When I spoke to you the other day and you asked me if Nick Senior had done me a good deal, I didnt say yes, in fact I didnt say anything at all. The reason for this is that yes, I did source the vehicles overseas as after speaking to a few local Australian Subaru dealers it quickly became clear that purchasing the vehicles here would not make the best economic sense.

No experts here Jason. As I said, with so many sceptics alot of people are trying to find out if it is the real deal.

Can we see pic's of the cars and know some of the people preparing them?

Who is doing the cages?

Will they be CAMS approved?

How many staff do you estimate you will need at Wakefield to take care of 45 cars that will need fuel, tyres, pads, rotors? And who are these people?

Can we see an entry list?

The concept sounds fantastic, but we are just trying to realise if I am dreaming or it is going to happen :D

Ive had more than a few phone and email conversations with both Lindy and Jason and have entered in both the main event and both wrx trackday events with no hesitation at all. I too have done my research though and have found that Jason has been around motorsport for a long time. I have the November issue of Unique cars and have seen both the advert and editorial in the mag as well and ive confirmed with Wakefield that the track bookings do in fact exist - they were booked months ago.

secondly, jason has bent over backwards to help people on this forum who i know well enter the events......

also, i found out from lindy that just last week jason lost a close family member (which is why lindy is handling everything at the moment), so i think we should give these guys a break and let them get on with it!!!!

Hi jason,

You say this is an ameteur event, what exactly does that mean?

I heard that you can't have competed at a national or international level at any time.

But then again what does that actually mean? to what detail, and car types? Is that limited to a single race or a full season?

Also, there are probably guys who are driver trainers who want to enter, are they eligible?

Edited by viski

I spoke to Jason about this and it means people who compete in a National series ie V8 Supercars, Carrera Cup, Brute, F3 etc etc Targa Tassie and Buller are not classed as National Events..............but people like Jim Richards cannot enter.

A few people have been refused entry lol Depends on what the driver trainer has competed in I suppose.

You said 'compete', what about 'competed'? I'm sure there are lots of guys who have competed at competive level but don't currently do that now. I assume they would not be eligible.

I notice you are a driver trainer and tester for wheels, tarmac etc? Would someone with your experience be eligible (surely you've competed at a high level to get where you are today)? I guess that's up to jason to decide.

But still I think this needs be 100% clarified.

Yes 'or competed'. Never had the $$$ to compete at a mega high level. So I decided this is the next best thing

I am sure there will be some mega fast people going to this.

Hi all,

apologies for the late response to your posts but due to personal family reasons we have been out of the office for the past few days.

At the end of the day it is an event aimed squarely at amateur drivers so the line in the sand is that it is not open to anyone who has or still is competing at a national or international level. It is impossible to make everyone happy all the time unfortunately but we have done our upmost to make it fair for all.

John, I will do my best to answer your other questions from an earlier post just as soon as I have a few minutes to do so as I am sending this post on the run from my mobile - back in the office Monday so probably then (my apologies too for being a bit "short" in my other response to you its been a tough week, family tragedies are never easy, Im sure you understand).

Steve, I received your email too and have responded to it a little while ago.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Jason Sinai

Hi everyone,

our main event "the million dollar driver challenge" is now sold out! Congratulations to all those who have entered and good luck!

we still do have places in the 1 day track day events.

in response to the above questions from a previous post:

we currently have a small team of 3 guys preparing the vehicles out of a warehouse in Alexandria in Sydney, this will grow to a team of 6 early in the new year. 2 of the guys are from Japan and 1 is from the USA, all 3 have motorsport experience with 2 of them having previously worked for a satellite Hyundai rally team in the US and the other was chief mechanic on my MX5 Racecar when I raced in the Mazdaspeed mx5 category in the US in 2006.

it has always been our intention to "unveil the cars" as soon as we have atleast 5 complete and ready to show - this is planned for the end of January at our workshop and all entrants as well as some motorsport press will be invited along for this.

in terms of staffing at the event itself, we will have somewhere in the region of 100 staff at the event this is not counting the catering staff, marshalls and safety crew which are being organised through Wakefield Park.

the roll cages are arriving in kit form from a US supplier of ours and are fia approved cages.

in the coming days we will finalise the entry list (as we are still waiting on deposits from some people) and I will be more than happy to email it to anyone who is interested - just email Lindy at [email protected] , we will also post it on our website.

Regards,

Jason Sinai

  • 4 weeks later...

This is a heads up for everyone. take this information as you like:

Jase1, Dennis350z and Andrea have all come from the same IP address. One of the addresses used to register these accounts are linked to Jasons previous business "exclusivity 9". these were used to back up jasons credibility.

If you can find any other information on this event other than unique cars and the forums that can explain how 290 people handed over $13g then you are doing well.

oh, and the fact that Jasons excessive emailing and posting came to a sudden stop once the due date for money had passed...

this is all we are putting out right now. We have more information that discredits this competition, but it is based on here say. short of seeing 40 cars with cages and someone reliable to back it up im convinced that this isnt genuine.

Well heard friend, and not at all suprising to me. That's why my money is still in my pocket  I always get edgy when new members come on, have one or two posts proclaiming how genuine something is, then dissappear.

