^^^^god that sounds good. How much power were you making.

In all those vids we were making 320kw at the wheels. We are now making a detuned 380kw with a heap more torque on a 2.8ltr but its useless untill we can make more grip.

Broke the outright record at SDMA Hillclimb, Fairbairn Park on Sunday. I understand the outright record has never been held by a lady before

Neil - Have a look at this track... if I can get around there without bellying, so can you. Bring Jess and Chubbs with you and make a weekend of it

good work michelle. no idea how you got around without bottoming out tho....the 350z did and its got 100mm clearance

Did you have the 350z at Fairbairn Park or at the complex next door where we had Texi? You shouldn't have any problems at Fairbairn Park.

yeah at fairburn park, the big dip on the top of the track about half way. couple of cars scraped there that day including most of the porsches too, but my gtst was fine. maybe its been cleaned up since then.

anyway sorry that was OT.

Video of me doing a burnout for new years. Stuffed a brand new set of tires in under a minute. I guess you get what you pay for lol.

Please note it was on a private road in the Northern Territory on a big block.

Nice vids Nisskid. Is it still an RB20? The car looks pretty behaved under power. I thought on the back straight you would be able to peg 5th gear? What sort of grunt has the bus got?

yeh mate, still RB20, unfortunately i was having a boostcontroller issue that day and was running just standard boost, so around 160rwkw, it should be running a touch over 180rwkw. also the tyres i was running were very warn RE070's, so fark all traction and couldnt hold a lot of corner speed and out of some of those corners id get bogged down in 3rd. im hoping with decent tyres i should be able to hold a bit more corner speed and be closer to the power band on the exit. aiming for something in the lower part of 1:20's with the 180rwkw and decent tyres.

    • How dare you sell your unreliable Skyline and buy a reliable, Toyota/Yamaha car with a strong gearbox, torsen LSD and Toyota reliability. At least you won't need to worry about oil pumps, big catch can, oil restrictors, blowing off power steering belts, sheering off 3rd gear, failing ABS relays/pumps, etc.
    • Hope you aren't too sore after that one, might take a day or 2 to notice yet and I guess it is a loooooong drive home. On the bright side, tube frame front end is a thing at superlap, right?

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
    • Yeah dunno why johhny posted that here with no context, just post on FB/insta bro where he put it up?  Laine had an off at T4 during Thurs prac, he's ok, car is less than perfect, they are done for the weekend, he can fill in the rest. Bando also binned it like 100m up the road.
