Well I like the Xtrail better than the forrester but i could live with the Liberty.

If i were u id go the xtrail, it has a similar 4WD system as the GTR except it is a lower version of it. It is bigger than the forrester.

The forrester is more powerful that the Xtrail obviosly because its turbo charged. It makes around 155KW and somewhere around 300NM of torque.

The Xtrail's 16 valve 4 cylinder 2.5ltr DOHC makes more torque "245 NM" than an NA rb25 and makes 132 KWs which really isnt much less than the forrester. What would this thing be like turbo charged????. The xtrail TI comes with all the luxury & Safety features. Crash test result = 4 out of 5. The ABS system can apply and release the brakes up to 20 times per second.

Leather is optional but " KIDS + Leather = Pain in the ass to keep clean." The Xtrail TI man goes for $35,990 and the auto is $37,990.I dont know how that compares to the forrester.

Well my post was leaning to the xtrail alot but im a NISSAN fan so..

I found some links that might help :

This one is a review of the Forrester, Xtrail , Honda CR-V and the Toyota Rav4 Cruiser. The Xtrail did very well. Its the article called " SWISH ALPS - DRIVE'S SOFT-ROADER COMPARISON"

xtrail,forrester,rav4,cr-v

I love the XTRAIL

Skyline_Boy

B-Man, i would LOVE a gloria!!!

well call me :D

seriously I know the cefiro's are old but the insurance is very cheap 60% of the r 32's premium.

you really do need a 4 door car with a family thats why I'm selling my sr 32. my brother in law got an x trail very nice but could you live with the lack of power .

my wife drives the r32 fine and the cefiro.

Once they get used to it they wont go to a stock car again :D

also consider the prado and pajero

or a merc yes I'm serious e or c class

cheers

yea the power is low in the x trail.

You could get yourself a nice r31 skyline GTS2

But what did u want in the car and what is your price range?? Power, Space, Economy??

The falcons are good cars, their engines can go millions of Kms " i think thats why theyre used as taxis.

ok - just to clear it up - IM NOT BUYING A FALCON!!!!

EVER! :P

Skyline_Boy - price range? hmm... up to 50ish i guess, i hadn't really thought about it.

I really liked the XTrail, i'd be getting leather tho, even with kids. :P But the damn Liberty GT is SO sexy!! my goodness!

Altho, I might be bringing Bec around on the idea of a Stagea 260RS! Which would be a perfect compromise for us!

oh and shell, Bec hates fords! :)

A4 Turbo quattro wagon would be the go if you can't persuade Bec to go for the Stagea.

Problem is, finding a Turbo quattro wagon - I'm sure they are around, but if they are then the owners sure as hell aren't willing to sell them... I'd buy one too if I could find one!

Must admit, I'd equally go a new Liberty GT wagon, but they won't be coming over in a manual for quite a few months yet, so you may have to wait unless you'd be happy with an auto (and also depending on when you're planning to get married and/or get rid of the GT-R).

Congrats, too, BTW.

    • Absolute f*cking nightmare. I had to take breaks constantly, and I was always pissed off when I got home. The line split in Italy on day 2 (we drove from the Netherlands), lol. Driving any narrow European town was... well, sh*t.   Appreciate it man. Here, I'll just drop a favourite from the load I took on Saturday.   I'll update here when things happen with the car, the thing is, with stock power and almost everything chassis-wise taken care of, there really are no problems. 268,000kms now and counting.
    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
