Another Bad night with a Fatal Collision involving R31 Skyline. All I will say is one innocent person deceasded as result of accident and offending driver(Skyline) who survived with no injuries ran red light, speeding and alcohol affected.

RIP to deceased and I have no mercy to offending driver.

RIP to the deceased.

Stupid drivers with alcohol in their system should get their balls chopped off....oh but wait....we are talking about the justice system - so that means a fine and suspended sentence or 1 year in jail or some shit. GRRRR the law just pisses me off soo bad!!!!!!

Didnt they change the law not long ago to make it so they can no longer give out a suspended sentence on serious crimes?

rip

this shit is just farken stupid! wtf is wrong with people... thinkin that they have some super power to be the only person in the world who's driving is not affected by alcohol... srsly...

:(

RIP to the innocent person :D

Although i dont understand as to why the car needed to be mentioned 3 times in the thread...

If it was an ADM R31 thats no different to a drunk bogan behind any old ford/holden/ADM car.

The title just sounds like we fueling our own fire and its not like we need more "skyline+accident" results popping up for the media to twist..

bad huh i dont understand why people like can be aloud to just get away with that shit.... and at same time have no guilty consience.... I couldnt live with myself if i caused an accident which resulted in the death of someone.... People get their license toooo easy man.

perfect example.... I was driving on stud rd in dandenong a few weeks back. And this indian lady about 40yrs old (on her p's) with kids in the back had ran a red light while there was oncoming traffic who had the green. How she got out of that i do not know but its people like that and people who simply do not think at all and "are above the law" who honestly wreck things for us.

RIP to the deceased

It's the ones like your example that irk me the most... ...a lot have their seat so low I'm sure they can't see the bonnet because of the cluster...

A few weeks ago on Springvale Rd I saw a car broken down in the right lane... ...they had their hazards on and were standing on the median and I didn't really think much of it as traffic seem to be going around fine... ...few days after that I bumped into an old CFA friend who told me about an accident where she had to cut three kids out of the back of a car... ...the kids were all in the back of the car I saw because dad thought it would be safer for them to stay there while he kept an eye out for the RACV... ...The person that hit them was believed to have only just gotten her license after getting a visa to stay in Australia... ...My friend also thought she was in her 450s or 50s...

So Saturday night when I saw another car broken down in the right lane on South Rd I had to turn back and check to make sure everything was ok... ...This one had a woman with her teenage son in the front and a young girl in the back... ...they were also waiting for the RACV... ...So I told the teenager to hop out and take his sister to the median and then come back and we'll push the car up onto the median...

I would have thought people would have more sense these days...

yesterday here in adelaide we had a 85 yr old grandmother crossing at a pedestrian crossing she was hit by a bloke that blew 4 times over the legal limet at 8.30 on a sunday morning i know it has nothing to do with skylines but drunk drivers like that should be jailed for life

I didn't want to mention it before but other's have already brought it up, yes the offending driver was an Idian on an international driver's licence. Sorry to say but in recent times almost every drink driver well over limit I have dealt with has been African/Indian/Asian etc on temporay visa's.

We even had a police van run into few months ago by Indian driver heavily intoxicated travelling at 160 in 60 zone through red light showed no remorse and tried to punch on with members to avoid going to hospital to have blood taken. I am sick of dealing with people like this who have no regard for our laws.

^^ Out of interest, what happens to this person now being on that kind of visa? Do they feel the full wrap of the Australian law, are the deported and serve time over there? I am fortunate enough not to have to travel on suburban roads living fairly close to work and walking a lot of places of weekends so miss a lot of that type of driving, however have seen more than enough over the years.

RIP to the deceased

I Know we seize their passport so they can't flee and then they get prosecuted, get their punishment and I believe then they will be deported.

I just hate drink driver's as I have been in major accident where I was lucky just to walk away from it. A heavily intoxicated driver admitted have 20+ beers hit me head on at 120+km/h on wrong side of road in suburban street and also failed to stop at scene. He got tracked down at home as his car leaked oil/coolant from scene to his house 1 km away then he armed himself with pole and tried to attack my colleagues that found him. In the end he refused to give blood or breath test.

All he got was 3 months Jail a fine and 8 years disqualification. Never showed and remorse.

