Well, the results are in, and in an outstanging effort, Pete has run to a beer-fueled 3rd in the Wet Eastern Creek track session, managing a 1.57!

We didn't get to see the times from the dry sessions, they felt real quick but neither of us was in the top 10.

Overall I am running 20th in the drivers, Pete is 11th in the co-drivers, In the teams we are running 16th.....so more work to do today :D

Well, we've made it to the end of day 2, and we are fighting well above our class.

We are 11th outright in the field. Since tomorrow is all at Wakefield track, we are hoping to move inside the top 10.

Pete's been having a blinder, he obviously goes faster with beer in him. He set the fastest time on the Sutton Hillclimb stage (except for the small issue of a 5 second witches hat penalty which put him out of contention). He then backed that up with 2nd outright in the special stage in Goulburn's main street.

I haven't had higher than 9th outright (Eastern Creek track wet session) so I better have a proper go tomorrow.

GSR 13s, you mate is doing bloody well, on the back of winning pretty much every skid pan event they are running 3rd outright.

what a tops weekend

team dunkanfatz finished a respectable 10th outright out of 58 teams consisting of mostly porkas, and other exotic cars,

go the blue whale

managed a 7th outright in the co drivers, and a 3rd in class

im so chuffed,

great driving and a big thanks to dunkan for being silly enought to let me loose in his car...... you should have seen his face when i got the thing airbourne

lol

picks r cumming

Looks like Pete beat me to it - the boys posted an OUTSTANDING result this weekend.

Not too bad when you consider the competition they were up against- lots of fast Porshes, a clubman, a turbo charged MX5 and one of those fancy Evos.

Since he brought it up.... Pete's extracirricular activities almost put the mitsubishi out of contention on the last day. Returning to our second floor hotel room at 3.30am in the morning (yep, Fatz is one serious competitor) Pete realised he had forgotton his keys and decided to scale the balcony- to avoid having to wake us all up no doubt. Unfortunately, the one too many cordials he had consumed that night caused him to fall upon reaching the second floor. The Evo was in his path, but luckily he managed to execute a fancy role at the finish, landing on Jason instead. The bushes on the ground also suffered considerable damage and will never look the same again.

Let the stories (excuses!) begin....

Cheers,

Kel

Yeah, Petie, absolutely LOVED all that snoring and farting, not to mention you jumping on top of Duncan, singing bad Elvis songs and hoping for a snog at 3.30 in the morning.

;P

Well, I'm stoked with how the rally went, 10th outright against that sort of competition was a real acheivement.

There should be some excellent TV coverage, not to mention the interview of pete and the infamous "balcony incident"

I'll post up when the results are available, but some highlights are:

Pete came 2nd outright in the Eastern Creek wet laps, and in the Goulburn main street motorkhana....not to mention that he took the fastest time on the Sutton hillclimb stage by over 1/2 second from the clubman (except for the 2x5 second witches hat penalties ;) )

I managed a couple of top 10 results in the track sprints, but need heaps more practice in the wet motorkhanas, especially as the magic tyres ran out of grooves very, very quickly :)

    • Pressure when IDLING, is meant to be 51PSi... So that amperage value needs to go up a fair chunk... I'd personally be factoring for more like 12amp at least on those runs, and at that point you need to hope the already there wiring doesn't drop you a volt or two, as that's a lot of fuel pressure flow drop off from 13.5 to 12V! Taking idle pressure of 51psi, means the pump will be drawing a MINIMUM of 9amps all the time based on your reading of the graph (3bar base, then allowing an extra 0.5bar for boost = roughly 51psi)
    • Hi all,  I am in the market for an R200 longnose diff out of a Z31 300ZX, or S12 RSX, DR30 skyline, or similar, in a 3.9 ratio.  Preferably a late model one with the M12 crownwheel bolts.  The only easy to find advert for one of these was my ad back in 2007 when I sold it on this forum.  I sold the diff as I had sold the car it goes to, but as it turns out, after 18 years I got the car back late last year, so now I'm looking for the diff !  If anyone knows where to find a longnose R200 LSD with the M12 crownwheel bolts, drop me a line at [email protected] - Bonus paid if soomeone comes up with the original diff (stranger things have happened !).  Cheers   Ben D
    • Hi everyone, I used to post here a bit from 2004-2013, when I owned various Nissans, in particular my S12 RSX gazelle, which was sold in 2007.  As luck would have it, after an 18 year hiatus, the car found its way back to me last year, and over the past 11 months I have had the pleasure of restoring it with my kids.  One thing that I am after in particular is a 3.9 ratio R200 LSD for it.  I actually sold the one out of the car here back in 2007 , and it would be incredible if I could track down who I sold it to, so I can see how they have progressed over the years (and to be honest, to see whether I can get the diff back !).  Anyways, hi all and let me know "where are the R200 Longnose diffs all at these days ?  Cheers Ben D
    • Arms will be the same as the G35 or 350Z, but as above, there was a change in the lower control arm where it connects to the ball joint.  That said, you can remove the ball joint cone from your old ball joints and fit them to the new ball joints.  To be honest, I didn't think the ball joints themselves were different. The main ball joint is a bit awkward to replace, you really need to remove the steering knuckle to press out the old one.  Some people have used tools to remove it in place, but it just seemed too hard to get to. If you are going to press out/in that ball joint, then you may as well just replace the bushings in the LCA and the compression rod.  You can buy the compression rod bushing from Nissan, but the LCA bushes, you will need to go aftermarket. Much cheaper than buying the whole arm.
    • Ha, well, it's been.... a bit of a journey. Things have taken much longer than I'd hoped. I'll probably put up a thread at some stage. Hopefully soon. The car's not done any kms since my update in June though, put it that way.
