will do. I have one to do in a couple of weeks (not on this forum.) and from there I'll have a lot more info on what can/can't be done.

looking for a ipod solution now for it.

Found another ADM Guinea pig Chris? Did you get the diagrams from the GC or Bris dealer in the end? or other source?

I am keen for the rear parking and ipod solutions, also a better upload solution to the music box hard drive. heck I want sat nav too.

let me know how you go.

yep! he rang me tonight. appears he's on here as well - though I have no idea who. (keep quiet if you do happen to be reading this.)

short of a radio swap the CF idea is probably a no go. I'll know more in a week once I strip this car within an inch of it's life. (I didnt do this with yours due to time.)

I found this on another forum. Are the ADM cars set up like this?

Non-Sat NAV has GPS!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ok, so i was tinkering with the MFD system.

Found out that you can enter a hidden menu by doing the following:

1. Ensure the audio is off.

2. hold down settings.

3. turn the volume knob for 20 clicks (or more)

You can then browse the diagnostic menu.

You can also enter a further "detailed" diagnostic menu by repeating the procedure above.

If you browse the detailed diagnostic menus, you will find "Navigation"-> "Sensor information"

If you select this option, you can see that GPS is indeed installed and functioning on the car!

That means that someone should be able to figure out a software upgrade to install fully integrated sat nav on the "non sat nav" cars!

If this turns out to be true, the non-sat nav cars are an absolute bargain!

I can't understand why Nissan would release a car with all the sat nav hardware installed but not provide software to utilise it!

I'm getting brave this weekend and will be pulling the entire system out to get the harddrive image for analysis.

I'm also guessing that if the bluetooth hardware supports A2DP, then we should be able to integrate the software from the US models.

I wouldn't . the car gets a lil bit touchy if you start fiddling with it and pulling things out. been there already 2 days back for 12 hrs..

put simply prepare to take the car to the dealer to reset anything that the car deems fit to disable and set lights on. its NOT a car to pull down on a whim.

".....we have now received a direct response from NML on this subject and can confirm that a rear view camera is an accessory for the Japan market, as they have a built in TV tuner function in their display unit (which is necessary for the function of a camera).

They have committed to study this accessory for other markets but it is unlikely be within the 2009 time frame.

Obviously we’ll work hard to explore any accessory opportunities that arise of this nature and will make all NHPC’s aware of any developments here...."

PFFT!

they haven't got a clue is what they are saying or about the car they are selling here. btw what we were discussing over the phone is almost ready. give me a call during the week.

why would you need a TV tuner for a reverse camera??

bloody modern technology and making it difficult for us to fix/add what the cars should have...

Yeah annoying they should of wired the Aussie ones up like they did on the JDM's.

Anyone know where I can get someone in QLD to source & fit an Offical Nissan JDM Rear camera? Not interested in other aftermarket mass up's that work on ADM's, I'd prefur an offical JDM Nissan camera for plug and play for my JDM 08 R35.

yes . me.though they are about $1500 AUD currently. been keeping rough tabs on cost of them. whats wrong with the one I did out of curiosity?

ok cool. PM me your contact details i'll be in touch soon. Where is your pictures of the one you installed? i didn't see that.

I just liked the idea of the smallest camera inprint and direct wiring with the JDM cockpit screen. most importantly how tiny the camera is, is whats important to me.

    • Put a fuel pressure gauge on it. Replace the turbos. Probably completely separate issues.
    • What copper washer do you guys use on the bleeder bolts? The existing one I have I had no idea where to find it in a local store, I did buy some online but that are only 1mm thick whereas my old one is 2mm+ thick and when I put the new washer out and squeeze the top radiator hose I can hear a bit of air but not with the old one. Does this matter? The new one doesn't leak, but the inner diameter is a bit loose whereas the old one threads on the bolt.
    • Howdy all, after being out a few weeks ago on a spirited drive in my GTR I have 2 issues that oddly have appeared at the same time. Whilst accelerating quickly through the gears all of a sudden i’ve lost power at the top of third gear (below redline around 6000rpm) for no obvious reason.    From that point onwards the car has been running rich on idle, won’t really rev under load without a ton of black smoke and the odd backfire, and dying as a pull up to a set of lights unless I keep the revs up around 1500rpm. In addition when shutting down the car that same night (I was 10 minutes from home) I noticed one of the turbos was significantly noisy on wind down when shutting off the engine. After letting the car cool down overnight it starts up fine, although once it gets to temp the revs start to creep up and down, the exhaust is darker than it should be and it also sounds like it’s running rich (fat note) I’ve put a new set of plugs in it - no change, the old plugs all seemed OK with two of them being somewhat richer/fueled up than the other 3 with 1 being borderline. I’ve smoked tested the intake system via the front of the Turbos, found a split vacuum hose going to the factory boost gauge sender, which I have since replaced.  Also found another leak on the gasket coming off the rear turbo outlet, have also replaced this. After fixing both of these leaks - still have the running rich issue. I’ve also tried another pair of AFM’s - no change here After pulling off the front turbo intake pipes, there is obvious shaft play in the front turbo, which now hisses loudly on light revvs although I can’t see why this would make the car run funny even under idle. I’m curious to know why it’s running rich before I potentially replace/rebuild turbos. The car is completely stock <50,000kms  other than an exhaust. Oil and coolant are all clear. I haven’t bothered with coil packs as it looks like they won’t be the issue due to condition of the plugs. Any help appreciated as I cry myself to sleep!
    • No probs at all. I used to love trying to dig up obscure info for those in need where possible going back 20+ years on SAU.  I did have another look and couldn't come up with any closer match. I'm leaning towards those skirts in your first pic are custom fitments, cut down/extended or from another car entirely and modded to fit an R34 sedan. I would've thought someone in Japan had them and taken a photo at some stage over the last 2 decades but there's nothing. Someone out there must know surely.