I say RIP to the deceased but also my feelings are there for the drivers family and everyone who will be caught up in the dilema. Who are we to judge, none of us were there at the time of the accident. How do you know the guy didn't blow 0.051 who knows. I am not suppoorting drink driving and never had. What I am saying I guess is the driver of the R31 life is also ruined. He or she will always have the death of an innocent person on the hands. How do we not know the R31 driver wasn't turning at the lights, wiated for an amber and the other driver sped up to make it as well. Iv'e seen it happen and the person waiting at the orange gets charged with running the red. All I am saying here guys is there are so many factors that would have been involved here we just cannot judge and throw the book at someone. We live in a Country that believes in every body seeing fair justice. I would hate for me to be in those shoes one day and the whole world turning on me. Just imagine your out on a big night, you go to bed and wake up in the morning and go home (don't tell me half of you haven;t driven home in the morning feeling whoo I may still be over) and a little girl runs out in front of you. See you later life. Your off to jail. It can happen easy.

Please in no way think I am supporting the driver here. I am just opening a can of worms.

Cheers

Kane

Kane:In regards to the above I know for fact that driver 2-3 times limit, travelling approx 50km/h over speed limit and went straight ahead through red light at Major intersection. Do you still feel sorry for them?

    • After my last update, I went ahead with cleaning and restoring the entire fuel system. This included removing the tank and cleaning it with the Beyond Balistics solution, power washing it multiple times, drying it thoroughly, rinsing with IPA, drying again with heat gun and compressed air. Also, cleaning out the lines, fuel rail, and replacing the fuel pump with an OEM-style one. During the cleaning process, I replaced several hoses - including the breather hose on the fuel tank, which turned out to be the cause of the earlier fuel leak. This is what the old fuel filter looked like: Fuel tank before cleaning: Dirty Fuel Tank.mp4   Fuel tank after cleaning (some staining remains): Clean Fuel Tank.mp4 Both the OEM 270cc and new DeatschWerks 550cc injectors were cleaned professionally by a shop. Before reassembling everything, I tested the fuel flow by running the pump output into a container at the fuel filter location - flow looked good. I then fitted the new fuel filter and reassembled the rest of the system. Fuel Flow Test.mp4 Test 1 - 550cc injectors Ran the new fuel pump with its supplied diagonal strainer (different from OEM’s flat strainer) and my 550cc injectors using the same resized-injector map I had successfully used before. At first, it idled roughly and stalled when I applied throttle. Checked the spark plugs and found that they were fouled with carbon (likely from the earlier overly rich running when the injectors were clogged). After cleaning the plugs, the car started fine. However, it would only idle for 30–60 seconds before stalling, and while driving it would feel like a “fuel cut” after a few seconds - though it wouldn’t fully stall. Test 2 – Strainer swap Suspecting the diagonal strainer might not be reaching the tank bottom, I swapped it for the original flat strainer and filled the tank with ~45L of fuel. The issue persisted exactly the same. Test 3 – OEM injectors To eliminate tuning variables, I reinstalled the OEM 270cc injectors and reverted to the original map. Cleaned the spark plugs again just in-case. The stalling and “fuel cut” still remained.   At this stage, I suspect an intermittent power or connection fault at the fuel pump hanger, caused during the cleaning process. This has led me to look into getting Frenchy’s fuel hanger and replacing the unit entirely. TL;DR: Cleaned and restored the fuel system (tank, lines, rail, pump). Tested 550cc injectors with the same resized-injector map as before, but the car stalls at idle and experiences what feels like “fuel cut” after a few seconds of driving. Swapped back to OEM injectors with original map to rule out tuning, but the issue persists. Now suspecting an intermittent power or connection fault at the fuel pump hanger, possibly cause by the cleaning process.
    • For race cars, this is one part where I find having the roll cage bar having gone through a hole in the floor better than the build it up on a ledge inside... The Merc I help on, the main hoop ends are marked on the car, and the jack is marked... Jack goes under a few inches and lifts one whole side of the car up... Removes that fight for long slim jacks for race car duties!   My biggest issue for the daily drivers I work on, is my jacks don't go high enough. The jacks start out on a few blocks, jack it up, then start a second jack under it on more blocks, and then I can get an axle stand under it. My axle stands are presently in use, and are nearly fully extended. The car is sitting with barely more than a cm of clearance to get the wheel off the studs! Sarah's Kluger is the same, as it has an ungodly amount of droop available in the suspension and a distinct lack of good jacking points!
    • Happy? Yep, my to do list is getting shorter and shorter. Either this light approaching is the end of the tunnel, or I'm about to be hit by a train... Ha ha ha   Also, Duncan isn't that far out of town that you need to make a multi day drive out of it. 😛
    • Sorry I meant that we are building the EH for a client.
