Sorry i got lost... what do pulsars have to do with W427's again?

Anyway

I can understand saying Holdens are technologically inferior

I can understand saying you don't want to pay 150k for it (I personally wouldn't... investment? Theres better things to invest in than cars. No-one bought a GTHO back in the 50s thinking they were going to sell it in 50 years time for 10x the price)

BUT.

I disagree with people bagging Holden for selling it at 150k. Why wouldn't they? Holden has a monopoly on bogans. Bogans will buy the car = PROFIT. Smart move.

If you could sell your bike for 150K wouldn't you? Of course you would.

Love the avatar!

Hail to the King baby!

Really, bugger  Not my intention to convince anyone of anything. Just pointing out that HOLDEN + SHIT = SHIT HSV is kind of ignorant. If you really believe that. To me no car is really worth that sort of money, which doesnt matter as they obviously are not marketing any of these sorts of cars at me. Again thats the point, many on this board dont get the HSVs etc, we are all here because our respective Skylines/rides are our sorts of cars. Im just trying to highlight that there is a market for these cars and Holden like any smart business are serving it.

As for me being on a Skylines forum i love Skylines, 240Zs etc. The new GTR whilst i respect and marvel at its awesome ability. Its not my style of car, and the rest of the Nissan range, again i am not a soccer mum

I get your point, and it's true.

HSV are on our (the performance guys) side, and saying they're a shit car is bullshit.

I get the HSV's, and hope their in business for a long, long time

I mean, what else will GTR's have to eat, eh??? Fibre is good for you... ;-)

Just kidding!!!

Do not feed the trolls boys and gurls...do NOT feed the trolls.

I cant believe everyone is being so tolerant to someone who just posted 5 loads of utter, nonsensical garbage.

this thread reminds me of the conversations my mates and I have at the local Autobarn carpark most friday nights, I feel it could continue forever...

and yes obvious troll is obvious but I find them the most entertaining kind, he does have a point about some Skyline drivers being supremely arrogant though, I copped a lot of flak from them when i was driving my SS on a regular basis, course as soon as I get my Skyline they found it hard to wrap their heads around the concept that a 'bogan' would buy such a car!

Mind you if I had a W427 I'd be thinking myself rather cool, imagine one of those with a turbo or two

Also meant to add, its not just bogans who buy HSV's, a lot of muzza's here own clubsports, typhoons etc, there'd be a LOT of interest from them in this particular car, cause to them its all about who's fastest in a straight line, or who's spent the most on mods etc, its a continual game of oneupmanship, and to say that one has a 7 litre, well that'd take a bit to take down!

LOL, just like the general Australian public, SAU are tolerant to the beliefs and lifestyles of others

Out of interest Adam, you have made it clear what you think about ppl buyign HSVs, what are you driving at the moment ?

Roy, why are you being such a dick?

You know damned well what i drive and the capabilities that it has.

Oh yeah while i remember - before i slip into an alcohol induced coma -

What is the difference between a muzza and a bogan anyway?

Dick? Innocent enough question. I have no idea what you drive. You talk of aawd Fonzie?!?! I cant see how that is possible without some serious sniffing salts :( I ask because i am curios, people are happy to make assumptions about people because they want a HSV, so curious to know what car you drive.

Taken from urbandictionary.com

A muzza is a young male, usually of southern European decent (even though they've never been there), that are born and raised Melbournians. Living in middle-class western and northern suburbs they are depicted by their cars..

Usually canary yellow VL turbos (often built by the Rajabs), VN 5 litre's, VQ Statesmans or the R33 Skyline..

Baseball caps are constantly worn alongside hair product, but to make sure they dont wreck their hair the caps sit on top of their hair (and away from the fringe). Bum-bags are a must to hold all your mobile phones (one for the bros, and one for the hoes), and also some change to spend at maccas.

They walk like they're trying to immitate a scarecrow, or like they're holding a bucket of water in each hand (with a subtle swaying motion) This is often a result of going to the gym once or twice and thinking your lats are so huge you cant put your arms straight down your side.

As soon as there's any drizzle outside muzzas call all their bros and go do some demos in your cars.. ripping it up in the wet is considered "free demos" because it doesnt bald your tires as much.

