RB30 can be done with stock bits for 3k. - PM sent.

---

a garrett gt30/40 with .82 external gate exhausting housing, cubes uses the same turb on his rb25/30 i think but is interl gate

No Cubes :( uses the 6bladed .6 port shrouded GT3076 .82 IW.

The GT3040's are good but they are a tad lazy. The power delivery feels like it lags a bit then comes on with a rush. The 76 however is linear and much more tractable.

The larger 82mm compressor paired with the GT30 .82 rear doesn't offer any more power compared to the GT3076 unless your running better than 98ron pump fuel. The hot side becomes a restriction. :)

Or.. GT3040 with the 1.06 rear can push close to 340-350rwkw on pump fuel with cams etc. BUT with the additional lag you may as well drop on the GT35r .82 and push just that little bit more. Where does it end.

Back in the day when the GT3076 was a 7blade (not current 6blade) the GT3040 was definitely the way to go. Hell even the Gt3071 was a better option than the GT3076 7blade variant.

pm replied, thanks heaps!

seriously though, unless you have access to internal & external micrometers, plasti-gauge, torque wrenches, etc or understand the importance of sequences, preparation for initial fire up and absolute cleanliness.......don't even think about assembling your own motor.

I do have a variety of tools on my disposal and as mentioned before have helped with rebuilds so i know what is required, its gonna be harder doing it myeslf i know, but we all gotta start somewhere. As far as machining and balancing etc. is concerned, that is the only part where i will have to pay a professional as I wouldn't want to attempt it myself.

After all the reason for starting this thread is seeing who here has done it so in case i do get stuck i have a bit of reference and first hand experience to help me through it. And it helps others who are thinking of going down the same path and i know there are a few on here.

I hope not :P

Now its a waiting game till someone comes round and buys my bike so i can fund this.

Pricing up forged rods and pistons I've found cheapest prices to be around $1200 + piston rings. Not sure on brand of rods (from US) but acl pistons...

Acl race bearings rod and main just under $200

Sucks its a long weekend so cant ring up anyone else but that's what i got so far. Decent prices?

in the latest fats fours and roataries mag there is a rb25/30 build up feature part1

No need for forged pistons and rods if your only aiming for 250kw to 300kw

agree on the rods.......disagree on the pistons

detonation even at 200kw can kill stock ring lands.......then again, severe detonation can kill forgies as well

all this talk on here now makes me wanna rebuild my dud 25 with a 25/30 setup....the bottom end is gone so should be able to slap on a 30 bottom and as long as other things are fine should be a decent setup.....but i believe that there is more to that than it being as easy as 123

http://www.ripsltd.com/index2.html

RB30 Stock internal bottom ends start at NZD$4,000 rwd or $5,000 4wd (suit up to 600hp and 7200 rpm)

$4000nzd = 3,243.59 AUD and shipping fron NZ is about 400-450

EDIT

bottom of first post has a download

3rd post 1st link :(

Yeah it is possible to achieve 600hp with a stock bottom end but id rather do it safely and reliably, do it once and do it right. If there is a slight balance issue when pushing those figures, I'm certain a forged bottom end would be able to compensate much better.

As far as forged rods are concerned, I've contacted this guy over e-mail and he told me he sells em on ebay. Here is a link for those who are interested... http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...em=400023741957

Not a bad deal bit I've never heard of that brand, claims that they're good for 1000hp at 10,000rpm with upgraded rod bolts.

do it :P its not that easy, but have a good read through the links Steve put up.. pretty much everything you need to know is covered.

600hp is ~450kw, but i guess its better to be safe than sorry. If you get a reputable workshop to do the balancing, i dare say there wouldn't be any balance issues?

450kw at the engine... take around 18% power loss through drivetrain and you're at roughly 370kw at the wheels which is still fairly safe for my application in theory. As mentioned rb30's tend to have a balance issues so that's another thing where money is gonna be an issue.

I'll be going a ATI Harmonic balancer. Apparently good for 1000hp

Do you know how much these usually retail at? Ive had a look on their website but no pricing for import motors.

Have a look at this thread and Pm the organiser. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Ac...html&hl=ati

He was saying on the last page he has a local supplier to get them from now, but never again at the prices in the thread. Also note u may need to remove your A/C.

I'm currently getting 044 fuel pumps off him with no drama's so far.

    • I can ship Nismo floor mats to you: https://www.oemsoko.co.jp/products/nismo-floor-mats-for-skyline-r33-bcnr33-stagea-wgnc34?_pos=1&_sid=9278c1467&_ss=r
    • Here's the link: https://www.amayama.com/en/genuine-catalogs/epc/nissan-japan/stagea/wgnc34/6642/misc/G49?frame_no=WGNC34-137122 What you think about it? The same product i found on nengun: https://www.nengun.com/oem/parts/40567/MiPwn5qAMfCfmpxHNDnwn5q9MDAx8J-QiW9sZC1qcC0xMTAtRzQ5LS0wMDE/Floor+Carpet+%2F+Mat+2/0688339eba149c19 Bot i have spoken to 😅 ensured me, that mats are 100% original, oem product. I have my doubts. I also heard what you mentioned, that nengun often offers items that are actual not available... On the other hand mats i found on japanese yahoo or ebay are in poor condition and still quite expensive so i'd rather wait for some better offers. My location - Poland. We literaly don't have ANY market for used Stagea parts so need to search outside Europe.
    • You can’t see much on the other side as the lcd is there I don’t think it’s the same as the m33 beside it as the markings on top is not the same was hoping someone had a good quality photo or if they just happened to have the unit in hand, quickly take the cover off and take a photo to clearly show the marking on top to identify the diode   the unit is currently with an electronics repair shop so I can’t take another photo at the moment hopefully they are smart enough to know if it’s a zener diode or not
    • I'd be very surprised if you can buy new OEM mats. But if you can, I want some too!  Do you have links to the variations you found? Also, where are you located? I found that Nengun is happy to list items to purchase but when you do buy them you'll get an email that it's actually discontinued. As far as I know the variations in floor mats are different colour schemes as well as automatic and manual having a slightly different shape. The automatic ones fit into a manual car without issues, but I think you'd have trouble fitting the other way around. I have photos that show the shape difference if you care. FWIW I bought sets of used floor mats in decent condition at yahoo auctions.
    • Hi 🙋‍♂️. Just bought my Unicorn but the interior need some minor work so it would match my expectations ;). I noticed it is hard to get used oem floor mats in good condition so i started to dig if there's any chance to buy set of new ones. I found two websites - nengun and amayama and it looks like one can still buy factory new floor mats in Japan, but thers a small issue. Some mats (i assume genuine, oem ones) are marked as G4900 and these are "discontinued". The ones you can buy are marked as G4911 but i have no idea if these are also oem, made by other producer or some lower quality replacements that looks entirely different. Can anyone help? 😃  P.s. there is also some strange indication - 0V005, 0V015 and 0V505. Any idea what does it mean? Would appreciate any help with this 🙏
