I'm with you! Had a look at my BCM but I'm stuffed if I can find a BCM code on it........

Any ideas????

Or if I just send every number on it to Nissan Japan will they figure out the rest?

Thanks

Mark

I can't see the serial number on it. It's got everything else including the part number. Maybe it's under the sticker or on another sticker somewhere. It's a 5 character combination of digits and letters or just digits.

Tom

Well - I just heard back from Nissan Japan. Even though they couldn't help me their customer service is impressive!

"Thank you for your email dated November 12, 2008, concerning your Nissan Skyline. First of all, we appreciate your patronage of our products.

With regard to your inquiry, we regret to inform you that there is no BCM number in the photo you sent to us, and that vehicles manufactured after 2001 have no BCM label on them.

In that case, the only way to get PIN code is to read the BCM code by “CONSULT” that Nissan dealers have. Please note that the “CONSULT”

available in Australia may not be able to read the BCM code since your Skyline is a Japanese specification model.

Your understanding would be much appreciated."

Hmmm. Most here have said that Nissan dealers here can't help much. Am I destined to have one key forever? Any ideas?

Thanks

Mark

The good new for me is, it's only $150 to get the key made and programmed. That's the normal key without the buttons to open/close the door and the boot. But I still have another problem, When I insert the key to start my car, I have a device I need to push for 2 sec before I get full batt power, then I can step on the clutch before I can start her up. So do I need a aftermarket alarm install and throw out the button thing?

I got around to having a look @ my kick panel today and took a pic

Lucky for me my numbers and sticker look almost the same as FlyingEL

Tom could you please check out the picture I have attached and let me know if you can work the same magic you did for FlyingEL

Cheers

Stuart

I've PMed you your PIN. Let us know when you get your new key programmed.

Cheers,

Tom

no. that is driven off the door locks. the OE remote key has nothing to do with it. piss if off before it strands you.

Argh.... I hate it when I have to play with eletrical things on cars :S

ill have a go on my next day off next week to disconect it

Any one know exactly when they started to put transponders in the keys? I got a 2003 (march I think) and I got regular keys cut and the work to open my doors and start the car. My original key looks like the one posted above with the fob and key in one, Trunk unlock car unlock and car lock.

2001 HV35 didnt have it. 2003 PV35 and CPV35 did have it.

Hi Chris - does that mean my 2001 HV35 300GT doesn't have a transponder key and I can just get a Nissan key that fits cut without worrying about the PIN Code (which I can't get anyway as the serial number isn't on the BCM)?

Thanks

Mark

this SHOULD be the case. take a snap of your key barrel with the trim ring removed OR copy the key you have onto a $5 blank with your original key and try to start the car with it. make sure the original is elsewhere when you start the car. if it starts then no issue. if not the NATS unit is there. (I'm fairly sure the former is the case.)

    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
