Guys

I am looking at upgrading in a cost effective manner, I have an RB25det in my A31 cefiro with stock inj, 7psi boost, stock internals,XO2 turbo extractor manifold, 38mm Tial waste gate, T25 turbo, AEM wideband, 36psi on fuel pressure on idle and a GReddy E-manage Ultimate management.(which has not been tune)

I am looking at upgrading the turbo on this vehicle but i do not know what to get?

I use the car for drifting and probably to work and nothing else... since you guys are very Knowledgeable in the RB world i know that i would get some great advice.

because where i live everyone has some advice: and it get me even more confused because these things are very new to me, because when my car needs something done i take it to the mechanic.

i was advised on the following:

Garrett T3/T4

GT28rs aka disco potato

HKS GT 2530

Hks GT 3240

GReddy Td06 25G

Holset HX20

Garrett GT35R

Airresearch T3/T4

now i have a GReddy td06 25g at home but the shaft is broken so i don't know if to keep it and repair it or dump it

let me know your views.

You probably need a Z32 AFM and injectors and some form of boost crontroller (there's a few options) to pull some decent power out of the engine (say above 200rwkw). Make sure your fuel pump is in good condition too.

You have listed a turbo like the HKS25/30 and Garrett GT35 you are talking about a very mild turbo to one that can make 380 rwkw, 500HP. What do you won’t to do with the car? Drift? Drag? Track? Or just street? Are you going to be fully building the motor and other parts? A good all round turbo for the RB25 is the Garrett GT3076r with .82 rear housing. But u need to explain what you what to do with the car and how much you wont to spend! As an Hks 25/30 set up will cost you a few thousand and a GT35 option could cost you a lot more

Does he not say in his 3rd paragraph he uses hes car for drifting and too drive to work!

I missed the bit where you said Drift and street, as many would agree you can’t go past the Garrett GT3076r for all round turbo they make great power 320rwkw plus and still have good response. For a stock motor you wouldn’t really wont to run much more than 17-18psi some have can and do but it might last for a month or year you just don’t know with a stock motor.

As i said i use the car for drifting and occasional to drive to work.

what i am trying to achieve is basically this,

raise the boost and tweek the emanage with the stock system ( internal + Inj) that would not cause damages to the engine.

i do not even know how much boost the rb25det can even handle with a stock system.

I was told that the T25 can only handle 12psi before shattering...

BTW: the car also has a MAP sensor which i do not know what this is for?

with what i have does anyone have an idea as to how much HP i can achieve?

i would like to know how much HP i can get with stock internals?

i would like to go for a 500HP at the wheels.

500hp at the rears, are you serious? For your street car ...

Have you been in a car with 'just' 300hp at the rears? Even something like that is a handful. Go with one of the smaller turbos suggested, If you are already using the car for drift purposes as it is, any one of those turbo's suggested is going to make your day a little more fun.

500hp it insane ... and the lag to go with

Sorry, not a hope in the world.

Stock injectors are limited to around 250rwkw (350rwhp).

There is no chance stock Inj you'll make much more than that, and certainly not 500hp.

500hp would require full rebuilds, and basically a change of most parts to achieve, big dollars/time/effort.

    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
