I'm planning on running the 32 again next year. It'll be dependent on funds, the sponsers seemed to be keen to pay again though.

Just bought the targa 2011 DVD. There is a very nice panning shot of your 32 so that oughta keep the sponsors happy!!! :) ...that is if they ever televise it anywhere other than tasmania..... although I guess if they are a local sponsor, thats all you need.

Escort could be great! How much do you want to spend? My mate Stu who's worksshop is across the road from mine has this one. It's bloody awesome, purchaased it turn key "new" out of Europe :)

Somehow I think that will be out of my budget. I am looking to do classic cause I am hoping it will be fun and cheaper than moderrn. :) At a rough guess I am thinking that thing will be R35 money.

Sponsers are all local, but it was only shown at 11 on a friday night. Also a good closeup shot of us launching in the wet at rinideena.

Last year it was broadcast on OneHD, dunno if it happening again this year.

^^^ Yeah, fingers crossed it will be broadcast on Speed channel or One HD. Certainly helps if you are trying to make a case for your sponsors.

I am pretty sure either speed channel or one HD had been running repeats of the 2010 package.

oh, and was pretty chuffed with the flames the emo was belching out on gear changes.... had no idea it did that.. :)

ummmm, make that two R35's ;)

IMO, running Classic with always be more expensive that Modern. The cars just need so much more fettling and custom work (if you want to be competetive)

pretty sure broadbend could have bought 2or 3 gt3's with the money he's spent developing his rsr. I was watching a early 2000 doco back when it was full rsr width. It's changed a bit since then.

I remember being in the sad bus with Bill Pye in 2009 (Wrestpoint) and he was telling us he'd spent over $350K on building that thing of his.

Was quite scary.

And then you see some of them builds like Coads HQ or Bana's EB and there is just so much coin in them too.

Yeah but you can do quite a bit within the rules now, I'm certain you could "fix" them...... I was just throwing it out there as another Dak Dak alternative, I do not want, would rather a wart on my cock.

trust me, cock warts are not as great as snowman makes out. I'd take the 2002 instead!

I wonder if Hendy's is the one at the other race workshop in my street? There's a 34 GTR (titanium colour) over there getting a cage etc at the minute.

And yeah, what's next.... hmmmm, well, Timmy and I have entered Targa Classic Adelaide, but it doesn't seem like anyone else is going to be there! lol.... so I'm kind of loosing my fat for it.

I think Hend'ys car is in Vic. I saw him a few weeks back. good bloke and dead serious so I can't imagine why he won't be quick.

mate bill pye has more porsches than i've had roots. and not one of them is cheap! his chickens must all lay golden eggs!

f**kit. I'm getting a 35 then.....seems thats what all the cool kids are doing. ;) Electronic talent and superior firepower FTW!!!!!!! :)

compared to some of the oldies R35s look like play money! hell you can buy a turn-key tarmac evo for the size of one decent servicing/repair bill for some of the classics. they are fun, and sound great but in my experience not cheap.

even the old alfas i've built for circuit etc where there is lots of parts for them still cost a truck-load. even more if you want it to be accurate to the period it was built but still be fast.

I reckon you are on a good thing with the EVO but will happily talk you into an RX7 cause they are just cool!

Well he does own half of rural NSW doesn't he? Bound to be a few decent chickens there somewhere!?

Don't say that, I just sold the farkin thing lol :(

Am now realising how much its going to cost to get anything remotely as fast. But hopefully I can build something relatively budget that's a bit of fun.

    • Have you done the Ignition Sync Wizard in the AEM software?
    • Find out what RPM it was idling at with the IACV unplugged. It's very weird that the rpm didn't change at all, and then it stalled. When it stalls is it nearly like a switch off, like you've turned the engine off? Or is it more stutters and sputters and coughs to death over a few seconds? Or does the RPM just slowly keep going down and down? Have you done a test of trying to start it with the AFM unplugged? Does it still die?     If you Follow Josh's advice on using Nistune to check the voltages (which is a perfect method!) if you see anything out of wack voltage wise, THEN get the multimeter out and read the voltage directly at the sensor. If the two vary, then you're now looking for a wiring issue vs a sensor issue. So be aware, what the ECU sees, may not be what the sensor is actually saying too...
    • You very likely need to get it on a dyno and tune it. My assumption is, you've got an RB25DET tune in it, which has a different manifold, different injectors, and different cams as a minimum. What O2 sensor are you running?   When you say it runs extremely rich from idle all the way to redline, is this just free revving it you see that?
    • I seem to the be only person that is using a Haltech 2500 on an NA motor, I've installed a Bosch DBW throttle body to the OEM intake manifold and am having problems maintaining AFR even with the wideband o2.  It will run extremely rich at idle and up to redline, but under load it will go extremely lean in the 20s and i'm essentially having to rev it over 4k and feather the clutch to get it up to speed.  I've read a few other threads of about the butterfly, it seems removing the vacuum to it is supposed to have it remain open, i've noticed no difference under 4k with the vacuum line to it plugged.  I'm hoping someone here has had luck using the NA manifold with Haltech, and if they happen to have a tune for it.
    • I don't know any details, but I really wouldn't be surprised if they do it as a LHD only version, at least initially.
