Hi all, my gtst makes about 180 rwkw with basic mods - air filter, fmic, power fc, profec spec b (12psi), 3 inch turbo back exhaust.

I want to take it to the next level but i'm not totally sure what to get. I know i need to upgrade my fuel system so a new fuel pump, maybe a fuel regulator?

550cc injectors and a GTRS turbo.

I would like around 230-250 rwkw, not a whole lot but enough to beat the odd GTR.

To make the power you can go for a few turbos. High flow (i.e. GCG), GTR-S, GT3071R, there's others.

Fuel pump is a must, regulator is probably a good idea and an ECU.

Yep 550's will be needed.

Then a retune and you're done. Your clutch will die in the ass if it's stock, so don't forget that.

You'd put up a fight against a GTR, but don't forget they can dump the shit outta their clutches and keep good traction off the line.

:whistling:

Nismo/Tomei fuel pump

Nismo injectors

Power FC

Z32 AFM

Highflow,GT 2876 or HKS 2835

Upgraded clutch

Upgraded Brakes

Thats the basics, there is a good 6-7k just in parts. Its all a matter of how far you want to go with the car and how much you want to spend.

Once you know what you want from the car and how much you want to spend, the rest is easy.

Well a stock turbo'd GTR will still give you a hosing...

Either way, there are a lot of threads on basic turbo upgrades from

GCG hiflows

GT-RS

2835

TD06

And other similar turbos that will fit the bill for what you are after.

Fuel reg = waste of money. Always has been when you can run over 400rwkw off the stock one

The Car is my daily, track everything use.

Want about 250rwkw.

I really like and want response.

Not too much coin to spend!

Another question, i want to get the cheap walbro fuel pump off Sliding performance because i don't want all that much power, should i be looking at a nismo one or not bother?

:D

Fuel Pump

Injectors

Turbos (would recommend GT-SS's for better response)

ECU Retune

Clutch (Don't ignore this like most power chasers do - people attempting to race other cars generally look extremely silly when something goes bang and they don't move from the lights)

Brakes (Also don't ignore - people attempting to race other cars and end up hitting solid objects also look quite silly)

    • When you crank your car, and hit it with a timing light, can you see a steady crank timing?
    • Oh, forgot to add, A few months ago I was getting mixture codes and the car was using crap loads of fuel. You could smell the unburned fuel in the exhaust, it was crazy strong. Economy was over 17.5 l/100 and usually around 19. I smoked the engine and found a leaky CCV hose which I replaced and then I replaced my two pre cat O2 sensors, I also replaced the MAF. This fixed my mixture codes and improved my exonomy but I'm still 14 - 15 l/100 when pottering about town so something is still amiss. Throttle response is much better and it has more pep but I'd like to know why it's still so thirsty (and I'm hoping that whatever it is gives me a bit more poke).

    • Hello all, currently finishing up a rb25 swap into my s14. Having issues with starting, car has spark (confirmed by pulling a plug and watching it spark), has fuel(confirmed by checking pulse/voltage at injectors all spark plugs are soaked in fuel). Car cranks over and pops into the exhaust with a heavy fuel smell but no attempt to start or run, I have torn the timing cover off and triple confirmed timing, turned the CAS in multiple spots both directions, attempted to start with coolant temp and maf unplugged, checked my fuel lines and made sure they weren’t backwards, checked voltage at cas/injectors/coilpacks, made sure all the grounds in the harness are connected and added a few grounding straps (1 from chassis to block, 1 from chassis to head, and 1 from chassis to igniter chip) I am getting stumped here. As a last ditch effort I made a full grounding harness tonight that’s going to run from the battery and add an extra ground from the battery onto the coil pack harness/igniter chip/ intake manifold/ Wiring specialties harness ground/ and alternator. I’m hoping maybe the grounding harness will fix it here but posting here to see if anyone has any other ideas on what else I can check. My fuel pressure is unknown right gauge will be here tomorrow.  IMG_3206.mov
