Hi all,

It's very sad when I have to read things about other skyline drivers having their cars broken into... Unfortunately I am now posting up for a second time about my skyline!

I work in Wentworthville in real estate. Yesterday a work colleague of mine told me my headlights were on around 12.30pm. I found this strange seeing as I didn't drive with headlights on to work! The car has an alarm and I thought perhaps someone had bumped the car and activated the motion sensor, putting the alarm on which is when the headlights come on... I went down to check on the car which is parked in an open air car park adjacent to Lane St near the Mitre 10.

Sure enough the headlights were on and my alarm was going off. I tried using the beeper to turn the alam off which didn't turn it off which I found very strange. I had the key on my key ring that disables the alarm from underneath the bonnet, so I unlocked the car from the driver's side to pop the bonnet to find...

My dash all smashed up, wires hanging down on the ground and my passenger's side window half down. Some F*&^%ing A-Hole had shoved a screwdriver into the seal and forced down the window and reached in to unlock the door and tried to hotwire it to steal it. The ignition barrell is in a thousand pieces, the wiring has all been chopped and they also stole, I guess out of frustration they couldn't get the car started, my ipod, cd's a few tools and they totally ripped out a sun visor on the passenger's side which had a dvd screen in it. They even stole my Maglight! Funny thing is, they didnt even touch my $1500 head deck, or amps or subs, it's pretty clear they were after the whole car and took stuff out of sheer frustration they couldn't start the car.

I called the police who said they would send someone to fingerprint the car... I waited for 7 hours (while also trying to hotwire the car to see if I could limp it home) and the cops never showed up. My boyfriend being an electrician got most of the accesories and power on but wasn't able to start the car. I'm thinking maybe the low life scum might have either blown a fuse or even the computer trying to start it. I ended up having to get my car towed back home to Penrith and funnily enough, while I was waiting hours for a tow truck, the cops call me and say "Ah yes we are at your house waiting to fingerprint the car, where are you?"

My response was something along the lines of " I am still sitting in the car park waiting for you A-holes to show up, and am now also waiting for a tow truck so I won't be home til God knows when and someone should have been here 7 hours ago!" They're coming around tonight to check out the car because I told them to seeing as I have to go to WORK and work my ass off to make sure I have money to fix the car.

So... This post isn't a whinge about what has happened, it's more a warning to never park in that car park and also to ask if anyone has, or knows where I can get a wiring manual or instructions for an R33 GTS-T Skyline. (BF is an electrician)

Yes the car is insured but the excess if I make a claim is $2100!!!! It's cheaper if I just fix it myself... So I'll be on the look out for parts for the dash, ignition barrel etc and also I will be selling my pride and joy due to the fact it seems to be a $h!t magnet and also under my dad's intructions (defence foce man so don't cross him!) My boss took photos of the car which I will try to upload when I get a chance.

That is all...

Sorry to hear this, and so close to home! It sucks people cant respect others property.

Maybe try Mitre 10 to see if they have CCTV on the loading dock entrance. The angle might be able to pick up the parking lot.

Can understand your pain. Just recently my son finished work and walked out to find the car with a smashed driver's window, the face off the old crappy radio missing and just to top it off the toe-rags had keyed the boot lid nice and deep. No attempt to steal the car just damage it.

WHY???????

Went to the local council because the carpark has big signs saying "This Carpark Under Video Surveillance". Guess what.......theres no frigging cameras. The signs and false camera mountings are supposed to be a deterrent. The only ones fooled by the signs are poor pricks like us who park there thinking its safe.

No security cameras, it's the car park closest to the Wenty Pub, council one out the back of that. The most annoying this is that who ever it was had the balls to do it in broad daylight, and that car park isn't quiet, people walk/drive through all the time!! It's disappointing no one thought to do or say anything if they did walk past and see some cock sitting in my car with the alarm going!!

It's a pretty stock skyline body wise, just your normal M-spec kit, however it is lowered on 18" chromies with Nismo stickers on it, car show stickers etc... So that might have added to it. ALSO, not to sound my own horn or anything, it is the nicest car in the whole car park!

Who ever it was must have been watching it for a while, I spoke to a few locals who think it is someone from the houso block of units across the road, I hear car theft from there is not uncommon!

