Hey all, time for a rant so bare with me.

Last night on my way home from work in my daily driver (the AE92 if anyone seen it, it looks like a POS but its reliable as) i was driving along Grand Junction road, heading towards the Gepps Cross intersection. was doing the speed limit and there wasn't much traffic around me, the other side of the road however was peak hour and i noticed this Mitsu Colt (old one) doing the duck and weave in traffic... didn't think much of it but all of a sudden the rear wheels lock up and the thing is way out of control. They mount the median strip, cross is and right into my oncoming path.

Now im already doing 60k's.. i barely had time to hit the brakes, i did but afterwards we looked and there were no lock up marks so i hit them at a full 60 K an hour. I T boned the colt right in the passenger door.... hit it goddamn hard that it pushed the car up the road and then they flew up the fence at the crossing right out the front of the Gepps Cross girls school.

my first thoughts were, its a stolen car and they were taking evasive action to get away hence the handbrake car, but the driver gets out and its some feral sailsbury chick, and she pissbolts down the road... in tears as far as i can see. The passenger gets out and i managed to get my car off the road.. was only just drivable.

the passenger was the boyfriend of the driver and admitted to me that they were having an argument and he pulled the handbrake up on her, and she lost it. pretty f**king dumb i thought and i abused the guy some. the guy looked like a total derro... mohawk, daggy clothes, and a real general allround drop kick from the north.

anyway cops rock up... and and even longer story short, the driver which was the chick, had never had a drivers license in her life, no insurance, they both got fines and the cop was an absolute champ about the whole thing... he was on my side 100%, gave me all their details, and said "do what you want with the details but baseball bats doesn't always get your money back but it sure is fun" with a sly wink hahaha gotta laugh at that!

So yeah... I'm only pissed off because i have no daily driver now and no transport too and from work.. to make matters worse i have to pay a 250 tow fee + impound yard fee, when i wasn't even at fault. Sure i could claim it back off the guys that caused the acco, but these two don't strike me as people in the work force... prob dole budging scum...

Anyone know of a car for sale, im after something around the 2-3K mark for something reasonable.. sure i could et a 300 buck shitter again but i rather something semi ok.

thats a shitter of a situation mate!! thank goodness you managed to run into a top cop!! the only daily i can think off is a dude from tafe selling his 2001 hyundai not sure what kind it is but its a tini bit bigger than an excel.. 150,000 kms and he wants 4,500 for it... but we all know hyundais are shitters and not worth touching with a ten foot barge pole. maybe try find yourself a low kms r31 altho noth the best on fuel... pulsar??

anyway good luck dude and if you can try get victums of crime compensation.

Wow, that sucks buddy. Doesn't sound too promising about getting any money off them but it may be worth a try. The dickhead boyfriend should think next time, first for letting an unlicensed person drive and second for ripping up a handbrake on an unsuspecting driver. Luckily you got a good cop, at least that helped the situation some!

I can not believe these clowns... they have no respect at all for others on the road. Absolute scrubbers...

Good to hear you didnt cop any injuries mate. Shame about your daily though. Just another headache for ya :)

sucks to hear Simon. Important thing is that you weren't injured though.

Still gotta get you to fit my water pump one of these days .... my temp is not a problem in winter-time, so no great hurry.

so even if ur not at fault and the other dudes a broke ass u cant do nothing about it ?

Correct.....do a bit of spying on the guy and his girl & see if they have any assets worth grabbing.

You'll be amazed how many outstanding traffic offences have not been paid and never will be and nothing will ever happen to them.......they have no money, they don't show up for court or community service and jails are way too full for anyone doing 10 km over the speed limit. They lose their licence by post but still drive because they "apparently" never received anything in the mail....rarely do cops knock on their door unless in was "speed dangerous" or a similar offence and even if they do knock on their door, they never answer so cops give up eventually for minor stuff.

you can take them to court and they have to pay you back what they can afford even if its $5 a week.

My daily was t-boned not long ago by a guy that works in a crash shop in work hours so his work place is doing my insurance but because i hade no insurace i have to do all the running around.

too true....if you can find them and serve them and even then you're not guaranteed they're going to show up to any hearing.

You'll be surprised how many are of "no fixed address".

Sorry to hear that. Bloody deros!!

That's exactly what happened to me. Some dumb b**ch ran into the back of me and because I only have 3rd party it was up to me to sort out everything. Massive pain in the butt.

    • You just need to remove the compressor housing, not the entire turbo. I would not be drilling and tapping anything with the housing still on anyways.
    • So, I put my boat on a boat. First of all, I'm going to come out and say it. Why is Tasmania not considered a holy goal, an apex that all road-legal modified cars go to, to experience? This place is an absolute wonderland of titanic proportions. If people are already getting club runs for once in a lifetime 30 person cruises to Tassy then I've never seemed to see it. It is like someone replaced the entire place with an idyllic wonderland for cars, and all of the people living there with paid actors who are kind, humble, and friendly. Dear god. After doing a lap of almost all of the place I've found that it's a great way to find out all of the little things that the car isn't doing quite right and a great way to figure it all out. All in all, I drove for 4 hours a day for a week and nothing broke. I didn't even need to open the engine bay. This is by all means a great success, but it has left me with a list of things to potentially address. I also now have a 3D printed wheel fitment tool which annoyingly hasn't got any threads in it to actually assemble it. I might be able to tape it together to check the sizing I actually want to use, but it'll likely involving pulling the shocks out to properly measure travel at least at the front, and probably raise the car while I'm at it, at least in the rear. I scraped on quite a few things and I'm not sure how else to go about it. I was taking anything with a bump at what felt like 89 degree angles. And address those 10 other tasks. And wash the car. God damn it is dirty. And somehow, the weather was perfect the entire time - And because I was on the top of Mt Wellington it turns out it was very much about to freeze up there. I did something I typically never do and took some photos up there in what must have been -10 and the foggy felt like suspended ice, rather than mere fog. If you own a car in Australia, you owe it to yourself to do it.
    • Damn that was hilarious, and a bit embarrassing for skylines in general 😂 vintage car life ey. That R33 really stomped. Pretty entertaining stuff
    • Hi, I have a r32 gtr transmission. Does any of you guys have an idea how much power it will hold with the billet center plate and stock gearset? At what power level and use did yours brake with or without billet plate? Thanks, Oystein Lovik
    • Saw this replica police car based on a Mitsubishi Starion XX parked next to a 'police box' (it's literally a box) in Hirohata, Himeji City in Hyogo prefecture the other day. It's owned by Morii-san who is a local Mitsubishi Starion enthusiast. According to a local radio station blog post, he always wanted to make a police car himself based on ones he saw in his favourite Manga comics.  As it's illegal to modify a car to look like a police car and drive on the road, Morii-san tried many times to get permission from Aboshi police station headquarters nearby. They refused initially by after they got tired of that they granted him permission. However, the car can only be displayed on private property and obviously can't be registered as long as the police livery is present. The car was completed at a cost of 1.5 million yen (US$ 10,000) in addition to the car cost. A location was chosen outside Hirohata Police box where the car can easily been seen from the street. Morii-san has two other Starion road cars, both widebody GSR-VRs.
