Using one of these: http://www.altronics.com.au/cat.asp?cat=11...rp=424&id=K2750

Lots of custom work involved, so don't ask me how much erik!

Also have a look at http://www.mp3car.com if it's still around..

I've got a 40 gig MP3 box in my R33 - bought it here - http://www.ssiamerica.com - it's wicked! 6000 songs at 160kps with still 6 gig free! :P

Lol guys,

If i can hook up my laptop and get tv or using laptop monitor ,

I can play songs, watch video, watch tv, play games as well etc :P

Do you think I can go to some workshop to ask for this idea?

It will rocks , if a workshop can do this.

bam, I got the idea when I was driving my car :P and I'm thinking I got no use of my laptop so I just came out :) I'm full of crazy ideas

do you think I can remove my laptop monitor and put into my car ? :)

already thought about this (check the xbox thread)... obviously if its still connected to the notebook then there is no problem... however if you intend on using just the screen as a TV then its a bit tricky...

you either need to build a signal converter to take the tv signal from your AV box -> VGA(DB15) which you can buy for just under 100... alternatively you can always try to decode the signaling on your notebook monitor (there are sites on the net that list these for some screens) and then build yourself a litle converter box so the tv will take a pal input signal...

basically = pain in the ass, if your doing this to save money then spend 300 on a shonky tv instead of a nice 2-6k indash one

yeah, that mp3 car site rools.

there is a kit they sell which guides you through ripping apart your home pc and hard-installing the HD and CPU in your boot to play just about whatever you want....DVDs, Mp3s etc.

I had/have a nerd mate who in year 12, was too povvo to buy a head unit, so he installed an AC/DC converter and ran his computer and a solid state amp (A/B class) with a dual battery in his boot. he had the computer cd-rom drive installed in the din slot in his dash mounted on spring dampers....

....he also restored a model A ford, so I shouldnt laugh, but I did.

i'v done it before in a mates car but ours wasent a permanent

system all we had was laptop sound card to av out to av cords to amp in the boot becase all the speakers were connected to the amp this worked well power was suplied by the 12V charger unit for the laptop not like it was installed just sat on the dash or on the seat most of the time did the job though :)

if u really wanted to mod it u can split the screen and the keyboard into to pieces and just ran longer wires to your screen mounted where ever then have base unit/keyboard in glove box

the Tv issue would be intresting to see done good luck with it

    • The oil pressure sensor for logging, does it happen to be the one that was slowly breaking out of the oil block? If it is,I would be ignoring your logs. You had a leak at the sensor which would mean it can't read accurately. It's a small hole at the sensor, and you had a small hole just before it, meaning you could have lost significant pressure reading.   As for brakes, if it's just fluid getting old, you won't necessarily end up with air sitting in the line. Bleed a shit tonne of fluid through so you effectively replace it and go again. Oh and, pay close attention to the pressure gauge while on track!
    • I don't know it is due to that. It could just be due to load on track being more than a dyno. But it would be nice to rule it out. We're talking a fraction of a second of pulling ~1 degree of timing. So it's not a lot, but I'd rather it be 0... Thicker oil isn't really a "bandaid" if it's oil that is going to run at 125C, is it? It will be thicker at 100 and thus at 125, where the 40 weight may not be as thick as one may like for that use. I already have a big pump that has been ported. They (They in this instance being the guy that built my heads) port them so they flow more at lower RPM but have a bypass spring that I believe is ~70psi. I have seen 70psi of oil pressure up top in the past, before I knew I had this leak. I have a 25 row oil cooler that takes up all the space in the driver side guard. It is interesting that GM themselves recommend 0-30 oil for their Vette applications. Unless you take it to the track where the official word is to put 20-50w oil in there, then take that back out after your track day is done and return to 0-30.
    • Nice, looks great. Nice work getting the factory parts also. Never know when you'll need them.
    • Thanks @jtha7 I will have a look around tomorrow but it is a prick of a spot. These are some photos i tried taking
    • I take it that the knock retard is from bearings tapping a little tune? Thicker oil is a fragile bandaid. You need a much bigger oil cooler and probably the bigger pump being discussed.
