Well the shit's coming down tonight !!

5:20pm A woman named Jo calls 2GB Talk-Back Radio Sydney and complains about how she was tailgated by a 4WD in an overtaking lane, so she wouldn't go across till a 'pink bubble' started to flash inside it; and so in a panic she pulls over to lane 2 to let the driver pass in what was a RSPCA vehicle that then shot off into the distance like a 'bat out of hell'!

5:38pm A woman named Kylie calls 2GB to tell the 'true story' about what happened on lane 3 of the F3. She says that this idiot of a driver 6 cars further ahead was blocking traffic and doing 85Km/Hr in a 110Km/Hr zone. The cars in front of Kylie needless to say are getting very very annoyed after flashing their lights and ultimately overtaking on lane 2 (illegally in NSW). So when Kylie is next in line and this driver still wouldn't pull over, she flashed her bubble and the driver (ie. Jo) finally pulls over after another Km.

5:40pm Jo calls back and disputes Kylie's version to say that she was hemmed in by cars in lane 2. She also said that she tried to call the RSPCA only to find that they were closed. Philip Clarke the drive-time 2GB Jock asks Jo to hold on whilst he inserts an Advert.

5:45pm Philip in the meantime has called Kylie to come back on the line to talk directly to Jo

So in the 3-Way, Clarke finally says that he can't resolve this issue himself - an issue that appeals to the contributors to this thread !

I mean, some hogs don't realise that they're holding up traffic until they're flashed and then they pull over.

Some hogs don't realise that they're hogging until they're flashed and then they stay right where they are. PASSIVE ROAD RAGE !

Some hogs don't realise that they're hogging until they're flashed and then they retaliate. ACTIVE ROAD RAGE !!

And some hogs know that they're hogging and.... Well you can guess the rest. ACTIVE ROAD RAGE !!!

Cheers

haha i only heard Jo's 1st call yesterday and she starts off with 'Im driving down the F3 in the right hand lane'

bwahaha Phillip replies "why were you in the right hand lane?" Jo says"oh i was overtaking"

then i switched off.

cool, another 2gb listener.

its a mix bag really. you could put the same driver in a skyline and they would do the same thing...ha

hmmm - true BUT these camry/corolla drivers don't drive skylines :(

on a side note people that drive European cars in general take the fast lane, and he moment you try to overtake from the left they speed up - wtf is that??? once i lost it and gave them a good look at my stove top tail lights

I say right lane hogs are a risk to all drivers as people are forced to overtake from the left :D

A huge convoy of cars were crawling along US Highway #32 and when the police motorcyclist finally reached the offending hog, he pulled her over and said,

COPPER: What's the idea of going so slow?

OLD LADY DRIVER: But I always stick to the speed limit officer!

COPPER: So what do you think the speed limit is lady?

OLD LADY DRIVER: Over there - that sign - it says '32'

COPPER: No No No! That's the highway number!

OLD LADY DRIVER: Oh!

Then turning to walk back to his cycle & noticing the petrified perspiring passengers in the back seat, he added,

COPPER: And what's wrong with you lot?

PASSENGER: Er Um, We just came off Highway #145 !!

hmmm - true BUT these camry/corolla drivers don't drive skylines

well, ,they paid a lot of money to have the "best" car, not exactly a good feeling when a car 1/10 its rrp so effortlessly overtakes them.

I witnessed something incredible yesterday. My brother and I were towing the race car down the M5. As we were approaching the E-way fast lane, a lot of cars were slowing down and pulling into the right lane. Up ahead was a new tarago with all the family inside with its hazards on, slowing down to a complete stop in the E-way fastlane. We got held up behind them as we couldn't pull out fast enough with the car trailer. I was convinced they had broken down, but my brother thought otherwise and beeped and shouted expletives at them when we finally got a chance to pull out. Just as we drove past, we saw them finally find their e-tag and put it up on the window.

So to recap, they stopped in the middle of a highway lane, risking the lives of everyone around them and the 7 or 8 family members in their car, to find their e-tag and save themselves a $10 fine.

People continue to amaze me with their stupidity.

Me. Nah not really but there are a lot of ignorant people out there.

I will sit in the right lane doing the limit - 5 kms over. This is not illegal, im doing the speed limit. Yet people cane it up my ass (to make me go faster). So Fu(k them, i slow down. Just because "im in the R" or any other bullcrap reason for speeding, why the fu(k would i move out the way for you?!?

As for the type of car that do this, mostly work vans and 4wd's.

Gotta love the look on peoples faces when they push their way into the left to get past you but they cant cos the traffic flow is to slow :(

the 1s that really bug me r the drivers out here in the country that sit on about 80 in a 100 zone on the highways when they r single lane but when they r overtaking lanes they will speed up 2 like 110 2 120 2 keep u behind them then slow down 2 80 again.

one day when this was hapening i had a highway behind me and he pulled out 2 go around me so i let him in then he pulled the car over and when i saw him at the pub later i was talking 2 him and he said that he booked the person for it as there was about 12 cars behind me.

