after a few issues with people I would rather not deal with I have decided that there will be no more tuning or help available in my spare time.

I have had enough, close friends or previously tuned cars only from now on I am affraid.

Hate to let the f**kwits spoil it, but i have realised that there is no point tuning cars for peanuts anymore.

sorry

hey mate, sorry to hear about your bad experiences. its a shame that you decided to pull out and not do it anymore. i was really looking forward to you tuning my car.

as 2rismo said, i think ill take it to yavuz (was my first idea) until i read up abit more about your tuning etc & cost wise you seemed like the best idea.

it takes alot of trust to pur your car in your tuners hands.

all in all, if you are ready to tune again gt, send me a pm or a msg on msn (thats if i havent got it tuned already lol)

gl mate, and keep up the good work :D

id never be able to trust myself tuning my own car so i think ill leave it up to the experts lol.

I feel a whole better about the situation after everyone voiced their opinions and i probly won't stop all together - will just be choosy on what i take on and charge a bit more for it.

If you decide to go for a Vipec then let me know, I will definatly be interested in doing that for you, just not too keen on organising Nistune boards and getting the ecu modded to take the board etc etc... If you do all the setup work and get it running in your car PROPERLY so you can drive it to the dyno to get it tuned then I will tune it for you.

And as for Mr UE... Your in damn good hands there, I would have to say he is probly one of the best tuners Sydney have to offer, and more importanly he is honest.

:(

yeah but he is in sydney and you are in newcastle, his car will be off the road while your doing the chip for him etc etc.. I would rather have nothing to do with it... If he organises it with you directly then that could work ;)

drives car up...i modify the ecu...drives to dyno...you tune car.

hey GT,

narh im not getting a vipec/nistune coz its outta my budget.

im using a tightarse emanage for my application.

car wont be able to move but can be towed/pushed to wherever ready to be tuned on the dyno.

thats cool mate, if you rather it be runing to tune it from then thats fine with me, i aint gonna force you to do something you dont want to ;)

no way the car will be running unless i get a pfc since its got the base map in it

mate if a 240 dollar nistune board is out of your budget then sell your skyline and start riding a pushbike

ill be selling my emanage ultimate dirt cheap soon

as i have gone to Nistune

but that is your choice i guess

Oh no am I too late! I got an SMS from Anthony a few hours ago asking him to put my opinion of his tune of my GTR last year. Not to talk it up but just to say something, which I presume to mean my honest opinion.

I have to say I am VERY happy with his tune! I drive sedately most of the time, but when I do give it some stick I am not kind to the car when I do (although I am kind to the triple clutch on launching and gear changes to avoid blowing the gearbox). The car just goes better across the whole rev range after the tune, and it also got rid of my compressor surge/turbo shuffle. Even should my engine die from here I will not blame GT's tune. The car had a fairly tired engine when I got it and the compression across the cylinders was a little uneven before I did installed the new turbos, I just decided I was feeling lucky enough to be able to save up for a rebuild by the time she goes. If anything my car is the real acid test as to whether or not a tired engine can stand up to GT's tune and so far so good.

It was a road tune only so I don't know how much power it had before and after. Just that the car gets more power and uses less fuel now than before. I think I may have to threaten violence on someone/something if I can't get Anthony to tune my car again with my next upgrade :P The fact that he lives 2 minutes away from me by pure coincidence is a bonus.

Car is an R33 GTR, 3.5" turbo-back exhaust (except for one dump pipe - don't ask!), bigger FMIC, 780cc Sard injectors, HKS intake plumbing, HKS 2530 turbos tuned at 20psi. Oh and it's midnight purple which I think is good for +5rwhp

Wohoo hey gt sorry I organized a tune with you ages ago before I went to Korea but I stayed on an extra month and stuff and now I'm broke haha but when I can and if you want, please fix my tune and give me a good road tune (atleast 70 knock these days ='( )

By the way I had my tune done for $1000 spent alot of time on the dyno and these days it knocks so bad (this was done by one of the top performance workshops in Sydney I won't say who but they are expensive have been around for 20 years and it still pings! I never once took it back to them and complained but I'd rather just take my money elsewhere

Oh and GT is the man just look at all the stuff he's done with tuning on e85 and helping with emissions tunes, can't believe there's even a thread on this!

i never knew how much a nistune cost. is it better then both the emanage blue/ultimate? if so i rather get it done coz 1) its cheaper & 2) no messy wires everywhere.

now who can do the nistune rom for my 34? if so pm me

Got my car dyno-tuned(powerfc) by Guilt-Toy around 2months ago, retune and touchup from 100octane -> 98octane. Even with the lower octane rating the car is making around 20rwkw MORE! on Guilt-Toy's dyno and reconfirmed when i ran my car at the SAU Dyno day and made 245rwkw where on my previous tune only made 225rwkw.

