I'm guessing you actually want to know the size, despite not asking that. They are 8"

Thanks mate, yes that's all I was after, I knew they 18" diameter, just wanted the width.

Cheers

Paul

Hi Guys,

Where can i get a Bose Interface & Storage pocket, im looking to do a double din radio swap as I'm sick of the factory CD player skipping all the time.

I currently have the Bose system with navi and reverse camera. I still want to be able to use the reverse camera.

Cheers.

CAN I REPLACE THE RADIO IN MY CAR IF I HAVE THE BOSE PREMIUM AUDIO

yes it is possible.
you need:

new 2DIN facia panel to suit your car.
new A/C controller (two versions with 'DUAL' button and without)
Bose interface (there are two versions with NAVI and without.)
Rear Bracket
Nissan Storage Pocket

note if you do not have BOSE audio the process is a LOT easier. you do not need the bose interface.

Contact me and I will help you.

AUDIO/NAVIGATION RELATED QUESTIONS

MY CD PLAYER ATE MY CDs AND WONT GIVE THEM BACK

if the 6cd indash unit displays ERROR F0

CD mechanism is jammed due to a nylon guide that has splintered in the transport. the discs cannot be removed without literally stripping the whole thing down.

the unit can be repaired for $550-650 depending on the overall condition of the CD unit. parts are Ex Japan

MY CD PLAYER SKIPS OR WONT PLAY NORMAL CDS - I SEE 'ERROR F3' ON MY SCREEN

time for a new laser. repairable at a cost. WORST part is the labor to remove and refit it. laser is available locally. this IS NOT a DIY job

DOES THE FACTORY CD UNIT PLAY BURNT CD'S / MP3 format

- yes it does. it DOES NOT play CDRW. it does not play mp3 discs

CAN I CONNECT AN IPOD TO THE FACTORY RADIO

yes and the radio WILL control it OR if you have the factory NAV screen it can be done as well.

there are two methods

Method 1

the other one will use the factory radio as a controller and you can drive the IPOD off the steering controls IF you have them.

yes it is possible.

you need:

new 2DIN facia panel to suit your car.

Rear Bracket

Nissan Storage Pocket

CAN I ADD AN EXTERNAL AMPLIFIER(s) TO THE EXISTING RADIO

without bose audio - yes you can. the process is the same as a 'normal' radio.

with BOSE - again yes but you will need an interface.

I WANT TO CHANGE MY SPEAKERS - WHAT SIZE ARE THEY??

front are 6.5" tweeter is a 1" soft dome

front speakers require a mounting plate to be made for proper fit.

rears are 5.25" and require TOTAL removal of the rear area for access.

if you have BOSE audio the 'subwoofers' are 6x9s. amplifier is located in the boot rear left on floor under panel in coupe and under rear shelf in sedan.

I HAVE FACTORY FITTED NAVIGATION WITH TV. HOW CAN I:

1. GET A MAP DVD SO IT WORKS IN AUSTRALIA

2. CHANGE THE TEXT TO ENGLISH.

3. CHANGE THE TV SO IT WORKS HERE.

1. No. There are no maps for this unit used in the Australian market. It can be converted using a local unit if Navigation is required

2. there is a software hack in the works from russia that will reportedly fix this. see HERE for this. this DOES NOT FIX THE MAP ISSUE!!

3. Japan use an ENTIRELY different televison system that cannot be converted for operation here. a local tuner must be fitted for TV to work. it is suggested that the antenna system be changed as well for one with higher gain and better reception.

Hi Chris. I have 2001 v35 350gt sedan. The stereo broken. I bought a second hand to put in. It works great with Aircon but stereo like Dics and Radio not work. It couldn't find any FM or AM channel. It show CD error F3 on screen. I am grateful if you could give some advice.

I use a nissan v35 with vq25 engine. He was spending a lot of fuel and had to replace the engine with a new one of Vietnamese origin. The new engine did not come with a computer so I had to use the old installation. At this point the engine does not start because. Does anyone help me there?

its automatic. you might have your Speed sensor wire cut.

Some of the Vs have an aftermarket switch to turn the sensor on or off so they can use the TV, DVD or Aftermarket Sat Nav while driving.

