as well as a base map for the hks on the nm35

if you can, mind extracting that base map for me when you get it? i'll find the software needed for you when i get home.

also let me know what version your fcon vpro is also.

you in sydney?

well the f con v pro will either be 3.24 or i can ask for the new v3.3

as soichi has those in stock

it was just a problem with splicing into the ecus into the nm35 , but awsome they got a harnes for it off the shelf , just hard to find

also said was that now he has the info from hks japan he can get the harness that they used from the skyline that they rewired to suit the nm35 and do the same if needs be

and ye once i get the install and some tuning going i could share some info

with software i am geting the whole job done through soichi so ecu harness install

Dust, you can also hook up the Fcon iS which is like a more powerful eManage Ultimate.

NM35 harness is easy to get and HKS still have plenty in stock.

Can you PM me a price for the V-Pro?

Have been looking for one for a while now, but no second hand units available for a reasonable price

My mate just bought an iS for his V35, so will be testing it on my car when I get the harness.

with the nm35 harness no they have no more in stock as it is a discontinued item so the only stock they have is what has already been sent out to dealers

( coming from hks japan )

unless you or i have been told differnet ? where did you get info on them stil being in stock

yup that was an option discussed to use a fcon IS which he said was like a comparitive to the emanage ultimate

yet with the v pro i can have alot more options i can ask him what price he can do me for for a fcon v pro if i get a few more buyers for him , depends you want the new version , got like a red face to it and has alot more options and new functions or the previosue version black and gold

i will let you guys know now that i have decided to go ahead with this , ill also get some pics info while being worked on and tuned

I had RHD Japan list the harness and also asked Jesse Streeter a little while ago about them.

I only hear last year that they were a discontinued item, but RHD & Jesse both buy them directly from HKS.

iS is superior to the eManage Ultimate as it can handle the variable valve timing without an add-on unit.

Also has a video out to display 6 options from a number of readouts (oil pressure, boost, temps etc) - perfect for those with an OEM popup screen... like me :)

Would be looking at either a 3.24 or 3.3 only, nothing earlier than that for the V-Pro.

and here one is full package fcon pro ecu for the nm35 plug and play :worship:

http://translate.goo...Fpid%3D22135321

according to this site when exchange to nz dollars will be about $3000

exchange to your rate 187,300.00 JPY =2,138.35 AUD

ye with the video out you can run a CAMP 2 or software like magden as seen of fast furiouse to display all data on your incar tv

iS would be awesome for our cars then instead of getting a seperate V-manage for Cams

wel like i said the harness is actually hard to find as hks have no more , just the ones that are unsold from retailers that have them .

any way soichi said if he cant find one which he already has he can make them easily from the specs hks sent him with a off the shelf skyline harness so i could always ask him to make some up if they were in need

then you can use the is or f con v pro

I think you are confusing the output for the iS and V-Pro units.

iS video out is in fact a yellow "video" output... same as the old yellow/white/red connections into your tv.

V-Pro needs the communication cable into CAMP2 to display on screens... although you can use this in the iS also if the CAMP2 displays are your thing ;)

Damn straight.

So if Cihan and Scott's theory that the throttle restriction is controlled via the cam timing, maybe the iS can overcome this.

Am sure the V-pro will.

good to know with the video out

but ye with the f con pro you have no choice but to use camp 2 if you want to veiw data etc

has dated graphics tho

i would actauly like to use the greddy iformeter touch on my fcon :whistling:

its a nice little unit or magden which can run off any ecu and be calibrated to a touch screen

Damn, 2k? that's an emanage + v manage + harness + complete tune with change left over...

Still, if it can get rid of the throttle crap then I guess its worth it....

the price i posted up there was the exchange rate for the gear that is being sold from a japanes shop so that 2 k would just be for the gear not the install and tune

but what it is, is a unit that can do more then a emanage + v manage including harness

you would also still look at the options of getting a/f , wide band sensors etc ontop of all that

let’s just say for the ecu harness extra a/f gauge and sensor evc gauge camp 2 install and tune ye I won’t say how much I was quoted its horrible but it’s about 4500

For $3,000 the PS2000(and you'd have $ left over) would be the better option.......open's up a way bigger spectrum of add on's and can do's....and there's tuner's around!

For $4,500....digital dash and loads more!!!!!!

Just because there's a harness for the HKS doesn't make it the holy grail just means like Nismo they thought that there was going to be a big market like there was with the 260 RS!.....and if I remember correctly OZ is punching bigger numbers than Japan with the E-manage ultimate with a VQ25det!

F#$k I did my Nismo, E-Manage and tune for $1,900.

Why is the HKS F-Con pro so much better than a E-manage + V-manage or a PS2000?