The worst 1 i have been with is i was behind a car doing this a gave him a little flash with the high beam once again had i cop behind me but this time was an undercover when we got to the overtaking lane i went 2 overtake him and when i got beside him the prick swerved 2 hit me off the road i dont know howhe didnt hit me but i ended up on the wrong side of the road. i pulled infront of the prick slowed down 2 bout 40 then ripped the handbrake on and stoped in front of him, he pulled up got out of his car and started yelling at me the undercover pulled up behind and yelled at me and told me 2 bugger of then started yelling at the other driver for wat he done. My parents were about 10 mins behind me and they said they were still there when they drove past.

People think its "safer" to do 80km/h in the fast lane, some extended family member come to mind....

How is it safe when something your doing, is causing the 5 cars behind you, to want to kill you. (who are trying to do the right thing and use the overtaking (right) lane for... now this may surprise people...overtaking)

They cause otherwise safe drivers to get pissed off, and drive unsafley = dangerous.

You dont sit in the outside lane at 100, you sit in the left lanes at the speed limit. Its not complex.

If you are underconfident and cant do 100 or 110 maybe you shouldnt be behind the wheel of a car, its a basic road skill to be able to controll a car at highway speed.

A message to the Volvo, X5, ML, camry, 626, corolla, vecrta etc. drivers of this country keep out of the overtaking lanes. Bring on some of those laws where you fined for not going the correct lane speed. There is not a single car on the Aussie market which wont sit on 120km/h on the highway all day long, do it, i promise you wont spontaneously combust.

haha oh god not that again

I've noticed on the highway the past few days going to and from work people sitting on 50-80km/h now that's dangerous, especially when you come tearing around a corner (albeit at the speedlimit) and one of these dickheads are plodding right in front of you.

I think that instead of just targeting 'hoon' drivers, there should be a crackdown on generally incompetent drivers.

  • 1 month later...

I get the wankers who sit in the fast lane talking on their mobiles.. not realising they holding everyone up.. i'll teach them one day.. and for all the f**kwits who don't know the rules.. if u think its ok to do 100 in the fast lane cause your "doing the speed limit".. it's illegal as you must merge left UNLESS OVERTAKING.. morons..

or my second favourite.. in the morning traffic.. and some afternoon traffic.. you get the morons doing 70-80k/s in the areas on the highway that are known to be built up.. even when the traffic is going 100.. and these stupid people wonder why the traffic is built up.. PUT UR FOOT DOWN U MORON AND THERE WON'T BE A HOLD UP..

    • I guess one thing that might be wrong is the manifold pressure.  It is a constant -5.9 and never moves even under 100% throttle and load.  I would expect it to atleast go to 0 correct?  It's doing this with the OEM MAP as well as the ECU vacuum sensor. When trying to tune the base map under load the crosshairs only climb vertically with RPM, but always in the -5.9 column.
    • AHHHH gotchaa, I'll do that once I am home again. I tried doing the harness with the multimeter but it seems the car needed a jump, there was no power when it was in the "ON" position. Not sure if I should use car battery jump starter or if its because the stuff that has been disconnect the car just does send power.
    • As far as I can tell I have everything properly set in the Haltech software for engine size, injector data, all sensors seem to be reporting proper numbers.  If I change any injector details it doesnt run right.    Changing the base map is having the biggest change in response, im not sure how people are saying it doesnt really matter.  I'm guessing under normal conditions the ECU is able to self adjust and keep everything smooth.   Right now my best performance is happening by lowering the base map just enough to where the ECU us doing short term cut of about 45% to reach the target Lambda of 14.7.  That way when I start putting load on it still has high enough fuel map to not be so lean.  After 2500 rpm I raised the base map to what would be really rich at no load, but still helps with the lean spots on load.  I figure I don't have much reason to be above 2500rpm with no load.  When watching other videos it seems their target is reached much faster than mine.  Mine takes forever to adjust and reach the target. My next few days will be spent making sure timing is good, it was running fine before doing the ECU and DBW swap, but want to verify.  I'll also probably swap in the new injectors I bought as well as a walbro 255 pump.
    • It would be different if the sealant hadn't started to peel up with gaps in the glue about ~6cm and bigger in some areas. I would much prefer not having to do the work take them off the car . However, the filler the owner put in the roof rack mount cavities has shrunk and begun to crack on the rail delete panels. I cant trust that to hold off moisture ingress especially where I live. Not only that but I have faded paint on as well as on either side of these panels, so they would need to come off to give the roofline a proper respray. My goal is to get in there and put a healthy amount of epoxy instead of panel filler/bog and potentially skin with carbon fiber. I have 2 spare rolls from an old motorcycle fairing project from a few years back and I think it'd be a nice touch on a black stag.  I've seen some threads where people replace their roof rack delete with a welded in sheet metal part. But has anyone re-worked the roof rails themselves? It seems like there is a lot of volume there to add in some threads and maybe a keyway for a quick(er) release roof rack system. Not afraid to mill something out if I have to. It would be cool to have a cross bar only setup. That way I can keep the sleek roofline that would accept a couple bolts to gain back that extra utility  3D print some snazzy covers to hide the threaded section to be thorough and keep things covered when not using the rack.
    • Probably not. A workshop grade scantool is my go to for proper Consult interrogation. Any workshop grade tool should do it. Just go to a workshop.
