Okay, I have two Stageas ... one totally stock, and one with a few mods. Neither will sell.

Are people after a fully sick modded, massive turbo stagea? I don't believe its the fact they're both auto ... there are plenty of auto Stags being sold around Australia. All I get are time wasters.

Am I better off parting them out? Reckon they're worth more parted.

silver one is priced right, the black one might be a bit high?

market is shit right now, if you are able too, you might be best holdiing them for a while, but then again, they will just depreciate more.

keep the back one, sell the silver one for 9-10k, sell a bike or two

:worship:

wagons are good for space (you seem to do a fair bit in life rueben) and eventually hopefully a buba`kiddling comes along :)

S2 Stags are still fetching up to $19K from what I've seen with over 90,000kms on them. Mine has 58,000kms and a few tasty mods. Its a bargain. I'm not keen on selling ... so I'll just keep it and keep entering it into car shows, until a serious buyer comes along.

Close to just parting the silver Stagea. I've been screwed around over a dozen times so far. Brendan, the silver stag is already down to 10K ... new water pump, timing belt, O2 sensor and service to engine and box. I've already made a loss on it. Any less and I'm giving it away ... hence thinking about parting it.

Parting it will take alot of time and effort and you WILL be left over with a heap of bits and pieces...

As for the back stag id hold onto it mate. Its not going to sell for 17 unless your willing to sit on it for a while. Im sure its worth more than 17 to you.

Adam was very lucky with with silver s2. Returned it all to stock and sold all parts within two weeks

sell all your motor bikes and other cars and keep the black one?

Don't make me come over there and whoop you! :)

btw My bikes (individually) are worth more than the S1 Stag ... one bike is worth more than the S2 Stag :worship:

I bought my first Stagea On the week-end. I looked at a heap of C34s, most were overpriced, shit or had fudged speedo readings. I actually contacted you regarding yours, which is very tidy but wife wanted leather. at the end of the day i went with a M35. They are well priced. Can get them starting at 15K now, which is probably your biggest issue. I bought a 8/03 AR-X with 32000ks

for 20K with a years rego, and its clean. Figured if i was going to pay 17, why not pay a little more and get the newer model.

if anything i'd say the black one was priced too high. the s1 is priced well, however

stagea owners aren't like s13 owners too, a matt black front bar is not helping you sell it unfortunately

mise is same as your silver, but sunrooves, 100k service done, full suspension to SK specs, TBE, FMIC, good pads, shiftkit for the auto, alarm etc, doubt i will get over 10-14, importing is expensive but there are heaps of cheap stockers locally... luckily i dont owe anything on mine

rubs if your going to sell them id sugest taking it back to stock. its a bit of a head f**k getting it all sorted but atleast then u can out the... no mods, never boosted or thrashed bullshit in your add lol. i had about 5 people look at mine... the last 2 wanting it. mine was silver s2, sunroofs, swaude interioure, nothing flash... good nick... 13500 i think it was... urs being black may grab u a few more $ but honestly its not worth selling for less than 16 or 17... its a hard market and there are going to be dickheads. i had mine on carsales, whole car section in sau... i wouldnt bother with trading post to be honest... do u HAVE to let it go? or could u hold on to the black one :P its sooo nice

I agree with the post before about the M35 prices. I looked at the older stags but it's only a couple grand more and you get newer body shape and some extra features. It's abuyers market which means there's buyers out there (like me :P) but I did feel like I had the upper hand while looking. Patience may help too. It took me 9 months of ad's on carsales and the paper to sell my renault!

Please dont take this as anything other than a buyer's opinion....not trying to lower the price of your specific cars at all...

I was looking for another stagea last year (3-4 months after I sold my s2 for ~$13000 - it had been on the market for ~2-3 months with little interest).

My personal opinion was that I wouldn't pay over $10K nowadays for a series 1, and a series 2 I was prepared to pay $12-13K for a good one (standard) or maybe $14K for a really good one. I preferred one that was stock or only had minor mods (exhaust, boost controller etc). The price I was prepared to pay was influenced by kms and condition but also by what price/kms I could get a similar model in Japan for.

At the same time I was dealing with a family friend who has an import license and had imported several M35's already and he was looking up C34's for me and then one day he suggested why not look at the M35's, since at the time they were pretty cheap - only a few thousand more than the C34's.

I ended up getting my M35 for just over 550,000yen (plus broker fee for the agent in japan), so if you do the maths, according to the market last august (right before the dollar crashed - it was buying 94USc at the time), thats an M35 250T RS4 landed & complied for under $17K.

Standard M35's are still selling here for around $20K, often slightly less, so I guess the question is, how much is someone willing to pay for a (modified) s2 compared to a newer M35 for maybe only a few thousand more and (possibly) with less kms?

I suspect the buyer you are looking for is the one that wants a fast, sporty wagon, with all the mods already done...but unfortunately mods dont add much to the price/value of a car. They do add some value...but in the end its whatever the buyer is prepared to pay.

I say none of this to spite you or anything like that. I've sold a stagea before ($11K less than what i bought it for 2 yrs earlier) so I know a little of what you're going through. People dont want to pay you what its worth, they want a bargain. :)

You'll get your price eventually, but patience is the key. I'm not very patient when it comes to selling cars - hence why I chose to lower the price in order to get a quicker sale.

Hope you get them sold eventually...or otherwise maybe you'll decide to keep one? either way, once a stagea owner, always a stagea owner - you'll be back ;)

    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
    • You have a knack for photography my friend. It makes the 86 look like a complete bucket. The 34 went with you to Europe and back. It's special. (we all feel the same about our 'shitboxes' that every bystander seems to absolutely love)
    • It's been quite the ordeal but hey, at least you figured it out.
    • The final part arrived today to un-clampify and simplify the intake Who would have though a 1/2" hose stainless bulkhead fitting designed for below waterline bilge pumps would be what I needed Test fit on a 3" offcut I had laying around to see if it would work, and it worked a treat All going well the intake will be on its "final version" tomorrow