Muzzas are often highschool dropouts currently doing apprentiships, with every cent they earn going towards their cars (mostly on tires and petrol), and they end up wondering why all their bros who went to uni end up driving mercs and picking up chicks while they stick to their teeny bopper marias (which are the 13-16yr old female equivalent of a muzza) who are the only chicks who go for these guys.

Common hangouts are Bell St maccas, or any other Hungry Jacks 24hour store carpark, but the most common place (which is guarenteed to give you some pure muzzas) has got to be Chapel Street on Friday and Saturday nights. Doing constant and repetitious laps of this popular shopping strip is a must, and ensures many hours of sitting in traffic at 3am on a Saturday morning.

Ugly and un-economical,

I got nothing else bar the fact it stinks like a fetid ass..

Sorry I'm being lazy, cbf re-iterating the obvious.

Difference between Bogan and Muzza, A Bogan will bash you for sport, The Muzza will mug you while trying to ask your sister out..then call her a whore for saying no :)

The car had barely arrived in country and was sorted on time and you're asking why they didn't win on it's first ever Targa Tasmania outing?

You must have had high hopes for the car if you think any first time entrant gonna's clean up on their first attempt. This is where the terms 'race prep' and 'sorting' come from.

I think you may also have overlooked the point that you're saying a technological all-wheel-drive terror is worse than other cars because it got beaten by...some other technological all-wheel drive terrors.

Maybe they just need some more sorting on 'Nurburger'...LOL!!!

You should enter your VL next year. You're bound to win - and even on your first attempt!

Some people did buy Ho's as investments, I know of one with under 5000 miles on it.

When the car was new in 70 they cost around $4500 now almost 40yrs on the best of the phase 3's can pull over 100x the original price.

If you can find me one for 10x original price I'll pay cash first thing Monday morning for it.

This reminds me of that goose who bought the "last" Monaro ever built & paid stupid money for it...Last one till next time ofcourse.

Strange people these Holden folk.

start a petition n send it to top gear when they come to australia for them to compair the r35 to te w427

Well, Top Gear Australian has just been announced, including it's presenters. I reckon that comparisons like this will definitely happen.

It will be cool to see.

    • Shouldn't need a "base map" for anything other than guidance to ignition tuning. You just need the engine capacity right, the injector size right, and something, almost anything, for a VE map. On an NA engine, fuelling is almost completely a function of load signal & rpm. It should run and drive with a completely flat fuel map. It will be too lean under load, but that's easily fixed. We used to tune all ECUs without any base map. There were no such things (until someone had tuned a near stock engine on one, and then they had a "base map".
    • What did you actually buy/how much did it cost? When I got mine in like.. 2017...? 2019? the aim was to run Torque for gauges via ODB2 and things like Track Addict/Laptimers/Dashcam/Reversecam/Spotify etc. Mine never broke, but I wonder if you've got the same needs (it sounds like it). Cause I liked the idea of being able to do anything with it. That said, yours also cost 3x the cost of what I spent so... food for thought.
    • For me there is a massive difference in manufacturer or big brand crippled android (Sony, Kenwood etc) vs the sort of thing I've installed here, which is basically just a tablet in DIN form factor with open Android, and the other model of course is mirroring - Android Auto/Carplay. I hate the locked down manufacturer and AA options where they decide what apps I'm allowed to install, including the Launcher but also importantly things like Ecutek (for this car) or Real Dash (Stagea) are not supported. Plus those crippled versions tend to be slower due to both overheads and lower spec hardware. On the other hand, when this breaks I'll likely be in trouble for support....but how is that different to owning an Infiniti anyway
    • Yeah, Duncan is helping sell me back to Android devices. I've hated the whole Android head units due to their speed issues. Even in my old Hyundai Kona (2022 model), it behind the scenes was Android, and slow and shitty to start up. Once running wasn't bad, but still a good 15 to 30 seconds.
    • My roof rails are off atm on the E39 until the rust is fixed. I did find another little bit of surface rust under the rails when I took them off. As @soviet_merlin said I'd just leave them alone unless you're planning on ensuring they're properly sealed. I was on the fence about leaving them off as the delete is still a thing in BMW E39's but I feel like the car is missing something (er, it is, der) with them off and I'm looking forward to putting them back on.
