Email sent Greg ;)

Mel texted me asking if I was doing it, and she said she had plans to.... maybe you should talk to her :P

The dirt looks like a lot of fun (to drive), but it's the pulling apart and fixing the grubby things I don't rate :)

^^^^ Thats the only lack of appeal to me of the dirt. I really like the idea of sliding around on a budget, but the ongoing servicing, repairs and maintenance, even if you run a clean rally and dont touch anything could get on my nerves abit. That said, i havent done it so am only speculating.

tarmac, as long as you dont crash, quick wash, fresh fluids etc, and away you go..

Hmmmm.. group C RX 7 turbo..... Anyone who will pay sensible money (see what I have done there Woo :) ) want to buy a Targa Prepped TME? Is CAMS logbooked so will be good to go for next year.

Does this also mean that the other CAMS rallies will fall in line regs wise with the Octogon rules (Targa West, Rally Tas, Mt Stuart etc)??

Be good if there was just one set of rules thats for sure.

+1, good call

I would say its only a matter of time. The CAMS regs are one reason I cant be arsed respeccing my car and running at Targa West.... the shite roads and repeated stages is probably the other. :)

CAMS have already relaxed their rules on exhausts. I expect injectors and fuel pumps etc will come soon to embrace the E85 phenomena. Then its just the silly ones like adjustable strut tops etc to get rid of and you are just about there.

All this talk of new projects has tempted me to put the EMO on the market. I am asking crack pipe money for it on MY105,(39k) but if anyone is seriously intersted let me know. :)

To your question Ben, I would have thought CAMS cage and logbooked, but I cant be sure. That said, from what I remember, if you have a CAMS certified cage, the next step to logbook the car isnt much more than filling out a form and getting it inspected by a CAMS srutineer.

Should be a piece of piss Ben as your cage is a very similar YT spec to the IX just need a scrutineer? to sign off on it.

Best bet is to give Herbie a call at the CAMS state office and he will point you in the right direction.

Getting a rego inspection was harder than getting the cage log booked (too many anal RWC stations), in the end Transport just pushed it through with out one!

Apparently there are proposed changes to ROPS spec in the pipeline now that are due to be put in place January 2012. (Think there was a CAMS bulletin recently) You will need to get your car logbooked by then if the cage is built to current specs or if you miss the date possibly find yourself having to mod the cage to make it comply.

There are no major changes for new cages from memory, mainly that you need 2 cross bars in the main hoop or rear legs, and changes so that FIA cages will be cams compliant.

All Chromoly cages will ned to be inspected/tested by a CAMS offical before log booking

CAMS has a whole new section up on the site about the changes.

Finally seem to have the ability to reply - woohoo!  Had all sorts of trouble with my iPad and this forum, but found a cool app that seems to work... Sort of...

So I wanted to stop this nefarious rumour The Woo is trying to spread .... It seems that merely enquiring after another's interest in an event constitutes entry (if only this were true).  Boy I had a lot of explaining to do to my husband (pool heaters)

The closest i will get to being at Classic Adelaide (or any other event in the foreseeable future)  is if Kel takes up my offer to be her groupie .... And even that's not looking so good right now - I hear I need to slay her other groupies to be considered at all, as she has set up a master chef / DWTS elimination style process

(now counter-rumoured, my work here is done)

    • Yes, I know🙄 but the sequential is not in my budget... don't want to reduce power neither, so looks like I'm stuck in the rabbit hole🤣
    • You’ll be very upset when you bust that too not to mention the gearing totally sucks. Don’t do it.
    • Is the panel filter one that is oiled? Have you ever cleaned or touched the AFM?
    • So.... the K&N air box thingo was too big, ended up gifting it to a mate, well, by gifting it he actually supplied food and beer at the pub,  which was nice, as it will not sit on a shelf in the garage for the next 10 years I did trim up some of the existing stuff to neaten it all up and gave it some wrinkle paint, unfortunately it currently has a used and abused mish mash of different types of hose clamps, 4 big fat T bolt type (shit), and a few normal clamps of vairing sizes and brands, but..... only until the 6 constant tension black worm clamps that I ordered from EFI solutions turn up next week Currently the current hose clamps are triggering me hard, LOL Is this the final version, probably not, I really want just 2 silicone pieces, a straight bit of silicone from the filter to the MAF is easy and will happen as soon as I head into Just Jap tomorrow, the problematic part is a 30° silicone bend from the MAF to the TB that I can connect the engine breather from the head, I found that there are bulk head fittings for boat bilge pumps that should work, but until I can get a 30° silicone bend the alloy pipe, and the 11ty thousand hose clamps, are there for the foreseeable future 4 hose clamps are golden, 6 are grudgingly acceptable, the 8 currently holding it all together is just taking the piss    I've also ordered 60 more retaining wall blocks for the front yard, I mis-gonculated the height that was required to get above the base of the Photinia's (red robin's) that are the hedge behind the front fence, currently it is 2 blocks high, and about 1/2 a block short, so going 3 blocks high will be above the base of the red robin's, and allow some room for mulch
    • It is the stock air box with the panel filter. Everything else is stock except the exhaust at this point, as I also went back to the cleaned 270cc injectors. I will check the RPM when the IACV is unplugged and report back.
