Is it just me or has anyone else noticed the calming effect the R35 has on the boy racers.Especially the XRSSHSV ute brigade.I've got a nicely modified 300zx that every time I drive it some young V8 boy wants to race me.Since I've had the R35 the same dudes just want to wave to me or give me the thumbs up and take photos. Not even a hint of mines faster than yours which I'm loving as I do need my licence and in this car there is no stealth mode and I'm finding I have to check the speedo more often as what feels like 260 can quite easily be closer to 280.Got to say though when you do give it a bit I love the sound the turbos make and that's without a Willal Racing mid pipe which will be my first mod.(Martin Donnon from Willal Racing has not payed for this ad for any Willal Racing GTR products that I may or may not of mentioned)(spoken very quickly)but check out his website and have a look at the oil analysis photos.Very scary.I know I'm going on a road trip to SA.That's South not Skylines. As someone that believe it or not has not actually yet driven... say for example ,an F1 car but has driven that other techno marvel the NASCAR in my hurry to get thru a distant green light the other morning whilst being in M mode I did give it a bit of a nail and can only describe the experience as OMYGOD.So in conclusion I propose that in order to eliminate the road toll everyone should be made to drive an R35 and owning an R35 GT-R be made compulsory.Instead of this current KRudd government giving away money to teenage girls to have babies and widescreen TV's make them subsidise R35 GT-R,s so we can at last have a zero road toll.Anyone?

my GTR has yet to have anyone try take it on. no GT2's have turned up next to me at the lights, I guess no one can afford one.... :)

most onlookers are still in the honeymoon phase taking pictures etc. have had a moped and a bike pull up next to the drivers window for a chat on 2 separate occasions this week and a stagea before that. some girls wanted a picture in the car last friday night...... the shits out of hand for now

K rudd is helping the GTR though... via the business equipment tax concessions! haha - GTR taxback program may just have gotten sweeter with the new budget (only works up to the luxury tax threshhold). I am no accountant so better check it out for yourself.

U Need to get out more man

Agreed, honeymoon period people are just amazed to see a R35 in the flesh. Nobodies tried to drag me yet either which I don't mind at all. I did have a pretty cool race with a motorbike last month though. I think that's the more likely drag races we'll have in these R35's cause no other car can come close.

All the better for you cuz they don't want to get ass raped by your R35 GTR.

I'll go out of my way to get nice cars to take off just to hear them :D

The R35 is a lovely sounding vehicle btw...

Doesn't matter whether I'm in the gtr (r32) on the bike or in the daily. Although the bike does seem to be the thing that the faster cars are happiest racing.

I'd like to see a 1098r vs R35 race.

Do a youtube search....their is a 1098 (S I think...) on there......1098 S Kills the R35 on the straights...but braking and cornering the R35

makes ground.......

Found it, very cool and pretty much as expected... Car = Braking and Corners // Bike = Acceleration

There is a good "Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera VS Ducati 1098" video too... outcome the same.

Probably means that the R35 and the Lambo are pretty damn close too.

Love the car but some owners are wayyyy too cockkyy. Sorry

Some - but some people are just cocks regardless what they drive. My experience so far says that most GT-R owners are OK - you gotta be an enthusiast, pretty wealthy one to own this baby. That's a world of difference to some M3 owners - slicked up hair, massive sunnies and ego issues - massive cocks.

:(

probably not the smartest forum to post that sentiment on.

it would be just as ignorant of me to state that modded grey import owners hang out at 7-eleven whilst wearing their pants on backwards and hats on sideways

might be an idea to get to know some of them first, everyone here is obviously an enthusiast so keep the thoughtless typecasting to a minimum eh?

    • Hi, is the HKS  Tower Bar still available ? negotiable ? 🤔
    • From there, it is really just test and assemble. Plug the adapter cables from the unit into the back of the screen, then the other side to the car harness. Don't forget all the other plugs too! Run the cables behind the unit and screw it back into place (4 screws) and you should now have 3 cables to run from the top screen to the android unit. I ran them along the DS of the other AV units in the gap between their backets and the console, and used some corrugated tubing on the sharp edges of the bracket so the wires were safe. Plug the centre console and lower screen in temporarily and turn the car to ACC, the AV should fire up as normal. Hold the back button for 3 sec and Android should appear on the top screen. You need to set the input to Aux for audio (more on that later). I put the unit under the AC duct in the centre console, with the wifi antenna on top of the AC duct near the shifter, the bluetooth antenna on the AC duct under the centre console The GPS unit on top of the DS to AC duct; they all seem to work OK there are are out of the way. Neat cable routing is a pain. For the drive recorder I mounted it near the rear view mirror and run the cable in the headlining, across the a pillar and then down the inside of the a pillar seal to the DS lower dash. From there it goes across and to one USB input for the unit. The second USB input is attached to the ECUtec OBD dongle and the 3rd goes to the USB bulkhead connected I added in the centre console. This is how the centre console looks "tidied" up Note I didn't install the provided speaker, didn't use the 2.5mm IPod in line or the piggyback loom for the Ipod or change any DIP switches; they seem to only be required if you need to use the Ipod input rather than the AUX input. That's it, install done, I'll follow up with a separate post on how the unit works, but in summary it retains all factory functions and inputs (so I still use my phone to the car for calls), reverse still works like factory etc.
    • Place the new daughterboard in the case and mount it using the 3 small black rivets provided, and reconnect the 3 factory ribbon cables to the new board Then, use the 3 piggyback cables from the daughterboard into the factory board on top (there are stand offs in the case to keep them apart. and remember to reconnect the antenna and rear cover fan wires. 1 screw to hold the motherboard in place. Before closing the case, make a hole in the sticker covering a hole in the case and run the cable for the android unit into the plug there. The video forgot this step, so did I, so will you probably. Then redo the 4 screws on back, 2 each top and bottom, 3 each side and put the 2 brackets back on.....all ready to go and not that tricky really.
    • Onto the android unit. You need to remove the top screen because there is a daughterboard to put inside the case. Each side vent pops out from clips; start at the bottom and carefully remove upwards (use a trim remover tool to avoid breaking anything). Then the lower screen and controls come out, 4 screws, a couple of clips (including 3 flimsy ones at the top) and 3 plugs on the rear. Then the upper screen, 4 screws and a bunch of plugs and she is out. From there, remove the mounting brackets (2 screws each), 4 screws on the rear, 2 screws top and bottom and 3 screws holding in the small plates on each side. When you remove the back cover (tight fit), watch out for the power cable for the fan, I removed it so I could put the back aside. The mainboard is held in by 1 screw in the middle, 1 aerial at the top and 3 ribbon cables. If you've ever done any laptop stuff the ribbon cables are OK to work with, just pop up the retainer and they slide out. If you are not familiar just grab a 12 year old from an iphone factory, they will know how it works The case should now look like this:
    • Switching the console was tricky. First there were 6 screws to remove, and also the little adapter loom and its screws had to come out. Also don't forget to remove the 2 screws holding the central locking receiver. Then there are 4 clips on either side....these were very tight in this case and needed careful persuading with a long flat screw driver....some force required but not enough to break them...this was probably the fiddliest part of the whole job. In my case I needed both the wiring loom and the central locking receiver module to swap across to the new one. That was it for the console, so "assembly is the reverse of disassembly"