I Did on my V35 and do on my V36

its a design fault within the unit. takes out the main panel. the TV/ navi is a different system . so you have two problems. the first of no AC is easier to sort by replacing that assembly and putting a new radio in. the non functional screen is a problem with the navi unit above tyhe glove box

MODIFICATIONS

Cruise Control

these cars DID NOT have Cruise control factory (exception is the USDM G35.) . you can fit a Vacuum unit or DBW Setup to them without hassle. I do a fully integrated DBW setup for these that runs the original Controls on the steering wheel ( you MUST have the standard wheel!)- Contact me directly if you want one done. if the car is going through compliance here in Brisbane it can be done there also.

radio controls on the OE steering wheel.

this one is a 20 minute mod that is literally a plug in and work affair. parts are available from me/ nissan Oz for this mod It involves removing the steering wheel , removing the blank on the left side, putting the factory piece in place, putting it back together and enjoying. makes driving your Ipod a LOT easier that fiddling with the radio

Hello Chris, how do I get in touch with you for this cruise control mod.

I have just bought a 2008 370 GT and was about to go ahead with an aftermarket unit but you sound as if you can give me something genuine. Anyway, I wait to hear from you.
Cheers John

    • I got back to Japan in January and was keen to get back on track as quickly as possible. Europe is god-awful for track accessibility (by comparison), so I picked up a first-gen GT86 in December just to have something I could jump into right away. The Skyline came over in a container this time and landed in early January. It was a bit battered after Europe, though—I refused to do anything beyond essential upkeep while it was over there. The clutch master cylinder gave out, and so did the power steering. I didn’t even bother changing the oil; it was the same stuff that went in just before I left Japan the first time. Naughty. Power steering parts would’ve cost double with shipping and taxes, so knowing I’d be heading back to Japan, I just postponed it and powered through the arm workout. It took a solid three months to get the car back on the road. Registration was a nightmare this time around. There were a bunch of BS fees to navigate, and sourcing parts was a headache. I needed stock seats for shaken, mistakenly blew 34k JPY on some ENR34 seats—which, of course, didn’t fit—then ended up having the car’s technical sheet amended to register it as a two-seater with the Brides. Then there’s the GT86. Amazing car. Does everything I want it to do. Parts are cheap, easy to find, and I don’t care what anyone says—it’s super rewarding to drive. I’ve done a few basic mods: diff ratio, coilovers, discs, pads, seat, etc. It already had a new exhaust manifold and the 180kph limiter removed, so I assume it’s running some kind of map. I’ve just been thrashing it at the track non-stop—mostly Fuji Speedway now, since I need something with higher speed after all that autobahn time. The wheels on the R34 always pissed me off—too big, and it was a nightmare getting tires to fit properly under the arches. So I threw in the towel and bought something that fits better. Looks way cleaner too (at least to me)—less hotboy, less attention-seeking. Still an R34, though. Now for future plans. There are a few things still outstanding with the car. First up, the rear subframe needs an overhaul—that’s priority one. Next, I need to figure out an engine rebuild plan. No timeline yet, but I want to keep it economical—not cutting corners, just not throwing tens of thousands at a mechanic I can barely communicate with. And finally, paint. Plus a bit of tidying up here and there.
    • Nope, needed to clearance under the bar a little with a heat gun, a 1/2" extension as the "clearancer", and big hammer, I was aware of this from the onset, they fit a 2.0 with this intake no problems, but, the 2.5 is around 15mm taller than a 2.0, so "clearancing" was required  It "just" touched when test fitting, now, I have about 10mm of clearance  You cannot see where it was done, and so far, there's no contact when giving it the beans Happy days
    • It's been a while since I've updated this thread. The last year (and some) has been very hectic. In the second-half of 2024 I took the R34 on a trip through Germany, Italy, France and Switzerland - it was f*cking great. I got a little annoyed with the attention the car was getting around Europe and really didn't drive it that much. I could barely work on the car since I was living in an inner-city apartment (with underground parking). During the trip, the car lost power steering in France - split hose - and I ended up driving around 4,000kms with no power steering.  There were a few Nurburgring trips here and there, but in total the R34 amassed just shy of 7,000kms on European roads. Long story short, I broke up with the reason I was transferred to Europe for and requested to be moved back to Japan. The E90, loved it. It was a sunk cost of around EUR 10,000 and I sold it to a friend for EUR 1,500 just to get rid of it quickly. Trust me, moving countries f*cking sucks and I could not be bothered to be as methodical as I was the first time around.
    • I assume clearances were all a-okay?
