whats that going in?

went all out and got the v88

Yeah...its going to give me all the features i need...the cooking model Apexi Power FC was holding the car back from performing to its optimum. Flat shift, anti-lag, logging etc...is needed to go to the next level...free revving the car off the line with zero boost is now a thing of the past. Its going to be a handfull!

It doesnt look as pretty as a motec

Whats the little green circuit board i spy just above the ECU itself?

plug in adapter?

yes its a nissan pin-out plug....will save me a lot of time on installation.

this ecu combined with the 1100hp turbo upgrade, fully optioned PPG straight cut dogbox and a slightly lighter car should give me the hardware to chase the ANDRA class record...ive just got to get the skills (balls) to drive it to its potential.

looks sweet.

reckon the launch control etc will go better?

what power / time you expecting now?

why go this one? value for money or you know the distributer or features or what? a car of your calibre would have had a few options im guessing?

boost off the line is needed to get the 60's into the 1.3's (my best is 1.41) to run the low9's-high 8's

should be good for 900+hp at the tyres and with 3000lb's should be a high 8's car (without NOS)

i went with this one as its the best on the market $ for performance than any ECU, it performs as good as a MoTeC M800 without the huge pricetag. Its features, processor speed etc is equal to MoTeC and Ray Hall's after sales service and technical back-up is second to none...it was a no-brainer really. Mark Jacobsen doing the tuning is another bonus for me...in my opinion he is one of the worlds best GTR tuners.

if i can run this with success then it will give others confidence that they can run one too. I help market this product because i believe in it not because i make money from it. I have always given free advice on here with products ive found to be good and bad...if its not up to the task, ill definately say so. Stay tuned

Awsome, grats on your new goodies!

i heard they cant be used for r34s? is this true?

( i must have looked at a old mag issue)

all the Vi-PEC ecu's (V44 plug-in, V44 wire in and V88 wire in) can be used in an R34...except with an auto model you must retain the factory ecu to run the auto and use a wire in V44 or V88 to control the engine

Looks a lot like LINK ecu from outside. + the packaging is similar.

looks can be decieving

Can you guys get it through your head this is not a rebranded Link g3 or other ecu...

Alright i have read on there that the vipec is just a re branded link/adptronic(SP?)

i got this from the evo site by ray hall himself

"Hello Everyone,

When I stopped selling, promoting and supporting the Autronic product, I went looking for a replacement, as many of my old Autronic dealers wanted to stay with what ever I was selling. After some months of negotiations with a few company's I settled on one of them. They agreed to build me "new" ECU under by own brand name. They also were willing to build them to my specifications. After many years with Autronic I knew exactly what I required based on years of requests from customers. As many of my Vipec dealers had only worked with Autronic ECU in the past, it was important that the ECU used the same fuel control stragtery software, had QuickTune (Autotune) and used many of the same keystrokes.

The Vipec is not a rebadged Autronic or LinkPlus G3. It is a totally new range of ECU. We plan to make a range of plugin ECU for the EVO1 to 8 and the EVO9. The plugin for the EVO4 to 8 will be available next week. This is based on the V44, with extra injector and auxiliary outputs, plus more analog and digital inputs. It is what some have called a V64."

A friend of mine here in Newcastle who owns Mastertune Engineering (Lincoln Russell) has done a lot of the development of this product and i know how much work has gone into it to get it up to the performance level its now at....it may share some components of the Link but that is all. He was also involved in the development of the Autronic SM4 and rates this product far superior than it...the SM4 is an awesome product so thats a big call for him to make...but he has voted with his feet and upgraded the ECU in his VL 4WD RB26DETT...yes a VL with all GTR running gear to a V88.

I have heard it a few times, but i won't belive that Lincoln would say anything is better then Autronic unless i heard it from his mouth, and I did.

Made me feel that i should give back this SM4 and get one too :ermm:

    • Hi guys . Can someone help me  I bought an Android screen for my Nissan fuga but it won't turn on
    • My guesstimate, with no real numbers to back it up, is it won't effect it greatly at all.its not a huge change in position, and I can't see the air flow changing from in turbulence that much based on distance, and what's in front of it. Johnny and Brad may have some more numbers to share from experience though.
    • Which solenoid? Why was it changed? Again, why was this done? ...well, these wear..but ultimately, why was it changed? Did you reset the idle voltage level after fitment? I'm just a tad confused ~ the flash code doesn't allude to these items being faulty, so in my mind the only reason to change these things, would be some drive-ability issue....and if that's the case, what was the problem? Those questions aside, check if the dropping resistor is OK ...should be 11~14 ohms (TCU doesn't throw a flash code for this) ~ also, these TCU designs have full time power (to keep fault code RAM alive), and I think that'll throw a logic code (as opposed to the 10 hardware codes), if that power is missing (or the ram has gone bad in the TCU, which you can check..but that's another story here perhaps).
    • Question for people who "know stuff" I am looking at doing the new intake like the one in the picture (the pictured is designed for the OEM TB and intake plenum), this design has the filter behind the front bar, but, the filter sits where the OEM duct heads into the front bar, and the standard aperture when the OEM ducting is removed allows the filter to pulled back out of the front bar into the engine bay for servicing, a simple blanking plate is used to seal the aperture behind the filter This will require a 45° silicone hose from the TB, like the alloy pipe that is currently there, to another 45° silicone hose to get a straight run to the aperture in the front bar Question: how will it effect the tune if I move the MAF about 100-150mm forward, the red is around where my MAF is currently, and the green would be where it would end up Like this This is the hole the filter goes through  Ends up like this LOL..Cheers
    • Despite the level up question, actually I do know what that is....it is a pressure sender wire.  So check out around the oil filter for an oil pressure sender, or maybe fuel pressure near the filter or on the engine. Possibly but less likely coolant pressure sensor because they tend to be combined temp/pressure senders if you have one. Could also be brake pressure (in a brake line somewhere pre ABS) but maybe I'm the only one that has that on a skyline.
