sound like fun but there aint many people here with a CAMS license!

Guys, just found what I was looking for. I have just bought a GTS-T after racing an MX5 for two years and wanted to know where I can go to do some track days with other skylines.

The day you are talking about is the HSV owners club day at the island and I have entered. The HSV guys are really nice and run excellent days as I organised many days with them with the MX5 club. Spectators are always MOST welcome and entry is free. Just let the guy know at the gate that you are there for the HSV track day.

As for the day, to run you'll need a level 2ns licence which you may be able to get on the day ($88), a fire extinguisher with metal bracket available from KMart ($32) and a second bonnet restraint. For this a netal cable with two snaplocks and body mounted ramset eyelets, all available from bunnings will do.

The HSV usually requires you to have a 4 point harness but will alow first timers to run with the standard seat belt.

Clothing is long sleeve cotton or wool. NO SYNTHETIC as if you stack and the car catches on fire you'll be shrinkwrapped!!

Anyway, hope to see some of you guys, there. My name is James and I have a silver series II R33GTS-T.

If you have any queries at all re track days feel free to send me an email.

Furthermore, back to the original reason to post, is there a specific club here that runs Nissan/Import track days?? Would be good to run with some other skylines or even a club that has a motorsport championship etc organised. Currently a member of MX5club and Maserati clubs....

Cheers...James (Brutus is my cars nick name)

Apparently I got my entry in too late so mat not be running. Don't get it as I sent it straight after talking to the organiser who stated there were 45 places left!! Very miffed as i was hanging to get this car out to the track and the island is a fun place to start!!

Will probably ber there to at least spectate anyway so if anyone goes down keep an eye out for me....

    • I'm normally copping my own abuse from neglecting my daily drivers. "Those suspension bushes will last a bit more", "Don't worry about the oil leak, just keep topping it up". The project cars I'm always doing things slowly on them as I'm wanting them to be done better, and neater, and nicer. Luckily I don't have to deal with 18 year old Matt's "Learning to wire" stuff in the project cars. And there's only one piece of wiring I'm displeased about in the Landcruiser, and it's about to be cut out... However, the box loads of parts that have been going through this place lately for the Landcruiser... Brake pads Brake Rotors Full handbrake overhaul Wheel Bearings Seals Swivel hubs Steering Boxes Half the suspension joints Shocks Air bags (Ones to go in the rear springs for towing) Water pump Timing kit Lower timing case Harmonic Balancer Radiator Lots of other little seals and shits Gas struts for the bonnet New power window switches And god knows what else I've forgotten... Ha ha ha I have my fingers crossed the pinion seals don't start leaking on the diffs, that the transfer case doesn't leak, and the gearbox input shaft doesn't leak, nor the rear main seal. As they're about the only seals I haven't replaced in the driveline! I'm seriously eyeing off buying new caliper rebuild kits front and rear brake calipers... I'll probably recheck all the valve clearances soon too, and hopefully, it should be all good and sweet to haul some long distance trips again!
    • Every time I pull my 3x gauges out of the console and see the crack-addict way that I did the wiring, and I just can't bring myself to tear it all apart and "make it nice", because it is currently working. In fact, the last time I was in there I probably made it worse.
