Alright guys.

A recent topic: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Tuned-1002hp-R34-T88-t237291.html has got me thinking.... How much power can you milk from an RB engine?

I'd like to hear from others who have recent links to workshops or personal projects that state with proof their hp/kw ratings.

All RB's are up for discussion. 20's 25's 26's and strokers.

I have heard rumous of 1500hp monsters , but I've been unable to verify the fact.

It would be interesting to see what the greatest are using.

Project GTSt by GTaRT Racing in the UK.

RB25DET with T51R and all the fruit. Has run a low 9.

Actually that car is an RB26DET with a T62R and run a high 7 now :O

Heat Treatments are the most powerful I know of, "over 1200hp"... has run over 190mph on the 1/4 mile. Considering there are ">1000hp" GTRs which have only cracked 160mph, it must be making a fair bunch.

Are you sure you are not getting confused with the American version Project GTST?

Some other performance company in the US also has a project GTST which has run a 7.

UK car is black.

US car is silver.

I am 110% sure. Check this link, and on that page you'll see links for the progress of each year - you'll find you are thinking of the same car and that it has just had huge progress over the last couple of years. John went from GTArt to Abbey Motorsport and from RB25 to 26 when things started getting really serious:http://projectgtst.com/index06.php

Certainly has come along way! Why does everyone jump on the 26 bandwagon lol

In its form as a 25 did they think that is all they could squeeze out of it?

EDIT: Maybe i should swap my GT3076 for a GT3582 lol

Milking usable power and milking 10000RPM Power are two things.

Turn boost up to 2.5 Bar...get it on a dyno...add racing fuel and presto, you either have a

blown engine.....or you get a 1000+horse power figure.

Most of the vehicles you are talking about get a re-build straight after their run.

Not many here want to see if there motor will handle that sort of punishment

I'm not convinced they gave the 25 a chance, they blew one up but I don't think it was a 25 limitation so much as oil flow and they may (not 100% so don't hold me to this) have had issues with the first 26s until they sorted it out.

GT3582Rs are an aweful lot of fun on 25s! GT30R is definitely more punchy, but above 4000rpm a GT35R starts becoming rather nuts - 20+psi and you're looking at a car capable of into the 10s with the right setup. Huge fun! But no traction on the road.

I won't post anything other than to highlight my favourite bits of your post. :P

Oh yeah, Heat Treatments GTR will be tuned in a matter of days with its latest changes - I don't know if they'll make the figures public or not but if any indication is given I will post it. I suspect if RIPS maintains his madness and pulls it all off we may well see a new worlds fastest RB powered drag car record.....

Hahahaha nice, liking it so far - then? :O

I wonder what makes more power given equal displacement... the 2J or the RB? Guess all one would have to do there is bench flow the heads against each other really.

one thing is for sure. the RB is the fastest LOOKING motor ever made. its like Nissan windtunnel tested that thing, and the 34 rocker covers have a nicer finish than most people's cars.

    • I've looked up the parts number (41011AL501). It's around $700 OEM. Usually our Infiniti G35 here in Canada have interchangeable parts with my Stagea but the parts number are not the same. I have looked around and it seems the JDM 2005 V35 Skyline (which is the same as our G35) has the same caliper but I cannot confirm. And I can't find a repair kit. The inner brake pads drags on the rotor, seems to be rusty piston. Thanks for the info by the way
    • This coupled with 6-9 speed autos with ridiculously short gearing is why these modern shitbox cars always seem so fast off the line. If it wasn't for those things, Raptors would not seem fast. The problem we have is there is a driveability gap between a more gentle take off and a wheelspinning sideways launch. The difference between ankle flex required to achieve one and ankle flex required to achieve the other is about 0.5°.
    • Yeah I think I'm also with the opposite here. It's 'hard to keep up with traffic' because in the real world I'm accelerating with 15% throttle and they are pinning it. It feels like I'm being an overt dickhead at anything above 15% throttle, so the car sounds like I'm being an overt dickhead to keep up with/get ahead of traffic when I'm really just trying to drive with traffic. There would be no issue 'keeping up with traffic' if we used the same level of throttle input/aggression to drive around. People really do just drive around with their foot nearly pinned in econoboxes.
    • To be fair it's the other way around. 300kw is boring in a modern Golf or BMW. They are so competent / well-engineered / devoid of emotion that you have to go stupid fast to feel anything. Whereas the <300kw RB still makes all the right noises and it feels good to drive. Can pull off at the lights with the turbo whooshing and the blow-off pssshing and feel like the coolest kid on the block. Just don't look to the side where you'll see the bored housewifes in their shitbox Yaris/Corolla/Camry that kept up because you didn't go fast at all
    • 300kW is so boring in a Skyline, you'll get spanked by someone's mum's Golf with Alibaba pipes, and an email tune.