And I find it amazing that from approximately 300 people I know directly via motorsport, whom regularly compete in such events as Targas and Duttons etc, not ONE person has entered it. I would have thought that those folk would have cluttered the entry list.

I also have many doubts about this being a genuine event.

I can confirm what Belsil80 says is true re: IP Addresses of Jason's (and friends) posts.

This type of backup from new users with zero posts has also happened on other forums: www.carandimage.com/forums

Tag Huer are not on board as a sponsor.

Revolution are not on board as a sponsor, however Jason has contacted them about custom race suits. But an order hasn't been placed.

Fuel TV know nothing about this evet.

Draw your own conclusions.

    • Well, all the best with the new camry It was interesting to hear about the UK process, it is generally a lot more streamlined here with a shipping agent looking after all the import side (noting the exact final price can still be a surprise.....) and I've used a few different brokers on the japan (or US) side, and never had any trouble with any of them....luck of the draw I guess. You mentioned you didn't get the auction sheet (understandable since you bought it from a dealer, not auction), but I always try and get hold of that because they are pretty thorough. I've imported 2x R grade vehicles over the years and both were fine, repairs in Japan are pretty thorough compared to here in Oz.
    • BTW I measured the jack I have, it is 70mm at the saddle but you only have about 700 until it returns to 150mm high at the cylinder so it is good but no magic bullet.
    • My experience with Rising Sun Exports Before agreeing to the sale I tried to do as much research as I could (obviously), his Facebook reviews are 98% and he goes Live at least once or twice a week. I contacted 2 people in the UK who had used him for their imports, both had positive feedback. His explanation and talk through of the import process was thorough, answering any query no matter how stupid it was. It felt as soon as the money was sent, communication dropped off. I asked for shipping updates every 2 weeks or so, not wanting to pester him, he never had any updates. I wasn't informed the car had been dropped off at the port, I only found out by his Facebook story. I asked for the photos taken at the port, knowing he would need some for insurance purposes. I received a few 5 second clips and that's it. When asked again, he said his staff had them. Weeks later I asked again, he tells me he doesn't have any, but does have 50 photos from the original advert. I never received them. I eventually got the documents sent via WhatsApp after I mentioned the port was requesting them. I purchased a CarVX report, to find out the vehicle is a Grade R with recorded accident damage, first recorded in 2017 when it was first auctioned. He never told me the grade, then again I didn't ask. His response was "Grade R means nothing, it wasn't chassis damage". Still, I would have liked to have been informed about it. Jon prides himself on being open and honest when it comes to inspecting cars, it's his main job doing so at the auctions for customers. When the vehicle arrived in the UK I noticed a few little cosmetic issues. It's a 21 year old car so it wasn't going to be mint condition. The side skirts are cracked on each corner and the sealant is failing. The front grill on the bonnet/hood isn't secured very well, mounting studs are missing. Both minor things, but again, it would have been nice to be told. During a Facebook Live walk around video of the vehicle, he mentioned it has a front Whiteline anti roll bar/sway bar. While on the inspection ramp, I noticed the stock item has been installed. When first questioned, his response was "the ARB? Switched? Since when, it never had them". Since sending video and photo evidence I've not received a response. I'm probably being over critical of the overall condition of an old car, but all I wanted was honesty (which he claims to have). I'm aware I wasn't his only customer, he's busy doing XYZ but other reviews praise him for great communication with regular updates and photos, I felt I didn't receive the same treatment.
    • I was able to get some underside photos while the car was on the ramp The suspension is all Altezza/IS200/IS300 so getting part's will hopefully be less of a headache
    • Welcome to my 2004 Toyota Mark ii IR-V Fortuna (series 2) With a 1JZ-GTE powerplant under the bonnet (hood) it'll give me plenty of scope for power upgrades. For those who aren't familiar with imports, the 1JZ-GTE is a 2.5L 6 cylinder VVTi engine with a single turbocharger. This has the factory R154 5 speed gearbox, along with a aftermarket 2 way LSD differential (brand unknown). Under the arches are a set of CST Zero 1 alloys, 18x9 +30 225/40 up front and 18x9.5 +15 265/35 on the rear. The car was quite low in Japan and there's evidence of the wheels catching the rolled arches/fenders. The tyre's aren't great so I'm in two minds whether to replace both or just the tyres and put up with the wider wheels on the rear. The car still uses stock brakes with the addition of some braided hoses. The exterior is stock with the exception of a BN Sports front bumper and a replacement Fortuna grill  Moving to the interior, the steering wheel has been replaced with a dished MOMO steering wheel (which will get swapped for my Momo Tuner for the time being) Defi Link Gauges are mounted above the climate controls and on the A pillar, the Oil Temp,Oil Pressure,Water Temp and Boost gauges should help with spirited and track driving  The stock seats have been replaced with some retrimmed Recaro bucket seats. Being a larger build these are a little snug, unfortunately the orange isn't for me so I'll look into replacing these down the line. Other modifications include a twin plate clutch, Blitz intercooler, Evolve alloy radiator, a stainless exhaust with decat, HKS EVC-S boost controller and coil overs
