Long time member here, i've created a dummy account in the hopes that one of my fellow liners can help, dont really want to air my dirty laundry, but I need to do something. Problem is my girlfriend is an angry person. Been together now for almost 6 years always been like this, always thinking it will get better. Never does, she needs help. Every day is a battle with the flak coming from one side, it's real bad. I was wanting to get feedback if anyone has any real good conselling services for this sort of thing. Been to a few already, problem is she's cluey and can manipulate the person into thinking it's my fault. She does know she needs help but she runs. Any places I can call for support, I don't know what to do and I am losing a bit of my soul everyday.

Relationships with psycho chicks are like playing golf. You get a few nice shots in for every hundred you hit and that's what keeps you coming back. If it wasn't for the scenery and the beer at the end I'd never play.

Many many thanks for responding Black Widow. Yes we went to them for a few months as well, it wasn't for us, but i have called them just now for an updated timetable of courses in case it's changed. It's hard to believe in a way that there aren't many female tailored anger management classes which makes it harder. Anyone been to or have real experience with one of these classes? Do they actually help? I just want to move forward with our lives.

From you it's called heresay, but purely as an observer (or even a victim - perhaps -perhaps)...

do you see these 2 following patterns in her...

A

i) aggressive

ii) dogmatic

iii) can't be told that she's wrong or to be corrected

iv) vexacious

v) manipulative

vi) condescends when things go right (eg I told you so attitude)

vii) feisty and temperamental

viii) vindictive

viii) blames when things go wrong

ix) overly suspicious

x) critical, judgemental

And/Or B

i) oversuppresses feelings

ii) avoids issues she should confront

iii) oversensitive

iv) mind races

v) easily hurt

vi) easily embarrassed

vii) loves to do things for others but can't ask others to do things for herself

viii) highly intelligent but used to get reports saying that she could do better if she paid more attention

viii) creative or artistic or musical

ix) finds it hard to apologise

x) has a sister or mother with similar or opposite traits

It's a bit unusual to have Block A without (the opposite) Block B too.

PM me if it's relevant

Terry

PS. There's a cousin Pattern to A & B as well.

PPS And if she has those patterns, it may not be her fault: a particular test from the University of Saskatchewan can identify what it is. And I use that Test (- lectured on it in Melb Uni 08/86)

angry how?

I won't go into details but it's like not normal angry.Like going from 0-200 in 5sec. From anything. So many times in one day every day. Sometimes violent. We don't have any specific issues, other people might say we lead great lives. I've even got her to do scans and see a neuro to see if there was something wrong, but nothing thank God.

Is she on the pill?

See if she can try another one. They can make women mental

+11ty

my missus had issues with the pill a few years back, and the doc put her onto an injection called Depo Provera (funnily enough, the same thing is used to chemically castrate child sex offenders :) ) and it helped her a heap, so it would def be worth looking into IMO

Maybe she should look into some individual counselling to see if it is suppressed issues - the hair trigger may be the symptom rather than the issue?

get her to try some of the self assesments here

If you are really "losing a little bit of your soul everyday" then walk away... I'm not trying to be harsh but you shouldnt have to comprimise your life for someone else.

Start thinking of yourself and call it quits because you only get one go at life.

obviously she's not an out and out asshole, or he wouldnt bother trying to help her... i assume. if she is an asshole, just leave.

THE PILL. watch out for that shit. it does strange things to many women. i went thru the pill thing with my gf too. she went on the pill for a while, and it made her crazy. she seemed pretty angry some of the time too. we broke up about 5 times during that period. i just kept walking out. i'm not the most patient person.

she has since stopped, and we are both much more relaxed now. its literally like day and night. it really stuffed with her hormones.

does she drink a lot? that wouldnt help either.

put your foot down and tell it like it is

if she seriously has a mental disorder (dont mean it in a bad way but thats what it is in a sence), i dont think "putting your foot down and telling it like it is" is a good thing to do....

if anything it'll make it much worse and she will just clam up all reason and still be a psycho,

if she admits she has a problem then its a tiny bit easier to seek profesional help, but it'll never be completely gone.....

i had a gf with bipolar a while back, treatments did her well, broke up anyway but she was mostly cured by that time....

has she been diagnosed with anything???

I want to do this test.

another +11ty billion for the pill. cherie changed pills and it turned her into a mental bitch. she changed back to her old pill and she is back to her normal bitchy self, instead of a demon from hell (or the ice queen as i called her), LOL.

    • Driveline vibration is resolved. I ended up loosening all my engine mount and trans mount bolts, giving it a good shake then retightening everything and it's gone... Let's just say I was surprised that fixed it.  I've been happily driving it around again but unfortunately put zero time into my direct port/constant pressure WMI setup. I'm on vacation next week, so I'll try and finalize it then.  On a different note, I spent all week fuel/ignition mapping 2x 216L V16 engines. Turbo's were burning glycol and we swapped them out for larger units. We also had planned emissions testing on site, so I figured I'd be there the same week to use their instrumentation and massage any emissions issues out if needed. This was a first for me. Fuel management is similar in certain ways to automotive (i.e air density as load variable) but very different in others. It's all PLC based and AFR's are controlled by air and not fuel. They use a control valve between the turbo and air manifold to control pressure which in turn controls AFR's. Due to this, target AFR tables supplied by the OEM are in pressures and not mass which really through me off. They use air pressure vs fuel pressure tables. I also relied on an O2 concentration sensor the emissions team had in the exhaust. Ignition timing was also all over the place and we were losing a fair bit of power. They're now happily sitting at 16-40BTDC depending on load. We were making about 1600kw at 900rpm at 90% load. Engines were running a lot smoother as well.
    • heh, aint no R32 ever meeting modern targa cage rules unless the driver is veeeery short OP, good luck with the sale, since its already in the land of freedom I'm sure you will find a good buyer.
    • meh, it was a good video, clear about the issue and how he dealt with it. A bit heavy on the RTV and very brave to put an RB in anything without rebuilding it first, but otherwise I thought it was good Dose, I'm not sure that having the pickup forward is a big issue; yes of course the oil could shift under brakes but the sump should never be empty enough for that to be a problem (unless you also have a higher volume oil pump, and that oil can't return from the head to the sump quickly enough)
    • I can donate $100 to your upgrade fund. So long as you can donate the IC7 my way....
    • I'd love a Haltech ECU, and Haltech 10 dash. Was having a chat with Rob and Andy @ Haltech when Rob put one in his MR2. First one I'm kind of interested in too, as you can dim it RIGHT down. Andy was saying bright dashes is one of his peeves too!
