Hope its running a stroker kit and throw a set of R32 GTS4 diff gears at it; she will need it. :P

I came across a bloke that makes 4wd adaptors for the LS1 block to suit Patrols as well as gearbox adaptors.

Surely it wouldn't be too hard to rig something up for a light LS1 in to an R32 GTR. Strap on a turbo or two; now that would be fun. :)

plains for the car are maddat roll cage, origin body kit then giv it a lick of orange paint

the next part will be to get the motor together which will been build by TURBOTUNE, which will be a redtop sr20det with tomei camshafts, tomei cam gears, scat rods, arai pistons, a trust L2 turbo kit.

hopfully were able to get the motor in with out to much touble but will post up pics of the build as we go

please keep this thread clean an postive

interesting choice, why?

well first i was gonna b using a ke70 shell but i just couldnt find one cheap enough an clean enough an yeh came accross this shell an it was a bargin an thought it would b somthin different an catch a few eyes when its done

haha thats fair enough then... will be keeping an eye on this.

yes im curious, why not used a tried and true motor instead of smaller displacement and less turbo's?

sr20's can make a fair whack of power too, just setup differently i guess. still an rb25/26/30 will give you a much better kick down low where you will need it for hillclimb especially.

at least youll be taking a bit of weight off up front :P

Shouldn't be to hard a car to build, its been done plenty of times before, I've got a mate putting a SR in his ceffy. keen to see it in action.

Do you own the Hilux with TONKA on the plates?

thats alot of weight for a sr to pull, interesting none the less

actually if he chucks in the RWD front cradle and does away with transfer case it will weigh less than a standard R32 RWD car

GTR's are only heavier due to transfer case and extra front shafts CV joints and all the bits and pieces to make em AWD

    • Ok I get you. But isn’t the butterfly intake a headache with the +T?  see this is my plan so far but please advise me into the right direction.  Nistune Ecu, 1000cc Bosch injectors, TD05 or TD06 Kinugawa turbo using stock rb25det exhuast manifold, walbro fuel pump unsure of model I think it’s 450/460, spitfire coils and sparks to suit and a R35 MAF sensor and boost sensor.    I was thinking maybe do a cheap eBay plenum $400-500 or try find a stock det neo intake. I think I’d port match it so it’s getting the full capacity but open to advice please.  Thanks
    • The issue now is the 'fuel cut' while driving, and when it happend, it does not stall. This, I did not test the fuel pressure while driving as I cannot with a fuel pressure gauge. I do have Nistune logs, yes. I have also replaced the MAF Sensor.   Also related to the FPG Fuel Hanger – I just realized that I need a Deutsch Crimp Tool to crimp some cables for the FPG Fuel Hanger. Need to purchase additional cables as the kit only included 2, which are for the float. FPG has not responded to my emails so far since purchasing. I thought about taking it to someone and having it done professionally, but I am reluctant since everyone I took it to messed up in some way.
    • There's a good German place in Brisbane if youre up for the drive 😛
    • The German place in Cabramatta was rock solid, fresh pretzel cooked to order back then. Then it went all quiet, after all the poker machines were removed, then I believe it closed for good. I did drive past the other week and noticed outdoor lighting a big screen, but no idea what is there now.
    • Yeah I suspect even if you hold airmass per cycle/cylinder constant if you get too far away from stock you're still going to have problems running the factory tune within the bounds of the factory load scale. Cams, different displacement/rod ratio, etc. I'm just lucky that the GTIII-SS with wastegate boost + CA compliance cats is pretty much equivalent to stock turbos. When I have actual space I can finally get it tuned and modify the fuel system for flex fuel to 100% handle any detonation concerns when cranking the boost to whatever those dinky turbos can put out.
