bought if it already came with 1 and the seller do not have a clue what it is..

nismo ones are normally a blackish colour or flat metal, the C's shifters are chromed. but hard to tell really if its a rip off or not.

Ive got one that was a C's at one stage, then fiddled with. If you're in 1st then want 2nd its a 10mm movement. I love it!!!!!

Interesting.. in what way did you fiddle with it? (and I hope it wasn't in a priestly way :P)

    • Hi...so a "development" here aswell The swap is "done" and car went "test drive" BUT it seems the clutch(maybe gearbox?) is a little bit sad? I bought this clutch kit https://justjap.com/products/xtreme-heavy-duty-organic-clutch-flywheel-kit-nissan-skyline-r31-r32-r33-push-type "Problem" is that the first gear is hard to put into and it seems that the clutch is not disengaged. It was not the problem with the old clutch...(or like sometime the first gear would not get as easy specialy when the fluid was cold) So? Can it be like...bad "install" or is the clutch wrong ((it should not have been) i done research to get the right one) Or is this "normal" with new clutch and needs to be break in?
    • @Duncan I can try  and thanks i did not thought about VIN and part numbers for 33/34. @GTSBoy yeah it looks like iam gonna do that
    • Forgot to include this but this is the mid section of my steering rack that looks like it has a thread/can be turned with that notch mentioned in the post:
    • Hey everyone, Wanted to pick some brains about this issue I'm having with rebuilding my 33 rack (PN is 49001-19U05). All of the tutorials/videos I've seen online are either R34 or S Chassis racks which seem to be pretty straightforward to disassemble but this process doesnt carry over to my rack. Few of the key differences that I've noted The pinion shaft on the other racks bolt on with 3 torx bolts: Whereas my rack bolts on with 2 allen head bolts: These changes are pretty inconsequential but the main difference is how you pull the actual rack out of the housing. The other skyline/s chassis racks can be taken out by tapping the rack out of the body with a socket and it just slides right out. I'm unable to do that with my rack because there's a hard stop at the end that doesn't let the seal/shaft be tapped out. Can also see a difference in the other end of the rack where mine has a notch that looks like you're able to use a big wrench to unthread 2 halves of the rack whereas the other racks are just kinda set in with a punch. My rack: Other racks: TLDR; Wanted to know if anyone has rebuilt this specific model of steering rack for the R33 and if there were any steps to getting it done easier or if I should just give this to a professional to get done. Sorry if this post is a bit messy, first one I've done.
    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
