F1's not going anywhere. It's no big deal. There'll be another tyre supplier deal soon enough.

Sure some of these street/desert circuits are a yawn, but there's still a whole heap of decent tracks.

Ok, trying to not be a prima donna here... However, this is going from bad, to worse, to completely f*cking ridiculous... Big teams are pulling out, F1 loosing its sole tyre supplier, Goodyear is committed elsewhere (USA, Drag scene... ect), Pirrelli are Italian and inherently useless... Firestone are basically bridgestone anyway, and Michelin will probably just tell F1 to go f*ck itself... What then? Dunlop???? Oh f*cking YAY!

Some strange stories doing the rounds! Latest is that Button is doing the rounds and did a tour at McLaren with Whitmarsh. Button is pissed at Brawn for not coughing up the dollars and McLaren pissed at Kimi for asking too many dollars.

My attempt at a far fetched silly season change is Merc convince Mac Attack to lift the veto on RBR using Mercedes engines if they get Vettel. RBR lose Vettel, but get a great engine, a big cash payout for Vettel freeing up budget for development and meeting the terms of Kimi. The other week there were stories that Kimi was talking to RBR and people simply assumed it would result in Webber losing his seat. The strange thing at the time was when questioned Webber welcomed the idea saying that he would be a good fit for the team...a strange thing to say at the time. He also said the contracts are signed but would work themselves out...so either he was having a bit of fun with the media or there was batering going on for Vettel.

An RBR pairing of Kimi and Webber is no weaker then the Vettel-Webber. Newey knows the guy and would know whether he is better/worse then Vettel and could be a force in the background.

LOL, but it wont happen :(

Button holds talks with McLaren in Woking

tell you what

that would be an excellent partnership, maybe even better than the kimi/hammo dynamic

i think they'd be a great "team", where kimi and lewis would create a somewhat incompatible and inevitably spiteful relationship

... fkn excellent to watch either way

Watch the UK press just cream their pants if that happens; Two British drivers in a strong British team. Tabloid heaven.

watch the shit storm rain down on them when thay come second and third instead of fist and second in melbounre

you can read the scathing headlines now

its pretty much the only reason i woud like to see kimi in there, an all brittish team would disintegrate almost as fast as an all italian one

    • No, code 21 is very straightforward. It can only be the things described in that diagnostic flow. In fact it has no way of knowing that the spark plug resistance is out of spec.
    • Hi, SteveL Thank you very much for your reply, you seem to be the only person on the net who has come up with a definitive answer for which I am grateful. The "Leak" was more by way of wet bubbles when the pedal was depressed hard by a buddy while trying to gey a decent pedal when bleeding the system having fitted the rebuilt BM50 back in the car, which now makes perfect sense. A bit of a shame having just rebuilt my BM50, I did not touch the proportioning valve side of things, the BM50 was leaking from the primary piston seal and fluid was running down the the Brake booster hence the need to rebuild, I had never noticed any fluid leaking from that hole previously it only started when I refitted it to the car. The brake lines in the photo are "Kunifer" which is a Copper/Nickel alloy brake pipe, but are only the ones I use to bench bleed Master cylinders, they are perfectly legal to use on vehicles here in the UK, however the lines on the car are PVF coated steel. Thanks again for clearing this up for me, a purchase of a new BMC appears to be on the cards, I have been looking at various options in case my BM50 was not repairable and have looked at the HFM BM57 which I understand is manufactured in Australia.
    • Well the install is officially done. Filled with fluid and bled it today, but didn't get a chance to take it on a test drive. I'll throw some final pics of the lines and whatnot but you can definitely install a DMAX rack in an R33 with pretty minor mods. I think the only other thing I had to do that isn't documented here is grind a bit of the larger banjo fitting to get it to clear since the banjos are grouped much tighter on the DMAX rack. Also the dust boots from a R33 do not fit either fyi, so if you end up doing this install for whatever reason you'll need to grab those too. One caveat with buying the S15 dust boots however is that the clamps are too small to fit on the R33 inner tie rod since they're much thicker so keep the old clamps around. The boots also twist a bit when adjusting toe but it's not a big deal. No issues or leaks so far, steering feels good and it looks like there's a bit more lock now than I had before. Getting an alignment on Saturday so I'll see how it feels then but seems like it'll be good to go