Just a quick update... The cops have been around to fingerprint the car... They actually got a crapload of different fingerprints off the car! I honestly hope they do find the A-hole that did this. Even though I don't get anything financial wise out of it, I might at least be able to get the satisfaction knowing they got BUSTED!

only 1 in 20 car thefts results in someone getting cauht so don't hold your breath. sadly these days you have a bigger chance of geting herpes than getting caught stealing a car in sydney...

I really need some help here guys... Does anyone know where I can find a wiring diagram for an R33 GTS-T. Any help would be appreciated, thanks. :P

Hiya,

God_speed may have the diagram on disk. PM him.

Sorry to hear that envious angry jerks don't respect other people's hard-earned stuff - even when it happens to them GRRRRRR

Yes $2100 could nearly pay for a daily.

Cheers, Tez

Ill be at tafe until 4 so i wont be able to look till then, i found this wiring diagram in the tuturial/tech section anyhow

Hopefully it'll help in some way http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Ec...+wiring+diagram

Just a tip for others worried about their car getting stolen.

Etch the vehicle identification number (VIN), or other personal details on several major car parts, preferably In a discrete place on the part, so you have a chance of tracking it if it's sold off in parts.

Someone selling multiple parts with numbers over them or parts that have been grinding down in areas to hide something is a give away.

Put business cards, address labels, or other identifying information inside vehicle doors, or in hard to reach areas.

Or if you want to go all out.. Hidden GPS transmitters.

Sorry to hear about that, Emily. Hmm, seeing as you work in real estate, you probably already know this, but I'll mention it anyway for the benefit of all: Lane Street in Wentworthville is probably the WORST area in Wenty for crime. I used to live in Wenty as a kid, and still live fairly near by. On the very rare occasion I head back in there for anything, I would never dare park in that parking lot, no matter what car I was driving! I'm even apprehensive about parking at Highway Plaza, but at least there's a bit more "people traffic" through there, so I'd hope it's less likely that something would occur.

    • Welcome to Skyline ownership. Yes, it is entirely possible parts websites get things wrong. There's a whole world of inaccuracies out there when it comes to R34 stuff (and probably 33 and 32). Lots of things that are 'just bolt on, entirely interchangable' aren't. Even between S1 and S2 R34's. Yes they have a GTT item supposedly being 296mm. This is incorrect. I would call whoever you got them from and return them and let them know the GTT actually uses 310mm rotors. Depending on where you got them from your experience and success will obviously vary.
    • Hi...a bit a "development" on the brakes. I spoke to the guys where i get brakes from...and they are saying that 296mm EBC are for R34 GT-T. I then went to their site: https://www.ebcbrakes.com/vehicle/uk-row/NISSAN/Skyline (R34)/ and search for my car(R34 GT 1998 - it has GTT brakes) and it show me this USR1229 number and they are rly 296mm rotors... So now iam rly confused... The rotors i have now on the car are 310mm asi shown... So where is the problem? Does the whole EBC got it wrong or my calipers are just...idk know what?
    • Oh What the hell, I used to get a "are you sure you want to reply, this thread is XX months old" message. Maybe a software update remove that. My bad.
    • This is a recipe for disaster* Note: Disaster is relative. The thing that often gets lost in threads like this is what is considered acceptable poke and compromise between what one person considers 'good' looks and what someone else does. The quoted specs would sit absurdly outside the guards with the spacers mentioned and need  REALLY thin tyres and a LOT of camber AND rolling the guards to fit. Some people love this. Some people consider this a ruined car. One thing is for certain though, rolling the guards is pretty much mandatory for any 'good' fitment (of either variety). It is often the difference between any fitment remotely close to the guards. "Not to mention the rears were like a mm from hitting the coilovers." I have a question though - This spec is VERY close to what I was planning to buy relative to the inboard suspension - I have an offset measuring tool on the way to confirm it. When you say "like a mm" do you mean literally 1mm? Or 2mm? Cause that's enough clearance for me in the rear :p I actually found the more limiting factor ISNT the coilover but the actual suspension arms. Did you take a look at how close those were?
    • @GTSBoy yeah sorry i know thery are known for colors bud those DBA are too in colors 🙂 Green will be good enough for me