    • Hey Dave, welcome aboard! Good to see another soon-to-be Stagea owner here. The wagons are awesome — plenty of space, still got that Skyline DNA, and loads of potential if you’re into mods. Definitely post up pics when you get it, everyone here loves seeing new builds. What model/year are you looking at?
    • See if you can thermal epoxy a heatsink or two onto it?
    • The other problem was one of those "oh shit we are going to die moments". Basically the high spec Q50s have a full electric steering rack, and the povo ones had a regular hydraulic rack with an electric pump.  So couple of laps into session 5 as I came into turn 2 (big run off now, happily), the dash turned into a christmas tree and the steering became super heavy and I went well off. I assumed it was a tyre failure so limped to the pits, but everything was OK. But....the master warning light was still on so I checked the DTCs and saw – C13E6 “Heat Protection”. Yes, that bloody steering rack computer sitting where the oil cooler should be has its own sensors and error logic, and decided I was using the steering wheel too much. I really appreciated the helpful information in the manual (my bold) POSSIBLE CAUSE • Continuing the overloading steering (Sports driving in the circuit etc,) “DATA MONITOR” >> “C/M TEMPERATURE”. The rise of steering force motor internal temperature caused the protection function to operate. This is not a system malfunction. INSPECTION END So, basically the electric motor in the steering rack got to 150c, and it decided to shut down without warning for my safety. Didn't feel safe. Short term I'll see if I can duct some air to that motor (the engine bay is sealed pretty tight). Long term, depending on how often this happens, I'll look into swapping the povo spec electric/hydraulic rack in. While the rack should be fine the power supply to the pump will be a pain and might be best to deal with it when I add a PDM.
    • And finally, 2 problems I really need to sort.  Firstly as Matt said the auto trans is not happy as it gets hot - I couldn't log the temps but the gauge showed 90o. On the first day I took it out back in Feb, because the coolant was getting hot I never got to any auto trans issues; but on this day by late session 3 and then really clearly in 4 and 5 as it got hotter it just would not shift up. You can hear the issue really clearly at 12:55 and 16:20 on the vid. So the good news is, literally this week Ecutek finally released tuning for the jatco 7 speed. I'll have a chat to Racebox and see what they can do electrically to keep it cooler and to get the gears, if anything. That will likely take some R&D and can only really happen on track as it never gets even warm with road use. I've also picked up some eye wateringly expensive Redline D6 ATF to try, it had the highest viscosity I could find at 100o so we will see if that helps (just waiting for some oil pan gaskets so I can change it properly). If neither of those work I need to remove the coolant/trans interwarmer and the radiator cooler and go to an external cooler....somewhere.....(goodbye washer reservoir?), and if that fails give up on this mad idea and wait for Nissan to release the manual 400R
    • So, what else.... Power. I don't know what it is making because I haven't done a post tune dyno run yet; I will when I get a chance. It was 240rwkw dead stock. Conclusion from the day....it does not need a single kw more until I sort some other stuff. It comes on so hard that I could hear the twin N1 turbos on the R32 crying, and I just can't use what it has around a tight track with the current setup. Brakes. They are perfect. Hit them hard all day and they never felt like having an issue; you can see in the video we were making ground on much lighter cars on better tyres under brakes. They are standard (red sport) calipers, standard size discs in DBA5000 2 piece, Winmax pads and Motul RBF600 fluid, all from Matty at Racebrakes Sydney. Keeping in mind the car is more powerful than my R32 and weighs 1780, he clearly knows his shit. Suspension. This is one of the first areas I need to change. It has electronically controlled dampers from factory, but everything is just way too soft for track work even on the hardest setting (it is nice when hustling on country roads though). In particular it rolls into oversteer mid corner and pitches too much under hard braking so it becomes unstable eg in the turn 1 kink I need to brake early, turn through the kink then brake again so I don't pirouette like an AE86. I need to get some decent shocks with matched springs and sway bars ASAP, even if it is just a v1 setup until I work out a proper race/rally setup later. Tyres. I am running Yoko A052 in 235/45/18 all round, because that was what I could get in approximately the right height on wheels I had in the shed (Rays/Nismo 18x8 off the old Leaf actually!). As track tyres they are pretty poor; I note GTSBoy recently posted a porker comparo video including them where they were about the same as AD09.....that is nothing like a top line track tyre. I'll start getting that sorted but realistically I should get proper sized wheels first (likely 9.5 +38 front and 11 +55 at the rear, so a custom order, and I can't rotate them like the R32), then work out what the best tyre option is. BTW on that, Targa Tas had gone to road tyres instead of semi slicks now so that is a whole other world of choices to sort. Diff. This is the other thing that urgently needs to be addressed. It left massive 1s out of the fish hook all day, even when I was trying not too (you can also hear it reving on the video, and see the RPM rising too fast compared to speed in the data). It has an open diff that Infiniti optimistically called a B-LSD for "Brake Limited Slip Diff". It does good straight line standing start 11s but it is woeful on the track. Nismo seem to make a 2 way for it.