He spent a good 2-3 hours on the tune mainly targeting the low end which my previous tuner didn't even touch, so now it doesn't blow a cloud of black smoke when i floor it and is alot smoother.

Also got my O2 Sensor changed with the help of Guilt-toy prior to the tune and because it wasn't coming off, we had to drop the dump pipe to change it.

My fuel economy is up especially for freeways but even for city driving, power is also up! what more can you want?

I'm very happy with the work done by Guilt-Toy and the attention to detail that he puts into his work, and can recommend him to anyone that requires their skyline tuned.

You sure you don't want a Vipec?? you can make your car sound like this :)

Video of me cruisin at the Summernats with Dead32 in the car (i do his tuning too lol)

Note the guy on the left, you see him jumping outta the way of the extreame anti lag forces of the RB30DET & Vipec :D

Just seen this and its a sad thing to read !

Over here people will kill for someone like Ant that is so helpful and willing to give knowledge without charging the world.

As always its the short sighted few that have brought a "well quick car" that spoil it for the proper enthuiasists :(

Everyone is far to quick to look for someone to blame these days before even finding out what went wrong

All the best Ant and hope you still enjoy what you are doing whatever way :(

ahh where do i start anth? lol

ive had prob more issue's with tune's then most, continuously getting f**ked over by "well known" tuner's.. i was never fussed with the amount of power it made, i just didnt want thing's to go bang as i drove my cefiro hard and took it to the track, skidpan etc... so my main aim was that it was nice and safe on limiter and higher in the rpm... i then got "epa'ed" and anth orgainised a 4 gas analyser dyno for me to run on, we then tunned to a finer level which was roughly 30min dyno time!! basicaly spot on, he knew what was best for my application "to me most important" it wasnt that he set a desired air/fuel ratio made sure knock on the h/c was low and tuned to that...

in short i had never been so confident to drive my car hard as i did after he touched it, it started first time everytime even in freezing cold, got over 500km's to a tank "cruising" and made 20more rwkw on 4psi less boost then the so called "expert's" in syd which tuned to a 15:1 and above a/f ratio...

it's a shame that someone has to ruin it for other's but such is life...

hopefully he wont mind touching my dirty sr now

    • It was a great, but typical track day, and some VB was ingested at the night time debrief 🤪
    • And so, to round this out, I couldn't be happier to confirm @MBS206 has decided to buy the car. He drove down from sunny QLD with a trailer last week and it is off to its new home today. I'll let Matt confirm on next steps but I understand broadly that the plan is to leave it pretty much as is, and just get some quality wheel time with a nicely balanced car that is pretty much track ready. There are a few a jobs still to be done first but nothing too major and I think its a very smart buy Dinner last night at the Paragon with a round of VBs (mostly) for Neil
    • Well, 50 pages and the end of a chapter for this car. We took it out for a shakedown at Wakie yesterday, and everything went well. There were a couple of niggles: - Oil cooler fitting leak - tightened, cleaned, stopped leaking - Radiator cap overflow fitting was leaking....Mark called it, the overflow fitting was threaded in and not tight....tightened, tested and held pressure - Small oil leak at the rear of the block, probably the turbo oil feed - too hot to get at it comfortably but probably just needs to be nipped up - leak at the driver's side rear brake line where it meets the hardline. Fitting wasn't loose, so Matt backed it off and back on, no further leaks - there's also a leak somewhere on the top of the fuel tank, maybe that cross over fuel line - that was has been left to fix when its on a hoist Otherwise than those niggles the car went great, turned great and stopped great so it was a very successful day out. I'm always really nervous when a car first hits the track after a long break, especially with a brand new engine as well but it was great. VID-20251011-WA0007.mp4  Big thanks to @The Bogan who dropped by and helped out, @MBS206 and my nephew Lachlan the apprentice.  Neil's wife Mel also surprised the hell out of all of us by dropping by; she's up in Tamworth these days but was travelling to Melbourne so had plausible deniability for turning up at the garage, it was great to see her but also obviously a bit sad all round.

    • Unsolicited advice? Keep the engine as close to stock as you can. Nothing wrong with adding some boost and making a little more power, but given where you are, you really don't want to try to make it into a monster. I can't imagine the roads are up to it, and the lack of locla support when it grenades will be a ball ache. FWIW, If there is a dyno around that you can access, then brand new injectors are a good idea, which will lead you to (at least) putting a Nistune in it, which will allow you to put an R35 AFM on it, all of which will make it possible to make it much much nicer to drive and live with.
