I looked but didn't really find anything useful so I will ask. I want to get oil pressure/water temp/boost gauges but when I fit them I would like them to sit beneath my head unit where the din pocket goes. Is this possible? If so, how can it be done? I reckon they would look mint there. Any other suggestions?

Cheers,

Evan

been done plenty of times dude, might be a tight squeeze for 3 guages unless you allow it to take up both pockets although i think i have seen it done in the one pocket, you could try using some aluminum sheet and just cut the holes for the guages where you want them to sit, the fix the plate in place where the din pocket screws go

Hey,

Yeah it can be done pretty easy. You could get the Defi din Gauges or you can get the justjap gauges. Justjap do a package where you get 3 gauges (boost, oil temp, water temp) and a metal plate that will fit under your deck. There are also 3 different type of packages with different gauges. Cost $175 all up for the Justjap package or around $500 for the defi din gauges

Just make sure you dont buy the din GTR gauges... i did that and then found out that i couldnt use them in my gts-t...lol

Terrific, thanks everyone for your replies. I like the defi gauges a LOT but damn theyre expensive for 3 gauges... Any experience with the jjr gauges? Are they accurate? And it doesn't quite specify if they are electric gauges or mechanical. I don't really like the idea of hot oil and water lines going thru into the cabin of my car...

Cheers,

Evan

Yeah the JustJap gauges that come in the package are mechanical, but you could buy the metal plate for $20 and then buy the electric gauges seperate. They sell the electric gauges as well for $90 each. Ive used a Autogauge Boost Gauge in my R32 before and had no problems

http://nissansilvia.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=269140

u will see i just got a 3 din c/f surround and passed all my gauges through there...

dont ask me where i got it from, a mate gave it to me so i guess try autobarn or just jap???

Does anyone know if that Defi DIN gauge set can actually replace the original gauges in the GTR?

Also does it come with a boost gauge? it doesn't say

The defi din consists of 1x Pressure and 2x Temperature.

So you connect the pressure to either boost or oil etc

    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.

    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
