id let it go for 1200

thats cheap, but thats life too

You should be able to get $1200 for it easy! As long as the inside's in good nick,as that's the most important bit,I reckon.

Yep engine brace would be a good idea as well!! Just checked R30.co.jp and there is some interesting stuff on there in wouldn't mind! Like i said all depends on what sorta $$ we are looking at for it all!!

interior isnt brilliant, but the cage makes up for that

roof lining is like new

dash is 90%

carpet is 80%

seats are a little worse for wear.

$1200 is pretty cheap for your car though Tom, it would cost more then that just to respray the whole car!! Have u advertised it a whole heap?????

havnt really advertised it as im not really happy about selling

its in the for sale section

respray cost me close to that

but i need the coin

oh well

put it like this

add freight of 600 odd

for less then 2k you have an immaculate rolling hr30 shell with new paint

chasis is straight as too.

JENESIS PARTS

Due to the conversion cost of our dollar to the yen and considering Japanese freight/postage is about the dearest about, I believe all the engineering parts can be made here cheaper than they can be sourced from Jenesis.

The 2 door roll bar, I had a quote last month for just under $400.00 for it made from Chrome-molly tube. The front & rear strut braces & floor brace could be made here cheaper. The semi rigid sway bar mounts I am making here out of ROSE joints, cheaper. The adjustable and stronger caster bars I have sourced locally, cheaper than from Jenesis.

They really haven't got anything new, that hasn't been done here before, get onto your local rally guys that have worked with daddo 1600's and a lot of these parts are interchangeable from them.

Don't be SUCKED in by URATHANE BUSHES, they all aren't the best. The pivot points should be left rubber and others like rear cross member bushes and Diff support, caster bar bushes can be urathane.

People like Pedders recommend urathane cause they buy them for $1.00 and sell them for $20, where as rubber might cost them $14/15 and they sell for $20.

Body parts ... Side steps, badges, 260K speedo etc, could be a good thing, particularly if they CAN NOT be sourced or made here.

I am trying to source all of the engineering parts here, before I think about paying for the Jenesis parts. Go out and ask your engineering shops, take the pics off the site and ask, you might be surprised what you find.

My coil over springs are made to Jenesis specs, but made locally by ALLSPRINGS at Liverpool NSW for $115.00 pair. Jenesis spec F & R sway bars I have had made here for under $300.00 each, complete with urathane bushes. It was Jenesis where I found the BNR32 GTR front brake conversion, and that can be done here cheaper than Jenesis parts only price.

Just have to get off your butt and go looking.

Teflon lined, s/s braided street legal brake lines for $99.00 pair, made to order.

are the RS badges on the front LH + RH guards just stuck on there?? or do they have little pins on the back which are fixed into the guards?? just wanting to know as one of mine is cracked, so I will take them off and replace them with GT badges off a R33. I did want to keep it original, but $70 each badge is a bit steep I think!

hm so would that floor brace thing work well or would a rear strut brace do the same thing? i have a front one but wouldnt mind rear too if i can get it made up over here for cheap.

engine damper would be cool though coz my engine wobbles a bit, would be nice to get a damper for it. if they could be had around $250 or less id probly be interested.

boj01,

The R/S badges have 2 vertical pins, primarily as locator pins as they are held on by the usuall black double sided tape, and I would be surprised if the R32 & 33 badges would cover.

Where you get $70.00 each for new badges?

Regarding the braces, I am putting in both. Making mine out of chrome-molly for strength & weight, but should be able to get them made from steel & powder coat cheap enough. Go and talk to your fabrication shops, sheet metal workers, light engineering etc.

And the damper! go talk to your local bike shop, motor bike shocks are available in a large range of lengths and compression/extension options. I found a Spax model that would do the job admirably, I think it comes off a 50 or similar for my RB.

Ok. A mate pointed out to me that my tail lights werent working last nite, so I checked all the fuses and found nothing (what a prick to check as I cant read Japanese and had to check all 20 of them). Checked the connections in the boot and a plug had disconnected itself so I connected it again and now the tail lights work, but not my brake lights! Any suggestions???

[Ghostrider] - I found that these are available through Hornsby Nissan a while back, do you think $70 is cheap or expensive??

If we can get a hook into Jenesis, there's are about $35.00 + frt/postage.

I would think $70.00 is a bit rich.

