why would u bother slapping such a small turbo on a 25/30 build.

at least go gt30. ~300kw and full boost by 3000 which is amazing response.

Haha he actually means a 2530 turbocharger, not 3 litre with 25 head lol.

I wouldnt pissfart around with a 2860 with adaptors then maybe different lines (im not sure about the lines) Im pretty sure the dump pattern is different too. The adaptors are around $200 anyway, and would look shit. Theres 1100 already, plus custom dump, blah blah....

GO highflow. Looks stock, fits stock, least stuffing around, will make the power your are chasing. Theyre around $1300-1400 mark?

Thanks for all the opinions!

I have been doing some homework since starting this thread and i now see how dumb it is to stuff around with T2 turbo etc etc etc.

i have since purchased a VG30DET single turbo (4V54) with the OP6 turbine housing which i intend to get highflowed to 450hp through Hypergear with the ATR28G3 CHRA as its the most bang for buck optiong i've come accross.

if you only want 220-230rwkw... i had a hypergear, that's been changed for another hypergear. G2 profile, 71 compressor wheel. It's was a special one-off that Stao made, it was mid 220'srwkw (with some other car issues) with stock turbo response. I reckon those specs in an OP6 rear will be exactly what you're after.

I've just switched to a G3, 76 compressor wheel with the OP6 rear housing, and i'm not expecting stock response at all, but hoping for 260'ish.

The first hypergear i had sounds like what you're after, but i think the G3/76 might be a bit big for what you want.

Yea i understand what your saying but i want the headroom for future mods such as injectors, AFM, ECU etc.

how you planning on tuning it at the moment?

i see where you're coming from, but i don't see the need to go so big when you only want 200-230rwkw. Why not get that figure in the most responsive way?

The coolest and quickest street car i have even been in was an R33 with Greddy inlet, baby 256 cams and a HKS 2530. The thing made boost and took off anywhere when you simply looked at the accelerator pedal. It was mighty torquey and punchy. It ran 18psi and made 230rwkws, though it drop back to 15psi up high in the rev range. There is no way i would say the turbo is too small. It hammered along very nicely

haha yea i forgot that i said i was only chasing that power figure.

But now i plan to have it tuned with the factory turbo after i get my new interdooler and boost controller which are on their way. From what i've seen i should make 180ish rwkw on a sensible tune.

Then I'm gonna save the cash to do the highflow, ECU, AFM, injectors, splitfire coilpacks all in one hit and aim for 240-250 rwkw

What exactly do you mean by baby cams? do you know what they were exactly?

Pretty much exactly how i want my street R33 to be like instant, torquey response

what are you getting tuned if you are running a factory ecu?

    • Yeah i found that alot of parts can be wrong or "very" hard to get the real right one. I already bought some brakes years ago on me "old" GT calipers and they were wrong too 😄  I told them too. Even send them pictures...but they said "EBC catalogue has them on my car... So i dont know what their answer will be. I call monday them and let them know that they are really not on my car. If they were they would be already on a car...
    • Welcome to Skyline ownership. Yes, it is entirely possible parts websites get things wrong. There's a whole world of inaccuracies out there when it comes to R34 stuff (and probably 33 and 32). Lots of things that are 'just bolt on, entirely interchangable' aren't. Even between S1 and S2 R34's. Yes they have a GTT item supposedly being 296mm. This is incorrect. I would call whoever you got them from and return them and let them know the GTT actually uses 310mm rotors. Depending on where you got them from your experience and success will obviously vary.
    • Hi...a bit a "development" on the brakes. I spoke to the guys where i get brakes from...and they are saying that 296mm EBC are for R34 GT-T. I then went to their site: https://www.ebcbrakes.com/vehicle/uk-row/NISSAN/Skyline (R34)/ and search for my car(R34 GT 1998 - it has GTT brakes) and it show me this USR1229 number and they are rly 296mm rotors... So now iam rly confused... The rotors i have now on the car are 310mm asi shown... So where is the problem? Does the whole EBC got it wrong or my calipers are just...idk know what?
    • Oh What the hell, I used to get a "are you sure you want to reply, this thread is XX months old" message. Maybe a software update remove that. My bad.
    • This is a recipe for disaster* Note: Disaster is relative. The thing that often gets lost in threads like this is what is considered acceptable poke and compromise between what one person considers 'good' looks and what someone else does. The quoted specs would sit absurdly outside the guards with the spacers mentioned and need  REALLY thin tyres and a LOT of camber AND rolling the guards to fit. Some people love this. Some people consider this a ruined car. One thing is for certain though, rolling the guards is pretty much mandatory for any 'good' fitment (of either variety). It is often the difference between any fitment remotely close to the guards. "Not to mention the rears were like a mm from hitting the coilovers." I have a question though - This spec is VERY close to what I was planning to buy relative to the inboard suspension - I have an offset measuring tool on the way to confirm it. When you say "like a mm" do you mean literally 1mm? Or 2mm? Cause that's enough clearance for me in the rear :p I actually found the more limiting factor ISNT the coilover but the actual suspension arms. Did you take a look at how close those were?
