damn right

offtopic: station st thomastown has an officer doing breath tests. i was stopped in the skyline, was a nice guy, just gave me the test, looked at the front of the car, and thats it. said thankyou michael and i was on my way

but just a warning anyway

I missed what he said so you must tell me about it next time.

Shan, real sorry to hear it mate. Hope it works out ok though. Have plenty of pics of you with your pain. Sorry, just my journalistic duty. Post soon.

We should do this in another 2 - 4 weeks. Maybe make it a monthly.

Roy has got to be crazy to want my help with electronics  but I'll give it a hack. Let me know when. Maybe Sunday or are you doing the Winton thing? I have RWDTurbo barbie and photo shoot Sat afternoon. Friday I'm here all day and thurs have to go see my doc.

I'm in tomorrow at Creatd for dyno tune. Lets get this sucker going HARD.

Rest of sunday was a bummer, bringing furniture back from dandenong and being a one time heavy load and recovery specialist thought it was all well tied down. Got hit by a huge gust of wind on the eastern where some stupid curved over noise barrier is. Almost took the Lynx and trailer off the road and blew a tall chest of drawers clean out from under my ropes. Melted the nylon ropes and left burn marks along the top of the chest. It was sitting in the middle of the road and i ran back and ducked into the traffic and just grabbed it and ran back off the road with it. These things aren't light (took 2 mates to get it into the trailer) and after the adrenalin levels dropped realized the famous fu(ked back was returning with a vengeance. Ever seen a grown man cry at every bump and turn in the road? And you all know how far it is from Doncaster to Mill Park. Was more concerned with someone barrelling into it at 100 and having a major bingle. Oh well. Skit happens.

Worst part is my big leather comfy recliner that i wanted to bring home yesterday will have to wait until the weekend. Took me 4 years of manouvering and grovelling to get one

Guys

this sunday at 11am skylinesteve has organised a dyno run (well 3) for $35 at SelectMaz in Epping. Since it is only 5 min from the cafe I'm going over for breakfast and then on to the dyno runs. The dyno is RWD only.

Anyone interested? Feel free to join me.

  • 7 months later...

Just cranking this up again, hopefully it will mail the new post but the forums been a bit funny about that lately so I'll PM a few people.

Funky is going to join me for breakfast in Mill Park Lakes at the Lakes Cafe Sunday morning. I think between 9.30 and 10.00 is a good time to start.

So if anyones interested please post back so we know what size table to grab...and I can tell you all how my engine died (again) after a twin turbo upgrade.

    • The issue now is the 'fuel cut' while driving, and when it happend, it does not stall. This, I did not test the fuel pressure while driving as I cannot with a fuel pressure gauge. I do have Nistune logs, yes. I have also replaced the MAF Sensor.   Also related to the FPG Fuel Hanger – I just realized that I need a Deutsch Crimp Tool to crimp some cables for the FPG Fuel Hanger. Need to purchase additional cables as the kit only included 2, which are for the float. FPG has not responded to my emails so far since purchasing. I thought about taking it to someone and having it done professionally, but I am reluctant since everyone I took it to messed up in some way.
    • There's a good German place in Brisbane if youre up for the drive 😛
    • The German place in Cabramatta was rock solid, fresh pretzel cooked to order back then. Then it went all quiet, after all the poker machines were removed, then I believe it closed for good. I did drive past the other week and noticed outdoor lighting a big screen, but no idea what is there now.
    • Yeah I suspect even if you hold airmass per cycle/cylinder constant if you get too far away from stock you're still going to have problems running the factory tune within the bounds of the factory load scale. Cams, different displacement/rod ratio, etc. I'm just lucky that the GTIII-SS with wastegate boost + CA compliance cats is pretty much equivalent to stock turbos. When I have actual space I can finally get it tuned and modify the fuel system for flex fuel to 100% handle any detonation concerns when cranking the boost to whatever those dinky turbos can put out.
    • I would say no, why, because my daughter, who also lives in Goulburn, hasn't recommended us going there Pity, as we miss all the German joints around in Sydney, actually, the restaurants are the only thing I really miss about Sydney, and a special mention to Ishibanboshi at Bondi Junction, their Kara-age Don is heart cloggingly deliciousness (always added a special boiled egg...or 2) 😋
