Bought a new in car retractable dvd unit. The thing is awesome, however i would like to watch tv stations on it as dvd's arent worth it as i live in a smallish town, drives are 15 minutes at the most.

I would like to know do i need a receiver to watch news stations etc?

How much are they?

Will the dvd deck i have be able to display tv stations using just the antenna without having to buy a receiver of some sort?

Any help woudl be greatly appreciated

the pioneer ones are about 550 buks or so if u get them from the right place (from memory)

and i would strongly recommend on not watching tv/dvd etc while driving. Ive done this b4 in my 33 and its pretty dangerous so I dont do it anymore

yeah i have a dvd headunit as well and i have had dvds running whilst driving and there is too much temptation to watch while ur driving so i wouldn't recommend it lolz

i have never stocked panasonic units before so i am not familiar with them but you will need to check if panasonic make a TV receiver that will interface with the dvd unit and touch screen ( asuming it has touch screen control) if they dont then you will need to buy a stand alone TV receiver that will just output into composite RCA. then youl be able to plug that into the video input on the screen and get the picture that way.the unit will need an external antenna and will have some sort of remote control that comes with it.

some cheapo dvd units will come with a tuner inbuilt but just about all of them will need some sort tunner add on to receive TV stations.

LOL I have already installed cat doors into the laundry where their kitty litter is, and the sun room, apart from the cat doors there's not going to be any permanent mounted stuff on the interior walls (interior doors are cheap and easy to replace) I will get a outdoor cat cage thingie once I finish the landscaping out back... https://catnip.com.au/ The only off limit areas are the main bedroom and the gym room....but, currently the cats are curled up in bed, in the main bedroom with the Mrs.....LOL, the off limits for the kittens to the main bedroom lasted about 5 minutes with Jackie I currently only have 1 free standing huge cat tree multiple level scratching post thingie in the lounge room, but, I will be getting another one soon now that I'm happy with the furniture layout in the back room and have a perfect spot for it
    • All of this is making it seem clear that running the Coppermix twin was definitely the way to go, especially in hindsight with how insane tariffs have gotten and the strength of the USD vs yen at the time.
    • That sounds like no chance of even importing one for road registering then Now I see why Duncan wants to check LHD rules for Targa...   I wonder how "bolt in" the AWD would be if you got one imported from the US and swapped it to an AUD one
    • Not to mention they drive like a bucket of bolts! yuck!