And I would wait a while to see if we can get something going with Option 1 Garages in Brisbane to get into Jenesis.

Re your brakes: Globes more than likely problem, but check brake light switch on pedal arm, but globes would be my choice. Get some quality ones, Phillips, Tungsram, or Narva PREMIUM, don't buy the shit at a garage.

Anyone know exactly what the 3 slat grilles are from?

Are they Jap only or would I be likely to find one in a wreckers here?

The 3 slat grille came in series 1, 81/82 Aussie Delivered POVERTY PACKS, sedans.

It was Ti sedans & hatchbacks that had the weave/milk crate/honeycombe effect between the slats.

And a 3 slat grille should be in some wrecking yards, but WHY???? would you want one, they look like sh!t. I got one here with TRUST on the middle slat, that must be worth a motsa eh!!! lol :(

does anyone have a 81/82 poverty pack r30 i mean the N/A version L24??

front strutbraces can be had from Whiteline, there is pleanty of places around that can make cages etc, a place in Hobart makes CAMS approved cages suitable for Targa Tas that can be removed and you wouldn't even notice it had a cage in it

    • For these last 7 years of ownership, I've always had to use a small scissor jack under one of the front tow hooks to raise the front just enough so my low-profile jack fits under to reach my subframe jack point. I'm beginning to get annoyed of always having to do this. Are there any lower low-profile jacks that fit under the gtr lip on a dropped car?
    • Seat of the pants assessment of the new intake: The car is way less "doughy" when hitting the loud pedal, especially off idle when stopped or in traffic, I did use a cheapo lazer thermal thingo to measure the temp around where the pod filter got its air, it was between 55 - 60°C, in saying this the car was shut off and not moving, so the OEM intake pipe was not supplying any fresh air to where the pod was when the car was at least moving A weird bonus was induction noise on the throttle in the cabin increased a bit,  I was worried that I was actually going to lose some of that induction noise I love so much, outside though, when I got the daughter to do a WOT drive by pass for me, the induction noise has increased alot when on the throttle, not quite ITB doort, but well up there I'm extremely happy with the results and have been exploring the country roads in the region  As for house mods: 1.New front fence is up and is awesome, it really upgraded how the joint looks from the street, and the added security is nice 2. Electricians have replace some interior lights, and with more lighting in the garage, a few new motion detecting lights out the front above the garage, front room, and at the front door, which I have already found heaps helpful coming and going, also now has fancy pants CCTV all round the house The only hold point for power though is the solar and batteries due to supply issues, although this will happen over the next few weeks 3. I have done a heap of landscaping out the front and I'm almost ready to do a new small retaining wall with some nice blocks to replace the brick and cemented in rocks around the raised garden beds cemented in river stone "was the fashion at the time" the house was built. I currently have a pallet of retaining wall blocks and 2 bulka bags of 20mm blue metal to replace the wood chip that is in the raised garden beds around the house 4. I now have 3 big raised garden beds for out the back to grow some vegetables, about 70cm high, 200cm long and 100cm wide 5. My 2 compost bins are already pretty full with brown, green and kitchen waste from the landscaping I'vedone so far, but they will probably take a few months to break down, so anything else that gets chopped, trimmed, and kitchen waste will just start filling the base of the raised garden beds to about 30cm before I start throwing 40cm of good compost, and stuff, for the vegetables to grow in, I'll need a few ton of compost and soil, but the local supplier can sent me bulka bags of the stuff Basically the logs, wood chips and a few strategically placed rocks for drainage, will give the beds some good organic materials down low to break down over time, and they will hold moisture during the warmer months to save the water in my big arse water tank if we don't get alot of rain So, all in all, the car and house mods are going well, and I'm really enjoying being retired, I sleep in too 0700 and slowly plod around inside until I feel like actually doing anything, and only work in the yard for as long as want, which has actually been alot over the last few weeks,  although when you look at it, it seems that not a huge amount of work has been done,  until I look at the before I started the work pics Happy days and good times indeed
    • hahaha yeah. Plan is to get side skirts and probably just rear pods. But going to do them one-by-one. I've got a set that I really like from RHDJapen, but that one isn't shipped to AU. So need to find someone who can get it for me
    • Here's an idea, answer the questions I asked you as they are trying to work out WHY the LSD will be binding up in a straight line.
