^^^ No idea Timmy. Although i did have an odd moment in my old evo VIII MR with full electronic talent in the wet where it got into (or I got it into.... I was being a knob :) ) a big slide then it unexpectedly gripped up while still very sideways and shot off the track in the direction it was pointing. One reason I am not a fan of too much electronic talent. It can do strange things sometimes which I guess it believes are in your best interests but might not be. :)

Speaking of lack of electronic talent, I was at a mates post wedding bbq a few weeks back and as you do... end up in the shed!

Wow, his Rx7 has some cool stuff on it.. IE four link, Harrop adjustable sway bar, watts link, floating hubs with adjustable camber. Pretty much the whole rear end was very tasty. Engine bay was looking pretty tasty too, I guess thats why he has been IP state champs a few years in a row.

There was no less than 5 rotors in the shed, imagine the noise :P

Timmy,

would love to chat to him. Have just orderd a modified hilux diff with full floating hubs/axles with camber and toe adjustment and 2 piece brake rotors....and with 32 GTR brakes so there is something nissan on it. :) Allegedly its the same gear Miedeke runs in his Perana.

But be keen to hear anything about the rest of his setup that he is willing to give away. No point reinventing the wheel.

Can I use this as my excuse for those couple of times I went bush in your EMO too? :)

^^^^ No. Your excuse for that was you had sipped one mouthful of beer, and as you warned me, your super skills go to shit after any alcohol. Note: this was on a drive home from Collie not on the track itself. We arent that silly... Drinking while driving on the road is fine right??? All the electronic talent in the world couldnt save you from the understeer of fail you experienced through that right hand turn. :)

^^^^ 200??? Your exaggerating again. Looks like 190 to me. :) But a volvo. What could possibly go wrong. :)

I am sorry my evos keep trying to kill you. They can probabaly smell the GTR on you. Although the evos tried, if this RX7 comes together, it just might succeed given your love or RWD cars. :)

It got to 200! (The picture is too blurry though - because it took around 10mins to get from 190->200 and by then Bris was too drunk to hold the camera steady)

And Wooster - go look in the mirror mate :)

Just wondering if any of you guy's have a CAMS tarmac rally log book yet and if you do what category did you apply for. I'm thinking I should go with 3CRCO (Rally Car Other) but would love to know what others have done.

Cheers

Neil.

    • Have you done the Ignition Sync Wizard in the AEM software?
    • Find out what RPM it was idling at with the IACV unplugged. It's very weird that the rpm didn't change at all, and then it stalled. When it stalls is it nearly like a switch off, like you've turned the engine off? Or is it more stutters and sputters and coughs to death over a few seconds? Or does the RPM just slowly keep going down and down? Have you done a test of trying to start it with the AFM unplugged? Does it still die?     If you Follow Josh's advice on using Nistune to check the voltages (which is a perfect method!) if you see anything out of wack voltage wise, THEN get the multimeter out and read the voltage directly at the sensor. If the two vary, then you're now looking for a wiring issue vs a sensor issue. So be aware, what the ECU sees, may not be what the sensor is actually saying too...
    • You very likely need to get it on a dyno and tune it. My assumption is, you've got an RB25DET tune in it, which has a different manifold, different injectors, and different cams as a minimum. What O2 sensor are you running?   When you say it runs extremely rich from idle all the way to redline, is this just free revving it you see that?
    • I seem to the be only person that is using a Haltech 2500 on an NA motor, I've installed a Bosch DBW throttle body to the OEM intake manifold and am having problems maintaining AFR even with the wideband o2.  It will run extremely rich at idle and up to redline, but under load it will go extremely lean in the 20s and i'm essentially having to rev it over 4k and feather the clutch to get it up to speed.  I've read a few other threads of about the butterfly, it seems removing the vacuum to it is supposed to have it remain open, i've noticed no difference under 4k with the vacuum line to it plugged.  I'm hoping someone here has had luck using the NA manifold with Haltech, and if they happen to have a tune for it.
    • I don't know any details, but I really wouldn't be surprised if they do it as a LHD only version, at least initially.
